Chapter 755: A Historic Meeting
Chapter 755: A Historic Meeting
At the frontline battlefield, the mysterious white energy acted as a barrier, halting the clash between Dressrosa and the Raja Kingdom Army.
Cyrus stood stunned, staring at the brilliant glow with confusion. "What is that?"
Rebecca felt equally bewildered. Though this white energy belonged to an Enemy, it exuded a strange sense of security—far more reassuring than her father's presence.
"The King will arrive shortly."
Drawing his Longsword, Cyrus stomped forward with his prosthetic leg, gripping the blade with both hands. His voice deepened. "No one will stop us now. We must prove our progress to the King!"
Pushing off the ground with explosive force, he surged forward, unleashing a mighty roar as his Longsword slashed downward at the white energy.
Clang!!
The blade struck with a crisp metallic sound but failed to penetrate even an inch.
"Father’s sword was blocked?" Rebecca gasped, stunned.
She knew her father’s swordsmanship well—ranked second in Dressrosa, surpassed only by King David himself. Yet this strike had been effortlessly countered. What was this white energy’s origin?
Within the radiant haze, Rebecca glimpsed shifting, amorphous shapes—humanoid yet distorted, as if fused together.
More like a Monster.
"If they attack us, we have the right to defend ourselves!"
A voice echoed from within the white energy. Moments later, Rebecca heard the unmistakable sound of firearms cocking. "Open fire!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
High-speed Objects erupted from the white energy. Though Rebecca couldn’t discern their forms, their intent was clear—lethal.
She barely managed a shout: "Dodge—!"
A sharp whistling sound grazed her cheek, leaving a shallow cut.
She spun around in terror. The Dressrosa soldiers were under relentless bombardment from these enigmatic projectiles. At this speed and proximity, evasion was impossible!
Whoosh!!
Suddenly, a violent shockwave tore through from the flank, barreling toward Rebecca.
"Ugh!"
Instinctively shielding herself, she felt the shockwave buffet her hardened armor, the metallic clanking echoing around her. Yet the projectiles targeting the soldiers were scattered.
Turning, she saw a black shadow, wolf-like in its ferocity, charging forward. Within moments, its form sharpened—sleek black-and-silver armor, a helmet with a tail resembling a wolf’s mane, and a massive greatsword held mid-swing.
Rebecca’s eyes widened. "Is that—"
That armor, that greatsword—there was no mistaking it. King David himself had arrived.
"He’s here already?!"
Behind them, Dressrosa officers flushed with shame. They had hoped to fight their own battle, yet once again, their king had intervened too late, and too easily.
Cyrus, move aside! This isn’t your fight!"
After deflecting the bullets, David charged forward, his greatsword cleaving through the white energy that had immobilized Cyrus.
Nodding, Cyrus stepped back. Since his blade had failed to pierce the white energy, he knew he was outmatched.
"Cut through?!"
Wilbur gaped in disbelief. This was Kas’s Justice Will—a defense even the Solitary Crimson couldn’t breach. Could Dressrosa truly have someone this strong?
While outsiders saw only a blinding glow, those within saw clearly. David’s full armor was unfamiliar to Wilbur, yet the commander sensed an overwhelming might.
"Commander, this man is formidable", Wilbur muttered.
Especially when Donald’s alertness to Kas had sharpened his instincts.
"Wicked power never lasts."
Kas’s eyes flared. The white energy surged violently as he clenched his fist and slammed it against his chest. "Tenfold!!"
Instantly, Wilbur raised his arm. "Raise weapons! Fire!"
Simultaneously, Donald’s figure blurred. Under the Tenfold Speed enhancement, he drew his cross spear and lunged at David like a hunting leopard.
David had just sliced through the white energy when a sudden protrusion shot toward him. Twisting his greatsword forward, the blade caught the cross spear mid-strike.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
More spikes erupted from the white energy. David’s body coiled like a spring, his sword repelling the cross spear with thunderous force. A frenzied shockwave erupted from the blade, dispersing the white energy. Bullets rained onto the ground.
David glanced down. "Bullets?" He lifted his gaze to the white energy. "Are you humans inside?"
A voice rang out: "Impressive swordsmanship—frenzied yet fearless. You embody Justice through your aura, your blade, your emotions. Why serve this Despicable Dressrosa? You should join the Navy!"
"Navy?"
David’s expression shifted. He shook his head. "I would, if not for my mission. But I am Dressrosa’s King—my duty binds me!"
Gripping his blade, he lowered his stance. "You’re strong—no wonder they stalled. Even I may falter, but this is the final path to my Lord. At any cost, I will break through!"
He felt the white energy’s unyielding will—a formidable Enemy. Under normal circumstances, he’d avoid such a costly engagement. With Dressrosa’s dwindling resources, a prolonged conflict would cripple them.
Yet for his mission, he had no choice.
"I am my Lord’s knight—I will not lose!"
"King?! Lord?!"
Suddenly, a familiar voice pierced the white energy. "David?!"
"Wilbur?!" David’s visor darkened. "Is that you? Why are you here? Is the Lord behind this?!"
The white energy dissipated, revealing grotesque, indescribable figures.
"Navy?!" Cyrus’s eyes widened behind him. "Why are they here?!"
David lowered his sword, his helmet’s eyes narrowing. "Commander Wilbur? You’ve come to stop me?"
Removing his helmet, David revealed his face.
"Is this truly King David?" Kas stared, his brow furrowed. "Strange. A man of Justice—yet accused of slaughtering Laya Kingdom’s innocent Civilians and burning their villages. That is not the man I see."
David’s expression turned puzzled. "I’ve never issued such orders."
