Chapter 767: Mebius Awakens
Chapter 767: Mebius Awakens
Magnolia.
"I'm back."
Wendy unlocked the door and stepped into the living room, announcing her presence. She paused at the doorway, slipping off her shoes to reveal her white socks as she entered.
Taking a few steps forward, she suddenly halted, her mouth slightly agape as a look of surprise crossed her face. Her eyes fell upon the couch where a girl with snow-white hair and amber eyes, seemingly around the same age as her, sat gazing at her with a doe-eyed expression.
"Um...hello, who are you...?"
Wendy's timidity surfaced as she encountered the stranger, her voice meek as she spoke.
Just then, Feng Ye's voice carried over from the study.
"Her name is Lilith, she's my daughter."
"Ah...Eh?!"
Wendy's eyes widened in shock.
A flurry of chaotic thoughts rushed through her mind—questions like who Lilith's mother was, how they were about the same age, and the certainty that she wasn't a girl from the guild. Her thoughts left her flustered and at a loss for what to do.
Feng Ye emerged from the study, carrying two cups of juice. He handed one to Wendy and placed the other on the table, which Lilith took.
"Not what you're thinking."
Noticing the change in Wendy's expression, Feng Ye chuckled and explained, "Well...Lilith is a life form I created. You can understand it that way."
"Created...created life?"
Steam seemed to rise from Wendy's head as her small face turned as red as a ripe apple.
Great, the misunderstanding just got bigger.
Feng Ye sighed helplessly and sat down on the sofa, looking at Wendy. "You know about demons, right? The ones you encountered before."
"Y-yes, I know."
Wendy responded weakly.
Feng Ye nodded, "Those demons were created by Jellal using magic, and they are also the product of his condensed power."
Hearing Feng Ye's words, Wendy opened her mouth, the blush on her face gradually fading as realization dawned on her. "So, she's also..."
"Yes, something like that."
Feng Ye nodded slightly, "Lilith is the crystallization of my condensed power, and that's the relationship between us."
Wendy gradually calmed down and looked at Lilith with curiosity.
Lilith took a sip of her juice, her amber eyes fixed on Wendy as she held the cup with both hands. After a moment of silence, she spoke, "It seems you're quite favored by Father."
"Ah..."
Caught off guard by Lilith's statement, Wendy didn't know how to respond. After some hesitation, she carefully introduced herself, "Umm, I'm Wendy Marvell. Nice to meet you."
Lilith remained silent, holding her juice cup and not saying a word, creating an awkward atmosphere.
"Lilith has a rather aloof personality and doesn't interact much with others," Feng Ye explained with a smile. "But her actual age is older than yours, so you can call her sister if you like."
Feng Ye's smile was reassuring.
However, it would indeed be strange for Wendy to call Lilith "sister," as she referred to Feng Ye as "brother." The terminology was already confusing.
Wendy was unsure how to address Lilith, feeling that calling her "niece" would be even weirder than calling her "sister." After much deliberation, she opted for the latter.
After all, the relationship between Feng Ye and Lilith could be defined as either father-daughter or siblings, so it wasn't a big deal. Thus, calling Feng Ye "brother" and Lilith "sister" made sense.
It had been about half a month since the Six Demon Generals were defeated. During this period, Gildarts returned to the guild after a three-year absence, bringing news of the failed 100-year quest. Aside from that, not much else of significance had transpired.
Wendy, who had been diligently undertaking solo missions recently, nodded obediently and replied in a soft voice, "Yes, I've encountered quite a lot. I'll go take a bath first, Feng Ye brother. Please wait for me."
As soon as she finished speaking, she scampered back to her room. She found a set of clean pajamas and, holding them to her chest, dashed into the bathroom. After rinsing off the dust and dirt from her day's adventures, she emerged, her pale, petite feet padding softly on the floor, clad in a light pink bathrobe. Tendrils of steam still rose from her head, indicating she had only just finished bathing.
The bathrobe was wrapped snugly around her, and although she had grown accustomed to being around Feng Ye, including sharing baths and hot springs, now that she was over twelve years old, a hint of shyness crept into her demeanor.
"Feng Ye brother, have you eaten dinner yet?" she asked.
"Not yet," he replied. "Mira just got back, and she's preparing the meal."
"I encountered a lot of things during my recent mission..."
Wendy sat down next to Feng Ye and began recounting her experiences, while he listened intently, sipping a cup of coffee and offering an occasional smile.
And then, suddenly, as if sensing something, his gaze paused momentarily.
Wendy, being an observant Dragon Slayer with keen senses, noticed the slight change in Feng Ye's expression and paused her narrative, tilting her head curiously. "What is it?"
"It's nothing," Feng Ye replied, turning to face her with a smile. "You can continue."
The reason for his momentary surprise was that someone had awakened—someone very significant. She was the founding master of Fairy Tail, and also Feng Ye's only disciple—
Mebius Vivamilio.
...
Within the Heart of the Phoenix Guild, a sphere of light hung in the air, and within it, Mebius floated, naked and curled up with her knees tucked under her chin. Her pale golden hair drifted gently around her.
Then, her eyelashes fluttered, and she slowly opened her eyes. For a moment, she looked around, her large eyes filled with a fleeting confusion before gradually regaining a hint of awareness. She descended from the air and landed gently on the ground.
"What time is it now?" she murmured, rubbing her eyes sleepily as she glanced around.
At that moment, a figure emerged from the back of the palace—it was Acalia, who offered Mebius a warm smile. "You're awake, Mebius."
"Sister Acalia," Mebius greeted her, waving gently.
Acalia walked over and handed her a light-colored dress and some clothes. "It's been a hundred years. I woke up a little earlier than you."
Mebius accepted the garments and asked, "Where's the Master?"
Acalia smiled gently. "The Master is currently a member of the Fairy Tail guild you founded. She seems to have joined incognito and is enjoying herself immensely."
"Eh? Master joined Fairy Tail?" Mebius exclaimed, her eyes widening in surprise.
Acalia nodded slightly. "Yes, the Master hasn't left yet, and she seems to be having a wonderful time. I suggest you go find her discreetly first."
