Chapter 762: The Dark Fusion
Chapter 762: The Dark Fusion
Decade had dreamed of this moment countless times.
Even those closest to him, like his loyal sidekick and classmates he spent every day with, didn't truly understand him. Everyone thought they knew him, but they were all mistaken.
They didn't know the real Yucheng Jito.
Decade was a rare individual, appearing carefree and cheerful on the surface but harboring a deep, hidden inner self. He seemed like a true optimist, but it was all a facade, a mask he wore to hide his true thoughts.
And now, he was facing this moment.
Ever since learning about the Tyrant, he hadn't gone a day without thinking about it. The darkness within him, the oppressive dictator in an alternate world, was an opponent he had to defeat, a destiny he had to confront.
Now, he stood in the deepest chamber of the Tyrant's Castle.
Facing the pitch-black armor, the physical manifestation of the darkest fear hidden deep within him, even from himself.
Decade faced the Tyrant, and the Tyrant faced Decade.
It was a strange feeling, like looking into a mirror. He could almost sense that the reflection was himself, only darker and more terrifying.
They stood facing each other, silent for a while, as the air grew heavy, making breathing difficult.
"You're the Tyrant," Decade spoke.
But as he spoke, he felt odd addressing a face identical to his own.
"My inner darkness," Decade muttered.
"No," the Tyrant responded, his voice identical to Decade's, but devoid of any emotion, making it sound forced.
"You are my inner weakness," he said. "The only weakness I have. But after today..."
The Tyrant opened his unique Duel Disk.
"This weakness will be eliminated."
Decade took a deep breath and closed his eyes lightly.
What had to come would come, and what he had to face, he would face.
Today was the day, and this was the moment.
He would confront himself.
"Duel!" x2
[Decade, LP: 4000]
[Tyrant, LP: 4000]
"I'll start. Draw!"
The Tyrant drew a card and immediately summoned a monster without hesitation.
"I summon 'Elemental Hero Clayman' in Defense Position!"
The bulky Clayman appeared on the field. Its card hovered horizontally beneath it, and Clayman crouched on the card, arms crossed in front of him.
It was the same card as Decade's, but even this Elemental Hero seemed to have been corrupted, its eyes glowing with a dangerous crimson light.
[Elemental Hero Clayman, DEF: 2000]
"Clayman," Decade said, his expression unreadable.
Facing an opponent with his own face, using the same Elemental Hero, created a peculiar feeling.
"I set a card. End my turn." The Tyrant declared.
"My turn! Draw!" Decade said.
This duel was one he couldn't afford to lose, for himself and for all the worlds he had traveled through.
"I activate the Field Spell 'Fusion Gate'!"
Decade raised his hand, and the chaotic fusion portal opened in mid-air, leading to an unknown realm.
"As long as 'Fusion Gate' remains on the field, Fusion Summon can be conducted without a Fusion Spell. You can directly Fusion Summon by removing the required Fusion Materials from your hand or field to the game."
"He threw out the two cards in his hand. The two monster cards burst into golden light in mid-air, and the golden light projected a human form, transforming into a green Winged Hero and a voluptuously-curved Flame Doll.
The Elemental Hero couple, the hard-working duo.
"Remove 'Elemental Hero Wingman' and 'Elemental Hero Flame Doll' from play," Decade declared, "and Fusion Summon! My beloved hero—
—Elemental Hero Flame Wingman!"
Wingman and Flame Doll were both swept into the pitch-black vortex in mid-air, vanishing from sight. A powerful energy burst forth from the black hole, with green whirlwinds carrying surging flames, and the flame-encircled storm plummeted to the ground. The single, pristine wing dispersed the raging flames, and within the burning storm, the hero's figure materialized.

[Elemental Hero Flame Wingman, ATK 2100]
"If you symbolize the deepest darkness in my heart, then let me burn it away with the hottest flames!" Decade shouted, "Elemental Hero Flame Wingman, attack 'Elemental Hero Clayman'!
Flame Shot!"
Flame Wingman's body soared into the air, as if riding a whirlwind. The wind itself ignited, enveloping him entirely, and after reaching the highest point, he unleashed a flying kick, as if transforming into a burning cannonball!
Clayman was penetrated by the blast, and with a loud boom, he was blown to pieces.
"Flame Wingman's effect: When it destroys a monster in battle, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the destroyed monster's ATK." Decade explained, "Clayman's ATK is 800, so I'll take 800 points of damage!"
Flame Wingman landed in front of Tyrant, raising the dragon head component in his hand, and the flames in his mouth transformed into a spiral-shaped blast that exploded from Tyrant's body.
Tyrant closed his eyes, expressionless as he endured the scorching flames.
[Tyrant, LP 4000 → LP 3200]
"I activate a Set card." Tyrant said, "Trap Card 'Hero Mark'.
When one of your monsters is destroyed in battle and sent to the Graveyard, Special Summon an 'Elemental Hero' of Level 4 or lower from your hand or Deck."
A spotlight shot out from the opened Trap, illuminating a mark in mid-air that called for a hero.
Tyrant flipped through his Deck, and with a slight flick of his fingers, he drew a card.
"Special Summon 'Elemental Hero Wingman' from the Deck."
A green whirlwind also rose on Tyrant's field, but its color was darker and more profound. As Wingman appeared, his color was even more subdued compared to Decade's side, and his eyes also flickered with a hint of evil.
[Elemental Hero Wingman, DEF 1000]
Decade: "I Set a card, and my turn ends."
"My turn, I draw."
Tyrant drew a card but didn't look at his hand; instead, he gazed at Flame Wingman on Decade's field.
"A beloved hero? You're indeed my weakest point."
"What did you say?" Decade frowned.
"Only those with power can be called heroes," Tyrant said coldly, "Justice without power can't accomplish anything; power itself is justice.
And this card symbolizes power, representing the decisive difference between you and me!
I activate the Magic Card 'Dark Synthesis'!
A card that fuses elements into demons and darkness!"
