Chapter 770: Kyle's Herbology (Second Update, Hehe!)
Chapter 770: Kyle's Herbology (Second Update, Hehe!)
At Number 12, Grimmauld Place, a group was gathered around a table for a meeting.
"Achoo!"
Chris suddenly sneezed, almost knocking the cup on the table to the ground.
Everyone turned to look at him, and Mr. Weasley asked with concern, "Are you catching a cold?"
"No, I don't think so," Chris shook his head. "It's probably just that I didn't get enough rest last night. Don't mind me, where were we?"
"Transferring Harry!" Mr. Weasley said solemnly. "We must bring him here on his seventeenth birthday, away from his aunt's house."
"I really don't understand why we have to go through all this trouble!" Sirius said, appearing somewhat agitated.
What was Dumbledore thinking? When we first brought Harry here, we should have let him stay. Why did we have to send him back to the Dursleys?
"Dumbledore must have his reasons," Mrs. Weasley said. "Sirius, we should trust him."
"Yes, I know. You've said it many times," Sirius replied sharply. "If I didn't trust Dumbledore, I wouldn't have let Harry leave."
The room suddenly became much quieter, and no one spoke because they also didn't understand why Dumbledore was doing this. Moreover, it was on the very night Harry was on holiday that he was personally sent back to Little Whinging.
"Sorry, don't mind me," Sirius tried to break the silence. "So, how can we safely bring Harry back here?"
"Isn't it simple?" Mundungus said casually. "Why don't we have Dumbledore bring him here, just like he did when he sent Harry away?"
This wizard with a shabby appearance was staring at the silverware on the table, which was shining brightly, and he had no intention of discussing the matter with the others. In his opinion, this was an unnecessary complication.
With Dumbledore around, who could possibly take Potter away?
"Did you leave your ears somewhere else during our last meeting?" Mrs. Weasley, who had always held a grudge against Mundungus, couldn't hold back upon hearing his words.
"Dumbledore made it very clear last time," she said. "The Dark Lord won't just sit idly by, so we must be fully prepared and exclude him from our plans."
Under Mrs. Weasley's gaze, Mundungus immediately became flustered, stammering, "I... I forgot... you know, I have a lot of things to do..."
"You mean smuggling and dealing in stolen cauldrons?" Mrs. Weasley said coldly. "Or those untraceable Dark objects?"
"Th-those were obtained through legal means!" Mundungus asserted, stiffening his neck.
"Hmph..." Mrs. Weasley snorted without saying a word.
If it were truly through legal means, would Mundungus be hiding here for an entire week? Someone must be after him.
To be honest, Mrs. Weasley really didn't want Ginny and Ron to have any contact with someone like him. But there was no choice; Dumbledore trusted him, and as a member of the Order of the Phoenix, Mundungus also had the right to stay here.
The atmosphere in the room became even more awkward.
"Alright, weren't we discussing how to safely transfer Harry?" Kingsley Shacklebolt, the Auror, tried to defuse the tension. "Molly, why don't you share your thoughts?"
"It would be best if Dumbledore were involved," she said. "But we must also plan what to do to ensure Harry's safety in his absence."
Hearing this serious matter, Mrs. Weasley no longer paid attention to Mundungus.
"How about an Invisibility Charm?" she thought of the car Ron had once driven to Hogwarts.
Although she had always complained about Mr. Weasley modifying the car without permission, that car had an invisibility feature. If Ron had realized this at the time, they might not have been discovered.
As long as they made another car like that, they should be able to safely bring Harry out of Little Whinging.
And all the materials were readily available.
Sirius had the car, and Mr. Weasley, who was good with technology, could also help. If they only needed to add the flying and invisibility features, three days would be more than enough time.
But Moody shook his head after hearing this.
"No," he said after a moment of thought. "Death Eaters aren't Muggles; they have many ways to locate invisible targets, such as crystal balls and Detection Charms."
"Then let's all go together," Sirius said. "We'll fight them directly!"
No one responded to him, and after a brief pause, they continued their discussion as if nothing had happened, as if a dog had just barked.
When Sirius said something like this, it meant his intelligence had reached the same level as Mundungus.
If it were that simple, why would they need to sit here?
What they needed to do was to bring Harry away, not to deliver him into Voldemort's hands.
Seeing that no one was paying attention to him, Sirius closed his mouth in frustration.
"How about connecting Little Whinging to the Floo Network?" Mr. Weasley suggested. "That house has protective magic from Harry's mother, so it's very safe. The Dark Lord and his Death Eaters can't get in."
"Then we can use the Floo Network or Portkeys to bring him to a safe place."
"These methods are all under the control of the Ministry of Magic," Sirius frowned. "I don't trust them, and this way, we might also expose the location of Grimmauld Place. We can't connect this place to the Floo Network, can we?"
"Is that simple?"
We can move Harry to a nearby location." Mr. Weasley said, "While we're in action, everyone's attention will be on the Little Huijin District. As long as we get Harry out safely before the Dark Lord reacts, that's all we need to do."
"That's a good idea." Moody nodded, "And the Head of the Department of Magical Transportation is Barty Crouch. I won't comment much on what he did before, but I can assure you that he has a deep hatred for Dark Magic and Death Eaters."
As he spoke, he glanced unconsciously at Sirius.
It was because of Barty Crouch's misjudgment that he spent twelve years in Azkaban... Although anyone in that situation would have made the same judgment, but who could blame Barty Crouch?
As a fellow member of the Order of the Phoenix, he still had to pay attention to Sirius' emotions.
"What are you looking at me for?" Sirius said calmly, "As long as we can safely bring Harry here, I won't oppose whatever we do."
"That's good," Moody said.
"But as a precaution, we should also come up with a backup plan. I suggest using Polyjuice Potion, just like how the Death Eaters tricked Harry into leaving Hogwarts."
"As long as there are enough 'Harry Potters' and they leave together, it will be difficult for them to distinguish the real one in a short time."
"Good idea," Kingsley agreed first, "But one thing to note is that whoever becomes Harry must be prepared to face the Dark Lord at any time."
"Does that even need to be said?" The group exchanged glances, and no one hesitated for a moment.
Oh, except Mundungus, whose eyes wandered, opened his mouth but made no sound.
"Then I'll go prepare the Polyjuice Potion." Kingsley stood up and said, "The Ministry should still have some in stock."
"No need." Fred stopped him, "If someone finds out you took the Ministry's potion, they might guess something. That man's stance is notoriously unstable."
"But there's no time to brew it now." Kingsley frowned, "We can't go buy it, can we?"
"Did you forget?" George raised an eyebrow, "We have some at Weasley's Wizard Wheezes..."
"And we just happen to have Polyjuice Potion..." Fred said with a smile.
"That's perfect." Everyone revealed a look of surprise.
Fred was right. Whether it was taking the Ministry's potion or buying it, there was a risk of the plan being exposed. But if Fred and George had prepared it in advance, there wouldn't be any issues.
"Now there's also the issue of secrecy." Mrs. Weasley continued, "With so many of us acting together, it's impossible not to alert anyone, but we can throw out some smoke bombs."
"Move the date forward?" Fred asked tentatively.
"Or delay it..." George suggested.
"We can also prepare for the method of transfer." Mr. Weasley proposed, "We can modify the car and let those with ulterior motives see it, making them think the car is the way to transfer Harry."
"I think you just want to get your hands on that car again." Mrs. Weasley looked at him doubtfully.
"How can you think that, Molly? I'm doing this for Harry's sake," Mr. Weasley said seriously.
"I think Dad's proposal is good..."
The group discussed various potential issues, from morning to evening, until everyone was starving.
Mrs. Weasley went to the kitchen and prepared some salted pork and boiled potatoes as quickly as possible to fill everyone's stomachs.
Kingsley and Moody ate while continuing their previous conversation.
Fred took a bite of the plain potatoes without any seasoning and couldn't help but sigh, "I wish Kyle could come back soon, in five minutes or even tomorrow would be fine."
"Yeah, Kyle always has good ideas," George said, "With his help, we should be able to complete all the plans faster."
"Forget it," Fred sighed, "He's probably still in the Black Forest now."
"Those werewolves are so unlucky, they're about to run into Kyle." George suddenly laughed as if he had thought of something.
"Shouldn't it be Mr. Scamander?" a member of the Order of the Phoenix asked in confusion.
Dedalo Diggory, when he joined the Order of the Phoenix twenty years ago, was already quite old, so compared to Kyle, he was more familiar with Newt, the troublemaker.
"Your information is a bit outdated, Mr. Diggory," Fred said with a smile.
"Have you heard that two months ago, Kyle speared Fenrir Greyback with a spear and set Fiendfyre in Hogwarts?"
This work is organized and uploaded by 69 Books Bar~~
"You mean Fiendfyre?" Mr. Diggory paused, his eyes full of disbelief, "Doesn't Albus care?"
"In fact, Dumbledore was right there at the time," George said, "He didn't even deduct any house points."
Mr. Diggory glanced unconsciously at Kingsley across from him. After receiving his affirmative reply, he didn't know what to say for a moment.
Is Dumbledore this easygoing now? He actually allowed students to openly use Fiendfyre, a type of Dark Magic, in Hogwarts?
Not even the Aurors cared?
Just because he's a Second Class Order of Merlin recipient?
He suddenly became a bit curious about Kyle.
"Let's just say...
Fred took a bite of his sandwich, "Knowing Kyle, those werewolves would probably still be alive if they cooperated."
"But that's unlikely." George waved his hand, "After so many days, Kyle's patience has probably worn thin. I even suspect he'd burn down the entire Black Forest, along with the werewolves inside."
"No! Impossible." Dedalo Diggory spoke firmly, "Newt wouldn't let him do that."
...
Meanwhile, in the Black Forest.
"It's just a simple Inferno Curse, it should be fine, right?" Kyle looked at Newt beside him, feeling a bit perplexed.
He was about to cast a spell at the cave when Newt suddenly interrupted him.
The newly formed flames dissipated instantly.
"Did you forget that this is the Black Forest, the only place in Britain suitable for most magical creatures to live, aside from the Forbidden Forest?" Newt glared at Kyle, "Do you want to destroy it?"
"It's just a cave, it's not that serious." Kyle muttered, "And I can extinguish them..."
Newt's expression grew more serious, and Kyle's voice became softer.
"Alright, I won't then."
Newt's expression eased a little upon hearing Kyle's words.
"And the Erumpent is off-limits too." He continued, "Its poison will spread through the forest, and the first to suffer will be the Treant guiding you."
As he spoke, a piercing howl suddenly echoed from a distance.
It was unclear if it was due to the unfinished spell or their loud voices... They had been discovered.
A filthy figure leaped down from a tree, screaming and pointing his wand at Kyle and Newt without hesitation.
"Avada Kedavra!"
The shrill voice sounded like the growl of some wild beast. Kyle and Newt quickly retreated, narrowly avoiding the Killing Curse.
Within the next few seconds, more werewolves emerged from different directions, but the cave in front of them remained silent, without a hint of movement.
This seemed like a trap or a deliberately staged entrance.
"As expected, werewolves are so cautious." Kyle muttered to himself.
But there was no time to ponder this now.
The werewolves surrounded Kyle and Newt as soon as they appeared.
Initially, they were a bit tense, but upon seeing only two people, their expressions turned arrogant.
"Haha, you scared me. I thought it was those annoying pests from the Order of the Phoenix, but it's just an old man and a fresh kid..."
A werewolf with long limbs approached, his brown hair and beard tangled together, emitting a pungent, unpleasant odor.
"Tell me, how did you find this place?"
He grinned, revealing a set of dirty teeth, "If your answer satisfies me, I can consider..."
"Letting us go?" Kyle interjected.
"Let you go? Ha... hahaha!" The werewolf burst into laughter, and the other werewolves joined in, as if mocking the wizard's cowardice and absurdity.
"Since you've found this place, don't even think about leaving alive." The leading werewolf extended his wand, and Kyle could clearly see the yellow, long fingernails on his fingers, similar to Fenrir Greyback's.
"But if your answer satisfies me, I can at least let you die quickly."
"Hmm, I can do that." Kyle stroked his chin, as if in deep thought, "Will you keep your word?"
"Of course, I never lie." The werewolf grinned again.
But the next moment, he heard another piercing scream.
Not far away, a vine came to life, shooting straight towards a wizard's chest.
Due to not being in werewolf form, their bodies were as vulnerable as any other wizard. The sharp vine easily pierced the wizard's body, pinning him to the tree behind him.
"Damn wizard, how dare you trick me!" The leading werewolf roared, pointing his wand at Kyle.
"Avada..."
"Disarm!"
Before the Killing Curse was fully uttered, his wand flew out of his hand and landed in Kyle's grasp.
"What did you just say?" Kyle played with the wand, asking innocently.
Without waiting for a response, he waved his wand, and several faint magical words flashed in the air.
"Rapid Growth!"
The surrounding trees seemed to come alive, with writhing roots breaking through the ground like fifty-foot-long giant snakes, wrapping around everything in their path.
More trees burst from the ground, adding to the chaotic scene.
Some werewolves, who had never encountered such magic before, hesitated for a moment. But in that brief moment, their feet were entangled, followed by their legs and eventually their entire bodies, rendering them immobile.
"Use the Incendio Curse quickly!" someone shouted, realizing the situation.
But before he could draw his wand, he looked up and saw a pair of bright, deep purple eyes.
Then, he rolled his eyes and fell asleep right there on the battlefield, his loud snores mixing with the screams, sounding somewhat out of place.
