Chapter 758: The Unfearing Warrior in the Skin
Chapter 758: The Unfearing Warrior in the Skin
"Ascend the civilization..." Manila the Third muttered to himself.
It sounded like an extremely risky plan.
No one could guarantee that the Skrull planet would win every future war. One misstep, and the entire race could be wiped out!
But given the Skrull planet's resource endowments, perhaps this was the only way forward, especially for the god-tier beings. If they didn't advance, they would only be waiting for death.
"Do Plante and the others agree with this plan?" Manila the Third asked.
Before Manina could speak, a white light spot appeared in the center of the grand hall.
The light spot quickly expanded.
An elderly man in a fiery red mech stepped out of the light, none other than Plante, who had arrived via spatial teleportation.
"Hey, old buddy, congratulations on your successful advancement!" Plante's boisterous voice echoed through the hall.
"Old buddy, you look pretty good too!" Manila the Third excitedly walked forward, extending his hand to tightly grip his old friend, whom he hadn't seen in fifty years.
Manina the Third and Plante were close friends, the two brightest stars of Skrull's first golden age, and the ones who transformed the Sunlight Kingdom from an obscure small nation into an empire.
Now, the two old friends meeting felt incredibly warm.
"I heard from Little Thirteen that you're planning to invade a planet. You guys are really going all out even without me, huh?" Manila the Third teased, looking at his old friend.
"Opportunities must be seized, old buddy," Plante chuckled, but his tone was heavy. "We don't have much time left! If we two old bones don't take this chance, have you thought about what the Sunlight Empire will do 300 years from now?"
"Ah, you're right," Manila the Third sighed.
They both reached the peak of the god tier, seemingly glorious, with no equals on the entire planet. Yet, their lifespans were only a mere 300 years left.
Worst of all, the Sunlight Empire lacked successors. There was no one who could take their place.
It was unknown if anyone would reach the god tier in the next 300 years, and there was even the possibility that the Sunlight Empire would have no god-tier beings after they were gone.
On the other hand, the neighboring Runkte Alliance had two god-tier beings, Stimm and Victoria, who, although only at the lower god tier, were new generation god-tier beings born in the last 500 years.
If they, the two old guys, didn't put in the effort, the Sunlight Empire would be at the mercy of the Runkte people in 300 years.
"Old ancestor," Manina suddenly spoke up. "You don't need to worry too much about the lack of successors. I recently discovered a genius who has already advanced to the seventh tier at less than 200 years old. With sufficient resources, I believe he can reach the god tier within the next 300 years."
"Oh? Who is he?" Manila the Third asked curiously.
"His name is Lance. He is currently the overall commander of the Skrull expeditionary force. I'll call him over right now," Manina replied.
"Alright, call him over. I want to meet this young genius," Manila the Third said happily.
...
...
Leaving the events in the Sunlight Imperial Palace aside for now.
Three hours later, Zhong Feng arrived at the Sunlight Imperial Capital, Sun City, by plane.
He had the forged identification documents given to him by Senior Zhu, so he encountered no obstacles on his journey and arrived smoothly at his destination.
Leaving the airport, he hailed a floating taxi and instructed the AI system with his destination.
After getting in, the taxi immediately levitated and flew toward the city center.
Zhong Feng turned his head to gaze out the window, admiring the scenery outside.
Sun City was bustling with activity, and towering skyscrapers that pierced the clouds could be seen everywhere along the route.
The fiery pillar in the Imperial Sun Palace had yet to fully dissipate.
Many Skrell on the streets and in the windows of the buildings along the way were looking in the direction of the fiery pillar.
Zhong Feng wasn't idle either.
He took out a camera, a local model from Sun City, from his backpack and snapped pictures of all the notable scenery along the road, collecting valuable data.
The floating taxi zigzagged through the streets.
Finally, Zhong Feng arrived at a small alley in the southern part of the city called "Praise the Shining." There, a large five-story red building stood, which was the Sun City office of the Tiki organization.
Currently, this office hadn't been discovered by the Sun Empire's intelligence agency, "Flare."
In fact, the entire Tiki organization was unknown to the Flare agency.
This wasn't because Tiki was particularly skilled; it was mainly because the organization had only been established by Master Zhu recently, less than two months ago. It was normal for Flare to be unaware of such a small organization.
...
Stepping out of the floating taxi, Zhong Feng pressed his fingerprint on the door to pay, then prepared to turn and enter the building.
But at that moment, the floating taxi swayed left and right, then spoke in a very cheerful tone, "Thank you for riding with us! Meeting a customer like you is just so! Exciting! Remember to call me again next time!"
The floating taxi happily spun twice in the sky, then flew away without a backward glance.
The passersby on both sides of the street, hearing the taxi's voice, turned to look at Zhong Feng with curious gazes.
Zhong Feng felt extremely embarrassed.
He hurriedly told the surrounding passersby, "This is a special service of the floating taxi," then tightened his clothes and quickly left the scene.
The "special service" of the floating taxis was a custom feature designed by the Sun City Floating Taxi Company for a specific group.
The Sun Empire had a very unique group that revered violence and strongly despised everything related to the Renkter people.
These special groups received significant privileges in various aspects such as transportation and privacy. So, the fake identity given to Zhong Feng by Master Zhu was that of a member of this special group.
As a member of this special group, Zhong Feng could enjoy "exclusive services" when using Sun City's taxis, such as "normal mode," "immersive racing mode," "sleep mode," and dozens of other modes.
Out of curiosity, Zhong Feng had randomly chosen the "lively mode."
This turned out to be a decision he deeply regretted.
After selecting this mode, the entire floating taxi seemed to come alive, becoming especially lively and animated.
Not only did the car body sway left and right, but the AI system inside kept cooing at him, much like a pampered pet dog.
Especially when paying for the ride, the taxi's voice nearly made him want to die of embarrassment.
"Really embarrassing, I shouldn't have chosen the lively mode," he thought to himself.
But then, he suddenly realized that he was wearing a Skrell disguise.
Since he was in a Skrell disguise, why should he be embarrassed?
He lifted his head and chest, walking confidently toward the opposite building, his embarrassment completely gone.
A person in a disguise knows no fear.
