Chapter 780: Global Soul Traverse
Chapter 780: Global Soul Traverse
Ita Valley is one of the valleys on this island, and it is not fully open to the public.
Ordinarily, it only welcomes individuals ranked B or higher, or those with assets exceeding ten billion.
If neither of these criteria is met, then only guests accompanied by members can enter.
Birit had explained all of this to Qiao Sang on the way there.
"You're an exception", Birit said as they walked. "Your information must have been registered, and the staff would have memorized your appearance in advance. You won’t need to say anything; someone will lead you in shortly."
The threshold is so high... Qiao Sang mused, then asked casually, "Have you been here before?"
Birit nodded. "Once."
He then realized that staying for a day cost him two months' salary, so he never came back.
"Is it fun inside?" Qiao Sang asked.
"Average", Birit replied.
No matter how enjoyable it might be, the cost makes it less appealing.
Qiao Sang was about to ask another question when Birit stopped, looking at the curved glass building in front of them.
"We've arrived. This is the Ita Valley service center."
He then stepped into the glass building first.
Qiao Sang hurried to follow. As she crossed the threshold and entered the hall, she suddenly felt a subtle, almost imperceptible probing from the shadows.
"Ya!"
Fangy, in her arms, also sensed it, immediately showing a wary expression and looking up.
"What's wrong?" Birit stopped and turned to ask.
Qiao Sang frowned. "It feels like someone is watching me."
Yes, watching, not just glancing.
As a Beastmaster who was already gaining some fame, Qiao Sang had experienced many covert gazes, but this felt different.
With over 30% brain domain, she’s this perceptive already... Birit was slightly surprised and smiled. "Don’t worry about it. That’s the Mechanical Beast’s Sensory Skills. In Supernest, places with strict entry requirements usually have Mechanical Beasts with these Skills."
"These places program the Mechanical Beasts' Sensory Skills to recognize the requirements for entry. If someone doesn’t meet the criteria, they will be asked to leave."
"Ya."
Fangy understood, relaxed, and looked away.
There are Skills like that... Qiao Sang asked curiously, "What about people who have never been here before? They have no information, how would it know if they meet the requirements?"
"Never been here means they don’t meet the requirements", Birit explained. "Staff will come to check and register them if it’s their first time here."
Just as he finished speaking, a staff member in a stylish uniform, looking around 27 years old, approached quickly and respectfully said, "Miss Qiao Sang, the Energy Pool has been prepared for you. Please follow me."
Qiao Sang glanced at Birit.
Birit cleared his throat and added, "What I mean is, the staff will check and register those who don’t meet the requirements but are visiting for the first time. If they meet the criteria, there’s no issue. Your information must have been registered in advance."
"Mr. Birit is correct", the staff member confirmed, accurately using Birit’s name.
Clearly, the Mechanical Beast had already identified them when they entered the building.
The staff member began leading the way, introducing Ita Valley as they walked. "We have all kinds of facilities related to familiars. While your familiar is bathing in the Energy Pool, you can visit and experience them all."
What? All of them? How much would that cost? Birit immediately wanted to decline on Qiao Sang’s behalf. "Experience..."
The staff member continued, "Because of that Honor Ring, all the experiences you have today will be free."
Qiao Sang looked at Birit. "Teacher, what were you about to say?"
Birit paused. "Experience them. There are many projects here that you should try."
The staff member, now familiar with the route, led them through the glass building, past a dense forest where various familiars were resting, and to a place with a clearly visible semi-transparent barrier.
Outside the barrier was a holographic screen, with a lion-like familiar lying nearby, eyes closed, wearing a Miniaturization Band, and covered in golden fur with two curved horns on its head.
Suddenly, a mechanical voice, similar to a Treasure Seeker’s, rang out:
"Let me see... Gemlion, a Psychic Royal Tier Beast, very fond of sleeping, and remains unperturbed even when disturbed. However, don’t assume it’s harmless just because it’s sleeping. Remember, the Skills Gemlion uses in its dreams can synchronize into reality... Oh! This is a dangerous opponent... No! I advise you not to consider it as an opponent!"
Qiao Sang, Treasure Seeker, and Staff all turned their gazes in the same direction.
“Xunxun~”
Treasure Seeker grinned, put away the Beast Identifier, and vanished once more.
Gemlion remained with its eyes closed, seemingly undisturbed.
So, its name is Gemlion... Qiao Sang retracted her gaze and looked at the golden-furred figure, mentally noting the information.
Actually, as long as Treasure Seeker didn’t misuse the Beast Identifier in the wild, Qiao Sang didn’t mind when they occasionally took it out to identify familiars. After all, it helped her learn more.
Staff, maintaining professional decorum, didn’t express curiosity about Treasure Seeker’s sudden appearance and disappearance.
He walked over to the holographic screen and operated it.
“Jie Ma…”
As his finger clicked the final button, Gemlion opened its eyes.
It glanced forward once.
Then, the translucent barrier began to slowly open.
“Miss Qiao Sang, only you and the chosen familiar are allowed to enter,” Staff said, standing aside in respectful anticipation.
Qiao Sang formed the hand seals and summoned Lulu. Unlike usual, Lulu now wore the Everstone around its neck.
“Go on,” Qiao Sang said softly.
“Fang!” Fangy called out, encouraging Lulu to absorb as much energy as possible.
Fangy didn’t mind Qiao Sang giving this opportunity to Lulu. It preferred to enhance its energy through battles rather than pure absorption.
“Ice Ai.”
Qiao Sang had already explained the energy absorption process to Lulu, who understood that it had been chosen among its companions to go and absorb energy.
Lulu gave its Beastmaster a serious look before turning and walking inside.
The moment Lulu stepped into the barrier, the translucent barrier slowly closed again.
Gemlion closed its eyes once more.
Lulu’s figure grew smaller and soon vanished from sight.
“Lulu will need about two hours to absorb energy,” Staff said. “During this time, I’ll show you some of the most popular entertainment attractions in Ita Valley.”
...
Meanwhile.
Inside the barrier.
A pool of shimmering green water gently rippled, radiating a magical energy that seemed to pulsate with life.
“Ice Ai…” Lulu was immediately drawn to the pool, even before entering it, feeling the fatal allure of the energy fluctuations.
With a determined expression, Lulu slowly stepped into the water.
“Ice Ai…” As it fully submerged, Lulu couldn’t help but show a look of comfort.
However, it quickly remembered its purpose and began to channel its energy.
The water around Lulu began to swirl in a vortex.
“Ice Ai…” Lulu clearly felt its energy increasing.
It felt a small surge of excitement but quickly calmed down, focusing intently on absorbing energy.
As time passed, the green hue of the water gradually faded.
...
On the other side.
“Global Soul Traverse, this is our most popular entertainment attraction,” Staff said, pointing to the devices that resembled game pods.
“These devices are connected to Qian Niantika’s brain. Once you enter, you’ll wake up inside the body of a random creature anywhere in the world.”
“It could be a regular animal, a familiar, or even a human.”
“However, the chosen body must meet two criteria: first, the creature must be in a state of sleep, and second, its brain domain or mental power must be lower than yours.”
“There’s one important note: if the creature wakes up, your consciousness will return to your body, ending the soul traverse early. So, to extend your experience, avoid causing any harm to the body you inhabit.”
Qiao Sang was bewildered. “Won’t the original consciousness of the body notice anything abnormal?”
Staff smiled. “They’ll attribute any abnormalities to a Ghost-type Beast Companion or sleepwalking.”
Birit remained unperturbed internally. He had spent nearly two months’ salary on this entertainment project.
