Chapter 782: You're Not Killing Anyone Like This
Chapter 782: You're Not Killing Anyone Like This
"Got him!" Sazil exclaimed with delight.
This punch had landed cleanly. Even a Devil Fruit user would take damage when struck directly while using Haki.
"Very—"
Sheridan lowered his head, letting out a rumble from his throat.
"Painful!!"
He suddenly snapped his head upward, his fat face twisting into a grotesque expression. In that instant, Sazil felt a chill run down his spine as though his throat had been pierced by invisible blades.
Instinctively, he slammed his feet onto the ground and leaped backward, hastily coating his chest with Haki.
"Jelly Stab!!"
Sheridan’s bloated face contorted violently. His skull stretched into a sharp cone, and Haki surged over it like a blade, piercing straight toward Sazil’s throat like a sword.
Blocking was impossible now—
Sazil braced his stance and roared, "Iron Body!!"
The attack meant for his throat struck his Haki-coated chest instead, producing a thunderous clang like metal striking metal.
Boom!!
Sazil grunted in pain, spitting out a wisp of blood as he flew backward like a ragdoll, crashing onto the ground and gasping for breath.
"This move… it reminds me of the Eight-Light Fist. Did this guy interact with Chinjao?" Kuro narrowed his eyes at the headbutt technique.
The technique’s power was formidable. For Sazil to endure it head-on was borderline reckless.
"This technique…"
Even Lucci’s expression darkened in unease.
"This wasn’t easy to dodge", he muttered. "I saw it clearly—it targeted his throat but hit his chest instead."
"This Navy officer’s Observation Haki is exceptional."
"And his Iron Body isn’t bad either", Lucci added. "Better than mine."
Kaku nodded. "Stronger than mine too. His mastery of the Six Styles must be advanced."
Klah adjusted his glasses, remaining silent.
After all, they were his subordinates. He couldn’t exactly say they were only capable of these two techniques.
"Jelly Impact!"
Before the dust settled, Sheridan launched another assault, his arm elongating like jelly toward Sazil.
In an instant—
Klah moved.
Whoosh!
Multiple cold slashes tore through Sheridan’s extended arm, slicing it cleanly in two. The severed limb hit the ground like gelatin, bouncing limply.
In front of Sazil, Klah stood in his beast-form hybrid state, claws extended forward. He jabbed a finger at Sheridan. "Don’t get too cocky, pirate."
"Disgusting", Kaku muttered, watching Klah’s transformed state. "This reminds me of that idiot Gabura."
"Another one", Sheridan muttered, not reacting to his severed arm. He merely stretched his elbow forward, and the scattered jelly fragments on the ground flew to his hand, merging seamlessly into a new arm.
"This is nothing", Sheridan sneered. "I can regenerate any limb!"
"Canine Storm!"
Klah crossed his claws, unleashing intersecting slashes of pale blue light like a spiderweb. The barrage shredded Sheridan’s body into pieces.
But the fragments immediately liquefied, pooling together like jelly before reforming into Sheridan’s fleshy mountain.
"I’m immortal!" Sheridan thrust his gut forward, his body radiating Haki as countless jet-black bullets erupted from his abdomen.
"Jelly Shot!!"
"Superspeed Shave!"
Klah vanished, reappearing at Sheridan’s side in an instant. His form swelled rapidly, transforming into a towering five-meter-tall werewolf. With a single bite, he tore off the upper half of Sheridan’s torso.
"Wolf Dash Cannon!"
As he bit down, Klah’s chest expanded like a balloon. A burst of compressed air erupted from his wolfish maw, obliterating the jelly in his jaws and blowing away the rest of Sheridan’s body.
Hiss!
With a flick of his claw, Klah shredded the remaining lower half into fragments.
"Wolf Dash Cannon!"
Without pausing, he unleashed another shockwave at the scattered jelly remains. The force erupted like a raging gale, sweeping up dust and debris. The battlefield’s rubble and cracked earth flattened under the impact, leaving the jelly remnants utterly annihilated.
"Awooooo!!"
Klah raised his claws, howling to the sky. "Before my great Klah Officer, a petty pirate like you is no match! You were doomed from the start!"
His combat experience was unmatched. He’d analyzed the "immortality" within two moves—it rivaled Logia-class abilities, but Sheridan wasn’t a true Logia. If every trace of his jelly body was eradicated, his regeneration would fail.
Watching from afar, Kuro shook his head. "Enough, Klah. Fall back."
Klah bared his fangs, roaring. "Kuro-san, I’ve already won!"
What was a pirate famous for twenty years? He was Klah—Kuro-san’s right-hand man! Even a big-shot pirate like this was no longer a threat.
"No", Kuro pointed to the distant jelly fragments. "His aura remains."
Suddenly, the tiny jelly blob on the ground expanded, shooting a Haki-enhanced tendril toward Klah.
The appendage morphed into a fist mid-flight, reforming into Sheridan.
"I’m immortal!"
Sheridan’s fist smashed into Klah’s face, the Haki force snapping Klah’s head back with a stumble.
"You bastard", Klah hissed, lowering his head with eyes ablaze.
"So what if you destroy my form?!" Sheridan’s body quivered, scattering more jelly.
"As long as my jelly exists, I can’t die! Severed limbs, decapitation, disintegration—nothing works!"
Klah’s fur bristled, his body swelling further as he crouched low, claws scraping the ground.
"I’ll make sure you never regenerate again", he snarled.
"Enough."
Kuro intervened, stepping forward and flicking his Autumn Water blade.
Drip…
Raindrops began falling from the sky.
Whoosh!
Within moments, torrential rain poured down on the battlefield, drenching the pirates and Sheridan.
As he walked, Kuro spoke through the downpour:
"You’re wasting your energy. You won’t kill him like this."
Klah’s earlier assault had proven ineffective against Sheridan’s regeneration.
But…
Kuro observed Sheridan’s labored breathing. This "regeneration" must be draining his stamina.
Under current conditions, Klah would eventually win—but only after a day-long fight, assuming Sheridan didn’t flee.
Kuro had no patience for that.
"Rain?" Sheridan tilted his head, puzzled. Why was the rain limited to this area?
No—his translucent jelly body was solidifying into human flesh! The rain was dissolving the scattered jelly fragments on the ground!
Only one liquid could do this—
Seawater!!
His ability creation dissolved instantly in seawater!
"Seawater works best against Paramecia types like you", Kuro said, chewing his cigar. "Without physical strength, you can’t use your ability. A jelly body alone is useless."
"You!"
Sheridan bolted, trying to escape.
Kuro raised his Autumn Water blade. "Bury yourself in water."
The raindrops around Sheridan coalesced into a watery prison, engulfing him.
With a flick, Kuro sheathed his blade. The black steel slid into its scabbard with a metallic click.
"Blue Dragon Rain."
Hiss!!
The pirates caught in the rain exploded—heads flying first, followed by their bodies bursting into crimson mist.
Inside the water prison, Sheridan convulsed violently. Gouts of blood erupted from within, staining the water a deep red, obscuring his body entirely.
The prison shattered, drenching the ground in blood. Nothing remained inside.
