Chapter 768: Feng Ye's Identity, Erza's Surprise
Chapter 768: Feng Ye's Identity, Erza's Surprise
Inside the Fairy Tail guild hall.
Boom!
Erza lowered the massive claw of a giant monster she had been carrying with a loud thud and then turned towards the counter, saying, "The mission is complete. I've slain the requested magical beast."
"Amazing! You truly are incredible, Erza."
Gray Fullbuster and the others nearby swallowed their saliva, transforming into their Exceed forms.
"Welcome back," Makarov greeted Erza warmly. "Well done."
The mission Erza had undertaken was an SSS-class quest, a challenging endeavor even for an S-class wizard. However, Erza now possessed the strength of a Ten Wizard Saints-level wizard, making her more than capable of accomplishing such a feat single-handedly.
"Wow, Erza, you've become so strong!"
Gildarts, seated beside the counter, had just returned and was still adjusting to the guild's changes. He couldn't help but exclaim in astonishment.
Erza glanced at Gildarts and said, "Next week, I'll challenge you, Gildarts."
Erza wasn't particularly interested in becoming the strongest, but she yearned to battle powerful opponents to hone and improve herself. Within the guild, Feng Ye's strength surpassed her own, and Laxus and the others had already fallen to her might. Gildarts was the only one left who could provide her with a worthwhile battle.
With Gildarts' recent return, Erza wasn't about to let the opportunity slip by. However, having just completed a demanding mission, she felt somewhat weary and desired to unwind with Feng Ye first. Thus, she scheduled the match for the following week.
"Hahaha! Sure, but next week is also around the time for the guild's new round of S-class wizard exams, isn't it?"
Gildarts chuckled, gazing at Erza with a mix of sentiment and nostalgia. He recalled when Erza had first joined Fairy Tail; she had been a tiny, adorable girl. Now, she had blossomed into the formidable Fairy Queen, a powerhouse on par with the Ten Wizard Saints.
In fact, the Magic Council had recently been considering Erza for the Ten Wizard Saints title. It likely wouldn't be long before the final decision was made, and the last spot among the Ten Wizard Saints was officially granted to her.
While Gildarts and others shunned the title of Ten Wizard Saints, Erza embraced it. To her, it represented not only a symbol of status but also brought honor to Fairy Tail. Once she attained the title, Fairy Tail would hold three spots among the Ten Wizard Saints.
"Then it's settled," Erza said with a slight smile directed at Gildarts. She then looked at Makarov and added, "Master, I'll head back to rest now."
"Alright, off you go," Makarov waved at Erza dismissively.
Erza hoisted her spoils of battle and left the guild, making her way to her residence. With a swift kick, she opened the door and tossed her bounty into the garden.
Then,
She glanced towards the villa where Feng Ye resided, crossed her small courtyard, and arrived at his doorstep. With practiced ease, she pushed open the door and stepped into the living room.
Her gaze suddenly froze.
There,
In the living room, in addition to Wendy, were two little girls she didn't recognize at all. One had long, white hair and large eyes as pure and flawless as amber. Her adorable face was devoid of expression, giving her the appearance of an apathetic young girl. She sipped on her juice, unperturbed by the intrusion.
On the other side was a little girl with light golden curly hair and a pair of cute pink feathered ears. She stood behind the sofa, her arms wrapped affectionately around Feng Ye's neck as she nuzzled close to his cheek, chatting away with a playful smile.
"Ahem."
Erza cleared her throat.
Feng Ye looked toward the entrance and waved at Erza with a smile.
Wendy also turned and greeted her cheerfully, "Welcome back, big sister Erza."
"I'm back."
Maintaining her expression, Erza took off her shoes and stepped into the living room. Her eyes darted towards Feng Ye, conveying her unspoken request for an explanation about the two little girls, Mebis and Lillith.
Feng Ye smiled and calmly met Erza's gaze, "This is Lillith, my daughter, and this is Mebis..."
"Daughter...?"
Erza froze, a hint of surprise flashing across her face.
Wendy, seeing Erza's reaction, felt a sense of familiarity and realized that Erza had made the same mistake she had. She whispered from the side, "It's like this, big sister Erza. Lillith is a life form created by Feng Ye's magic."
"I see."
Erza's eyes widened as she quickly understood the situation, then she turned to Mebis and asked, "What about her?"
Mebis looked up at Erza and smiled adorably, "I'm not a created life form. I'm Mebis Vermillion, the first guild master of Fairy Tail."
Thud!
Erza, who was walking forward, froze in her tracks at Mebis's words, her eyes widening in shock.
"Ah... Ah?!?"
Erza exclaimed in surprise.
A moment later...
Erza finally recovered from the shocking revelation and, at the same time, learned of Feng Ye's true identity—Mebis's teacher, a legendary wizard from four hundred years ago, and the greatest existence that saved the entire continent of Ishgar!
Although she had often speculated that Feng Ye's origins might be extraordinary, she was still deeply shaken now that she knew the truth.
However...
Once she came to terms with the revelation and fully accepted this fact, she didn't feel any sense of distance between herself and Feng Ye due to his exposed identity.
Even the span of four hundred years didn't matter because she knew that Feng Ye was still the same person she admired and liked. Nothing had changed.
"By the way, let's keep my identity a secret from the others for now," Feng Ye said, smiling at Erza. "Others may not be able to accept it as quickly as you and Wendy did. Let's give them some time to adjust to Mebis's presence first."
"Mmhmm."
Erza nodded, then smiled.
Wendy paid it no mind.
Aside from Wendy, Erza was now the only member of Fairy Tail who knew Feng Ye's true identity, and this naturally made her very happy.
Feng Ye stretched his body and stood up, "Alright, Erza, you're just in time. Next, you can tell Mebis about your story."
"I'm looking forward to it."
Mebis beamed at Erza expectantly.
The Fairy Tail arc should be coming to a close soon, and I might pause updates after that. Writing five worlds has been quite tiring, and I want to take a break. During this time, I might work on other projects, but this book will not be discontinued. I will continue writing about other worlds leisurely. Thank you, everyone, for your continued support!
