Chapter 776: Within Frozen Time
Chapter 776: Within Frozen Time
"The War Princess!"
"Dimaria!"
"One of the Spriggan 12 of the Alvarez Empire!"
Without Feng Ye's interference in the plot, the Alvarez Empire should have the full complement of twelve Spriggan members. However, due to Feng Ye's presence and the significant disruption to the world's timeline, the empire now only boasts seven Spriggans.
These seven Spriggans were led by Irene, Erza's mother, and the remaining six possessed comparable strength. Each of them stood at the pinnacle of wizardry, rivaling the might of Ishgar's God Serena. Their power could be said to be second only to the ancient dragons and Acnologia.
"What immense magic power..."
Wendy froze in her tracks, gazing at Dimaria from a distance. Beads of sweat formed on her forehead, and a hint of awe flashed in her eyes.
She wasn't afraid of Dimaria, as she knew Feng Ye was nearby. Her surprise stemmed entirely from the terrifying surge of magic power emanating from the Spriggan.
This power surpassed that of almost every wizard she had ever encountered!
Feng Ye's strength far exceeded what this world could contain. The slightest display of his power could wreak havoc on the world, so he usually kept his abilities tightly reined in, giving no indication of his true might.
Wendy had also met Acnologia, but he hadn't intentionally revealed his magic power to intimidate her either.
Thus, the vast magic power that Dimaria was exhibiting was likely the most formidable force Wendy had ever felt up close.
"A Dragon Slayer, and one who has cultivated to such a degree... You're not from Alvarez, are you?" Dimaria remarked, her demeanor calm and collected.
Wendy, under Dimaria's gaze, felt as if she were being oppressed by a sinister shadow, and she unconsciously took two steps back. Then, she inhaled sharply, and a white glow enveloped her slender arms as she leaped backward, instantly putting a considerable distance between them.
She had decisively chosen to retreat.
Facing a formidable wizard like Dimaria, she wouldn't act like Natsu, shouting and charging forward in a fit of passion.
"Oh dear..."
Dimaria watched Wendy's retreating figure, a fleeting glance in her eyes, and a slight curve on her lips. She then took a step forward.
Swish!
In a silent instant, the wind ceased.
The entire world froze.
Whether it was Wendy, who was in the midst of retreating, the surrounding Imperial Guard closing in, or the gentle breezes and strands of magic power in the air—everything came to a standstill.
This was... time stop!
As one of the Spriggan 12, Dimaria, the War Princess, possessed the power of time magic, far surpassing the incomplete Arc of Time that Ultear had mastered!
This was a more complete, more powerful, and more terrifying form of time magic!
In this frozen moment, Dimaria was the only one who could move.
With a smile on her face, she walked forward calmly and leisurely, stepping past Wendy and stopping in front of her.
Wendy was suspended in mid-air, completely frozen, even the light arcs and magic auras surrounding her were motionless, like a painting.
"How adorable."
Dimaria's lips curved upward as she reached out and gently pinched Wendy's cheek. Wendy, trapped in the time stop, didn't even twitch, as if she were a statue.
After pinching Wendy's cheek, Dimaria retracted her hand.
Clang!
She drew a sword from her waist and placed it gently on Wendy's shoulder, a hint of anticipation in her voice as she said, "I wonder what expression you'll have on your face soon. I'm quite looking forward to it."
Especially when it came to cute young girls.
She would freeze time and slash their clothes to shreds, only to release time and let them realize they were stark naked the very next moment. Then, she would savor their flustered and embarrassed expressions.
However...
Just as Dimaria was about to indulge in her twisted game with Wendy, something bizarre happened.
She felt her descending sword inexplicably slowing down.
"Why am I moving so slowly... What's going on...?"
Dimaria was initially taken aback, her pupils contracting sharply as a hint of disbelief crept into her eyes. "No, it's not that I'm moving slowly... I can't move at all... This is..."
As a master of time-stopping magic, she was all too familiar with this sensation of being unable to move. It was unmistakably the effect of time stop!
But that was impossible!
In a frozen time, she should be the only one capable of movement. How could she be immobilized as well?!
As if reading her thoughts, a voice sounded from behind her, calm and unhurried.
"Nothing is impossible. You stopped the flow of time in this world, and I stopped yours."
Feng Ye, clad in a white wizard's robe, had appeared silently behind Dimaria, his gaze serene as he watched her.
Then—
Snap!
Feng Ye raised his left hand and snapped his fingers lightly.
Wendy, who had been frozen in place, was suddenly enveloped by an unseen force, freeing her from the temporal stasis and propelling her forward.
Having been trapped in the frozen moment, Wendy was unaware of what had transpired. All she saw was Dimaria suddenly appearing beside her, sword in hand, and Feng Ye appearing to immobilize the Spriggan.
"What?!
Wendy dashed forward for several meters before coming to a halt, her eyes wide as she took in her surroundings. She realized that the entire world around her was frozen, and only she and Feng Ye seemed to be able to move.
She quickly pieced together what had happened—Dimaria had attempted something against her at a speed she couldn't react to, and Feng Ye had intervened by stopping time.
While that wasn't exactly what had transpired, the essence of her understanding wasn't far from the truth.
"Impossible... How could you possibly stop my time...?"
Dimaria's consciousness was still active, and the reason for that was twofold. Firstly, Feng Ye had intentionally allowed her to retain her consciousness, and secondly, he hadn't truly used a time-stopping ability but had instead employed a time-slowing technique, slowing her time to an infinitesimal rate.
At that moment, Dimaria sensed a profound crisis!
Her time-stopping ability was not infallible, especially against opponents of similar caliber. In the past, she had attempted to use time stop against Jellal, but even then, he had been able to move within the frozen moment.
But...
To find herself completely immobilized by Feng Ye's power was a first for her!
She frantically channeled her magic power, trying to break free from the temporal bind, but to no avail.
"Damn it..."
"Receive—God Soul: Chronos!"
Faced with the inability to break free from the time stop, Dimaria resorted to her ultimate trump card—the Requip Magic.
She received a fragment of the soul and authority of Chronos, the God of Time!
BOOM!!!
An overwhelming and boundless aura burst forth.
The fragment of Chronos's soul and power had descended!
