Chapter 767: Storm Element
Chapter 767: Storm Element
If only they could communicate... Wait a second!
Lindsey stared at the elemental beings.
When they were still at a considerable distance, he suddenly realized something.
He quickly turned around and used his Builder's Hand to rearrange the Floating Cloud Chunks he had just collected.
Lindsey's player skills activated at full speed.
The Cloud Island, two-thirds of which he had dismantled just a few minutes ago, was quickly restored to its original size. However, compared to before, the interior of the island was now empty, and its shape had slightly changed.
Arona, hearing the clatter, asked curiously:
"Lindsey?"
"What are you doing?"
Lindsey explained with a straight face:
"Nothing, just doing some renovations to the island."
Lindsey's reasoning was simple.
The description of the Floating Cloud Chunks clearly stated their purpose.
Cloud Island was the birthplace of elemental beings, a home to these unique creatures.
If someone discovered their birthplace and destroyed it...
Lindsey didn't want to make a mistake in this matter.
While repairing the Cloud Island, he casually asked:
"Arona, living in the Dust Path World, how do you usually deal with these elemental beings when you encounter them?"
Arona thought carefully:
"Elemental beings, especially these Wind Elementals, are temperamental and unpredictable. They're usually more approachable during strong winds or rainy days."
It just so happened that it was a stormy day!
Lindsey asked further:
"What's the specific way to approach them?"
Arona replied earnestly:
"They dislike enclosed spaces and constraints. Powerful elemental beings also possess normal thinking, so they're not that bad in other aspects."
Lindsey nodded and released his Essence aura.
He tried to emulate Conrad's method of using Essence, expressing goodwill and friendliness through his will, to convey his intentions to the elemental beings.
"..."
Whoosh—
The wind spirits in the air blew towards him.
The elemental beings were indeed drawn to Lindsey's actions.
They quickly approached, and Lindsey felt a cool breeze on his face.
Perhaps due to the recent storm, the elemental beings were in a good mood, and with Lindsey's friendly gesture, their markers on the map had already started to turn green.
"..."
"Humans, why are you in the Cloud Realm?"
"If you were accidentally thrown here by a spatial transmission, we can take you back to the ground."
Lindsey looked up.
The Storm Element's body was composed of an incredibly concentrated mass of air currents, which, under the influence of Essence, took on a tangible form.
With the naked eye, one couldn't discern any eyes or mouth-like organs.
The sound it produced was created by the friction of air currents, resulting in a voice that sounded distinctly different from a human's.
At the same time, a flash of white light appeared in Lindsey's eyes, revealing clues.
His reconnaissance skill simultaneously provided the following information:
[Storm Element - A powerful elemental being born on Cloud Island, inherently free-spirited and averse to constraints, skilled in manipulating air currents.]
All the information matched up perfectly.
Lindsey began to probe further:
"We were indeed thrown here by a chaotic space, and just now, we encountered an incredibly powerful creature nearby!"
As Lindsey spoke, the Storm Elements across from him grew tense.
The air currents that made up their bodies intensified, and the leader among them asked in a voice like nails on a chalkboard:
"You saw the Storm God?"
"An evil deity?"
Lindsey glanced at the map, noting the friendly marker indicating the Storm Element's status. He continued, following the conversation, "Yes, we saw it."
"It's a massive creature with a serpentine body and wings! My companion and I witnessed its entire emergence. We discovered this island in the sky and came to investigate."
The Storm Elements were stirred by Lindsey's response, communicating rapidly through air currents, expressing their thoughts in a literal 'storm' of emotions.
Within seconds, they concluded their complex exchange at an extraordinary speed. The lead Storm Element made a decision:
"Humans, we can ensure your safety."
The lead Storm Element approached, minimizing the air currents around it to show goodwill. It explained to Lindsey and Arona, "In return, we ask that you accompany us."
"Our elders need you to answer some questions about that terrifying creature face-to-face."
Lindsey's tone turned serious, "That Feathered Serpent is dangerous and our enemy!"
The Storm Element's tone softened, and the marker on the map turned green, "That evil deity is an ancient beast sealed in the sky, a menace that has been dormant. Only the oldest of beings know its origins. Now that it's loose, we must vanquish it, or the floating islands of the Dust Path World will be destroyed in the storms it brings!"
Lindsey's worries dissipated upon hearing this explanation.
These Storm Elements were allies who helped him synthesize the Giant Beast's Heart! As for the Elemental Crystals, perhaps he could gather some by chance during their journey to confront the Feathered Serpent.
With their improved relationship, a peaceful resolution to the world's core space turmoil might be possible.
Lindsey saw the multiple benefits and readily agreed, "If we can assist you, we'd be delighted!"
"That beast treated us with hostility. Its emergence was filled with ill intent, clearly not a benevolent being. Anyone with a kind heart should consider it an enemy!"
Lindsey's response resonated with the Storm Elements' expectations.
The lead Storm Element, without further ado, consulted with its companion.
Both Storm Elements lowered their positions, creating a calm airflow around them. They opened a gap behind them, hovering in front of Lindsey and Arona:
"Time is of the essence. Please ride on our backs, and we'll take you directly to the Hurricane Fortress to meet the elders!"
Lindsey turned to Arona. He wanted to exchange glances and opinions, but all he saw was the black cloth covering her eyes.
Lindsey reached out and held Arona's hand.
Arona's blind eyes widened in surprise. The cold touch of his right hand conveyed his intentions, and she nodded in agreement:
"Very well, Lindsey. Let's go together!"
