Chapter 762: This Must Be Dumbledore's Plot
Chapter 762: This Must Be Dumbledore's Plot
"Malfoy, Goyle, Crabbe... What do you want this time?"
Before Ivan could respond, Harry angrily stepped in front of Malfoy, demanding an answer.
On the day Voldemort was resurrected, in that graveyard, Harry clearly saw Lucius standing among the Death Eaters, even trying to attack him. Therefore, Harry was very cautious around Malfoy and his group.
Ron, Hermione, and Ginny also drew their wands.
"I'm not here for you, Potter!" Malfoy glanced at Harry, speaking with a haughty tone. However, when his gaze shifted to Ivan, his expression became complicated.
He opened his mouth as if to say something but stopped, then said, "I was just passing by. Is that a crime? Move out of the way!"
With that, Malfoy led Goyle and Crabbe, squeezing past them.
Harry and Ron kept a close eye on them, as if trying to find something suspicious in Malfoy's actions to justify using their wands to subdue them.
Unfortunately, by the time the three of them disappeared, they hadn't found any reason to act.
Ivan had a vague feeling that Malfoy's look at him was strange, but he didn't pay it much mind.
"Alright, let's not worry about them. Let's find a compartment and sit down to talk", Ginny interjected, noticing the tense atmosphere.
Ivan nodded, and Harry and the others put their wands away. They hurried to find seats before the train left.
Hermione and Ron didn't join them; as newly appointed Prefects, they needed to report to the Head Boy.
Afterward, the Prefects had to patrol the train to prevent mischievous students from causing trouble.
After Hermione explained the duties of a Prefect, Ivan felt even more relieved he hadn't been chosen. Otherwise, he would have wasted a lot of time this semester on trivial matters.
However, what troubled Ivan was that while they were searching for an empty compartment, many Gryffindor young wizards mistook him for a new Prefect and enthusiastically congratulated him. Ivan had to patiently explain himself to each of them.
"Harry, Ivan, come over here. There's an empty seat", Ginny called out from another compartment, her face lighting up with joy.
Ivan and Harry quickly walked over. Since they had arrived late, most compartments were either full or had only one seat left, which wouldn't be enough for the three of them.
When Ivan reached the door, he saw Luna was already in the compartment.
The young witch was leaning against the window, a thin wand tucked behind her ear, and a large newspaper in her hands. Sunlight streamed in from the sky, illuminating her golden hair.
"Hi, Ivan!" Luna heard the commotion at the door and turned her head. Upon seeing Ivan, her face lit up with happiness.
"Luna, it's been a while", Ivan smiled and, with the young witch's permission, had Harry and Ginny bring in their luggage.
Meanwhile, the Hogwarts Express, which had been stationary for some time, slowly began to move. The group inside the compartment swayed slightly, quickly stowing their luggage and sitting down.
"What are you reading, Luna?" Ginny asked, curious about the copy of The Quibbler in Luna's hands.
The front page featured a moving image, showing a vast area of collapsed ruins and a house engulfed in flames, with a strange Dark Fog hovering in the air.
The headline boldly read, "Dark Lord Defeated in Knockturn Alley."
Ginny was initially startled, but after reading the content below, she burst into laughter, doubling over.
The article reported on the disturbance that had occurred in Knockturn Alley over a month ago.
The writer believed that the root cause of the disturbance was the Dark Lord leading the Death Eaters in a massive assault on Knockturn Alley, which ended in a disastrous defeat due to some unknown reasons.
The mastermind behind all this was Dumbledore, who had orchestrated a stunning plot to eliminate Minister Fudge.
"This is too strange... Why would the Dark Lord attack Knockturn Alley? How could this be related to Professor Dumbledore wanting to assassinate Minister Fudge..."
Ginny muttered, adding that the Daily Prophet had already reported on the disturbance in Knockturn Alley. It was just a bunch of wizards getting drunk during a bonfire and accidentally casting spells.
Harry glanced at it and treated it as a joke. If Voldemort were that easy to defeat, Sirius Black and the others wouldn't be constantly discussing strategies to deal with him.
As the two of them were silently criticizing the article, Ivan's voice suddenly rang out in the compartment.
"Luna, you should send a letter back later, telling Mr. Lovegood to be more cautious and perhaps go into hiding. The Dark Lord will be very displeased if he sees this newspaper..."
Harry and Ginny turned their heads sharply. Ivan was looking at The Quibbler with a serious expression, clearly not joking.
To their surprise, Luna seriously considered Ivan's suggestion, saying, "But where can we hide? My father has to stay in Britain to write articles. He won't want to move too far away."
"If there's no other choice, you can temporarily move to Knockturn Alley... It's relatively safe, and the security is quite good", Ivan suggested after some thought.
Before he fully understands his own capabilities, Voldemort is unlikely to dare to cause trouble in Knockturn Alley again. Plus, there are a lot of Aurors patrolling the area, ensuring safety.
"Knockturn Alley?! That's where Dark Wizards live! How can you suggest Luna's father move there?" Ginny couldn't help but exclaim.
She remembered her mother repeatedly warning her to stay away from Knockturn Alley. It was said that the place was home to the most evil wizards, who could easily kidnap someone if you weren't careful.
Such a place had nothing to do with safety.
Harry nodded in agreement. During his first-year summer, he had accidentally wandered into Knockturn Alley once. If Ivan hadn't arrived in time, he might have been taken away by an old hag. The thought still gave him chills.
"That's an old impression from a few years ago, Ginny. In fact, those Dark Wizards have long since reformed and are eager to be good people!" Ivan said earnestly, looking at the two of them.
"If you have the time to visit the place, you'll be surprised by the changes there..."
