Chapter 76: The Bathroom is Not a Place for Battle
Chapter 76: The Bathroom is Not a Place for Battle
"Conduct special training for graduating students and those who have performed exceptionally..."
After some thought, Hiruzen Sarutobi suggested, "I think you're underestimating your abilities, Mu Yue. Why don't we do this: in addition to your special training plan, we'll also advertise to this year's graduating genin, and they can join your program if they're interested."
Hiruzen smiled at Mu Yue and asked, "What do you think, Mu Yue?"
"Since the Third Hokage has such faith in me, I will certainly give it my best effort," Mu Yue replied respectfully.
Mu Yue welcomed the large number of students. In fact, he wished he could teach hundreds of students every day.
According to Mu Yue's deduction, the number of students in a class would also affect the teaching rewards, which was why he received rewards for teaching at the Ninja Academy.
When teaching Obito and his team, the number of students didn't meet the requirement, so there was no teaching reward.
If all the fourth-grade students were assembled, along with outstanding students from other classes and some graduated genin, gathering a total of over three hundred people wouldn't be a problem.
Mu Yue wondered if the teaching reward would be even better with a group of over two hundred people.
"If you do well with this special training, Mu Yue, and you're able to improve the strength of the students and genin, you won't have to wait until the end of the year. You can be promoted to a special jonin as soon as the training is over," Hiruzen said with a smile.
If Mu Yue could consistently replicate the teaching results of Class 1-1, he wouldn't just be promoted to a special jonin; he could even replace Hiruzen Sarutobi as the leader of the teacher squad.
However, if that time ever came, he would have to have a serious talk with Danzo about Mu Yue's identity.
A teacher at the Ninja Academy could be a member of Root, but the leader of the teacher squad couldn't be.
"I will inform the Ninja Academy to cooperate with you on this. You will be in charge of this endeavor," Hiruzen said.
Mu Yue expressed his gratitude and then headed to the backyard to begin the weekend's training with Asuma.
"Teacher Mu Yue, are you really going to hold special training?" Asuma asked curiously.
He had just happened to overhear the conversation between Mu Yue and Hiruzen.
"Since the Third Hokage trusts me so much, I certainly won't let him down," Mu Yue replied with a smile.
"I think the old man just wants to work you to the bone," Asuma said, sticking up for Mu Yue. "Teaching an entire grade of students, plus graduated genin—that's a lot of work for one person."
"And he didn't even mention how the pay will be calculated during the special training period. If it's the same as the regular pay, Teacher Mu Yue, you'll be getting a raw deal," Asuma added.
Hearing Asuma's words, Mu Yue thought that if Asuma were also his disciple, his trust level would probably be quite high, as he was already speaking up for Mu Yue against Hiruzen.
"I didn't become a teacher for the money," Mu Yue replied with a smile. "I just want what's best for my students."
If any other teacher had said this, Asuma would have scoffed and thought them a hypocrite.
But when Mu Yue said it, Asuma felt that it was only natural.
If Mu Yue were in it for the money, he could have easily slacked off and not put in so much effort into his training.
"Since Teacher Mu Yue, you're really going to organize special training, I'll definitely bring my teammates along to learn from you," Asuma said, indicating that he would bring his team to support Mu Yue. He was a genin who had graduated just this year.
To be honest, Asuma felt that Mu Yue's strength might not be as great as a jonin's, but his teaching ability was definitely far superior to that of his own jonin teacher.
Every weekend, after training with Mu Yue, he felt that he had gained a lot.
A month of training with Mu Yue would undoubtedly yield greater results than their usual training.
......
"Kakashi, let's have a youthful and passionate spar!"
"I understand your enthusiasm, but next time, could you please not barge in while I'm taking a bath?" Kakashi replied helplessly to Might Guy, who had suddenly appeared as he lay in the bathtub.
"Then could you please leave?" Kakashi asked, feeling a headache coming on as Guy stood there explaining himself.
Out of all his scarce friends, it seemed like only Rin was normal.
Guy finally turned to leave, but as he reached the door, he turned back curiously, causing Kakashi to lose his patience and throw a bottle at him.
"Next time, I will definitely set up traps in front of the bathroom!" Kakashi warned after his shower.
Ignoring Kakashi's words, Guy clenched his fists, his face flushed with excitement, and shouted:
"Kakashi, let's have another passionate fight with all our might!"
"This time, my strength is different from before. If you're careless, you will lose."
"Let's take it to the yard. I hope your strength matches your mouth," Kakashi said nonchalantly.
"This time, I came in first in the Ninja Academy's grade. Don't underestimate me," Guy boasted, giving a thumbs-up and laughing.
"Anyone can get first place just by participating, right?" Kakashi countered, his face expressionless, as he had never lost a test in the Ninja Academy.
The two walked into the yard, nodded at each other, and the battle began.
"Konoha Whirlwind!"
Knowing Kakashi's strength, Guy immediately used the chakra burst technique he had just learned to rush in front of Kakashi and kick out with a whirlwind kick.
Although he had not yet fully mastered the Body Flicker Technique, he could still use it to accelerate.
"Hmm? That speed."
Kakashi had not expected Guy to display such speed, and not having time to dodge, he blocked Guy's kick with his arm, taking a few steps back.
Guy pressed his advantage, rushing in again to prevent Kakashi from using ninjutsu with an extreme offensive rhythm.
But Kakashi was not Obito, and to Guy's surprise, he found himself unable to gain the upper hand in the taijutsu clash and gradually falling behind.
"Konoha Senpuu!"
Kakashi, regaining the upper hand, kicked out with a whirlwind kick that sent Guy flying, and in an instant, he had a kunai pressed against Guy's neck.
"Kakashi, your Konoha Whirlwind is a bit off," Guy honestly pointed out.
"As long as I win the fight, it doesn't matter," Kakashi said, putting away the kunai.
He had only seen Guy use it a few times, so how could he perfectly replicate it?
Kakashi just wanted to pay Guy back for barging into the bathroom and give him a hard time.
But to his surprise, Guy didn't seem to mind being defeated by his specialty, taijutsu.
"As expected of my rival, you are truly strong," Guy said proudly.
This time, Kakashi had defeated him without even relying much on ninjutsu.
Seeing Guy's expression, Kakashi was at a loss for words, and one might have thought Guy was the victor of the battle.
"Next time I challenge you, I will be even stronger!" Feeling the fire within him, Guy bid Kakashi farewell and ran off to train.
"Guy's strength has been increasing at a much faster rate lately..." Kakashi thought, watching Guy's retreating back.
Guy's performance today had surprised him, especially that initial kick, which had truly caught him off guard—something that would never have happened before.
