This shouldn't have been the case.
The GX Tournament at Duel Academy was nearing its conclusion, and the climax of the event was upon them. Students who were merely making up the numbers and average Duelists had mostly been eliminated by this stage, leaving only the elites and top players.

But where were they all?
Yugo was feeling rather down.
At the start of the GX Tournament, he had been excited, looking forward to dueling with various powerful opponents. However, as the tournament progressed, he realized that no one was willing to play with him.

It was the same in the original anime, except that in the anime, Saiou would occasionally send a few experts to try and snatch the key to Satellite Sky from Yugo. So, thanks to Saiou's friendly sponsorship, Yugo would occasionally get to duel.
But now, even the biggest sponsor, Saiou, had been defeated by Yugo Fujiki in advance, leaving Yugo truly bored and resorting to fishing by the seaside to pass the time. A voice sounded from behind.

Yugo finally reacted, his eyes lighting up at the prospect of business.
He immediately dropped his fishing rod and jumped to his feet. Turning around, he saw a man dressed entirely in white, wearing black sunglasses, and sporting a rather cool appearance.
Yugo quickly calmed down.
"You're not from the school, are you?"
"Hmm, that's right." The man coldly smiled, "My name is Choukyo Zetsu, a Duelist from the professional league. But now, guided by the Light, I've found a cause far more meaningful than my profession."
A shadow of Shin Yasha appeared behind Yugo, warning, "An enemy sent by the Light of Annihilation, Yugo."
Yugo nodded, "I know."
He had a feeling about this all-white outfit when he first saw it. Yugo Fujiki had told him that people dressed entirely in white were particularly noteworthy and often linked to the Light of Annihilation.
"Am I your target?"
"Of course, Yugo Takeuchi." Choukyo Zetsu took a step forward, "Duel King Yugo Fujiki, the legendary Duelist, and Machida Kenji, the Duelist always by your side, are quite a nuisance.
But with them absent, this is a heaven-sent opportunity."
"Huh?" Yugo was taken aback, then laughed.
"Seems like we're seen as easy targets."
The Yugo from the original world line, who was always at the forefront of the action, would never have imagined that one day, he would be seen as an easy target.

Yugo began with a Forbidden Card in his hand—a card that would also be Forbidden in the future. This card was designed by him during his childhood and obtained after receiving mysterious waves in space.

Choukyo Zetsu drew a card.
"I activate the Spell Card, Angel's Grace, to draw three cards from my Deck and then discard two cards from my hand."
"Next, I activate the Spell Card, Resurrection of the Dead, to revive the monster that was just discarded to the Graveyard!"
Choukyo Zetsu drew a card from the Graveyard.

A swordsman in white armor wielded his longsword, and a shield adorned with a gem-like red object hung at his side. His white cloak billowed behind him.

The White Knight Corps, a field card that has not been realized in real life, is an exclusive Deck of Light of Annihilation. In the anime, it was the ace Deck of Baizoume after he was turned white.
In the current worldline, due to the changes, the Light Society team has been facing setbacks on Duel Academy Island, and there are plenty of members who have been defeated by Baizoume. Naturally, with Baizoume not being white, the White Knight Corps Deck is now in someone else's hands.

"Of course, you can also choose to Special Summon namesake cards of monsters on your field."
Yugo Takeuchi shrugged, "I don't have any other Dandelion Lions in my Deck."
"In that case, I won't hold back!" Choukyo Zetsu exclaimed, "I Special Summon two more White Knight Corps Swordsmen from my Deck!"

"Battle Phase!" Choukyo Zetsu issued a direct attack command, "White Knight Corps Swordsman, attack that pesky monster!"
The swordsman obeyed, swinging his longsword. The small Dandelion Lion couldn't withstand the attack and was instantly pierced, exploding into fragments.
"Now, activate the effect of Dandelion Lion!" Yugo Takeuchi said, "When this card is sent to the Graveyard, Special Summon two Fluff Tokens on your field.
Come forth, Fluff Tokens!"
As the Dandelion Lion left the field, countless golden light particles emerged and condensed into two clusters, forming two tiny Fluff Tokens that stood on either side of Yugo Takeuchi.

"Now, attack with the remaining two White Knight Corps Swordsmen!"
The other two swordsmen charged forward, one slashing horizontally and the other vertically. Both Fluff Tokens were destroyed by the sword attacks.
"A monster with a Last Will effect, you were probably planning to use the Tokens for a Tribute Summon, weren't you?" Choukyo Zetsu smiled, "But unfortunately, such a simple tactic won't work against the White Knights."
He drew two more cards from his hand.
"I set two cards. My turn is over!"
