Chapter 750: A Unique Cycle System (First Update)
Chapter 750: A Unique Cycle System (First Update)
How are souls born in the Marvel Universe?
Jerry has made detailed observations. New souls are born when new life is conceived, according to the world's life laws.
These are also the souls that have already died and dispersed into the universe for countless years, reassembling once more.
At its core, the universe operates on the principle of energy conservation. The dissipation and rebirth of souls, in Jerry's view, is another manifestation of this principle.
Countless souls, over countless years, become the purest soul energy, free from any impurities. This energy is then distributed through the universe's life laws, birthing new lives.
These souls die again, are reclaimed, and after countless years, transform back into the purest soul energy, ready to become new lives.
This is the primary cycle of souls in the Marvel Universe. The total soul energy never decreases; in fact, it increases with the expansion of the universe and the efforts of the Celestials.
The Celestials create life not by using existing soul energy, but by converting other forms of energy. As long as the Celestials continue to create planets and life, the overall soul energy will increase, making the universe even stronger.
Of course, this involves many complex laws and principles, which are not as simple as they sound.
However, now Jerry has observed a completely different model, a cycle system that closely resembles the underworld and reincarnation from the myths of his previous life.
This system also adheres to the principle of energy conservation, but it erases the memories of souls after death and reincarnates them directly into new bodies.
This skips the step of dead souls transforming into pure soul energy, significantly reducing the time required. A soul only needs to meet the reincarnation conditions after about two hundred years.
It's difficult to say which system is better, but for Jerry, the new model is certainly very informative.
Studying the principles of this world's cycle laws will greatly assist him in the construction of his single universe and the enhancement of his power.
"No wonder many witches prefer death over becoming ghosts; life in the Netherworld is actually quite pleasant."
With the guidance of Death, Jerry quickly toured the eight major cities of the Netherworld, gaining an understanding of how human souls live after death.
Upon death, humans are directly drawn into this world and distributed to one of the eight cities based on their region of origin.
Each city has its own administrators to maintain basic order, much like life on Earth, but without the worries of illness or earning a living.
Those witches who, for various reasons, refuse to be drawn into this world and become ghosts remain in the human realm. However, due to the unique nature of ghosts, they cannot experience the sensations of life, and over time, this becomes a torment worse than death.
"Tell me, with so many souls in the Netherworld, why do you need to create the Three Holy Artifacts to lure souls from the human world to serve you?"
At this point, Jerry suddenly realized that, as the god of the Netherworld, Death, though not a creator god, shouldn't need to forcibly recruit servants from the human world.
Death sighed upon hearing this:
"Although I am the god of death and the direct leader of the eight city lords, according to the rules established by the Lord, my role and that of the city lords is to maintain the normal operation of this world, and we are not authorized to enslave these souls.
When I accompanied the Lord to the human world, I secretly created the Three Holy Artifacts and spread rumors, so that anyone who collects all three artifacts can summon me to the human world for a short time, allowing me to harvest a human soul to serve me.
However, the Lord later discovered this and, instead of punishing me, chose to tacitly approve my actions.
"Alright, now help me find three people. Their names are Lily Evans, James Potter, and Ariana Dumbledore. I want to resurrect them."
Jerry nodded, not pressing further about Death's story, and instead gave Death instructions.
Upon hearing this, Death was immediately alarmed and hurriedly shook his head in refusal.
"No, according to the rules set by the Lord of the world, I cannot resurrect any soul. If I do, I will be erased by the rules."
"I don't need you to resurrect them. Just tell me which city they live in, and I'll handle the rest. Hurry up, or you won't be erased by the rules, but I will kill you, shattering your bones and scattering your soul."
Jerry coldly threatened.
Death was so scared that his bones trembled, and he quickly nodded, using his powers as Death to search.
"The three people you mentioned all died in the same region. They are now living in West City Three."
With Death's help, Jerry quickly found the three and, after a brief conversation, took their souls out of the Netherworld.
Life in the Netherworld might be comfortable, but it certainly paled in comparison to the vibrancy of the mortal world. Moreover, the three had ties to the living world. So when Jerry explained that he could resurrect them to live as normal humans again, they immediately agreed.
"Who is this guy? He's finally gone. It seems I should avoid the mortal world in the future."
Watching Jerry disappear with the three souls, Death let out a heavy sigh of relief. He had not been harmed, and the Netherworld remained untouched. There was nothing he could do, as the other party was far too powerful, and he was no match.
However, what Death didn't know was that Jerry's departure from the Netherworld was not an act of mercy. Instead, Jerry intended to incorporate both worlds into his own singular universe and then fuse and assimilate them.
This way, all the laws of the two worlds of Harry Potter, including the cycle of life and death in the Netherworld, would be absorbed into Jerry's world.
From then on, the Netherworld, including Death, would have to obey Jerry's commands.
"Lily, James, and Ariana!"
In the topmost level of Nurmengard Prison, Dumbledore stood up from his chair in shock as he saw Jerry reappear with the three souls by his side.
Grindelwald, who was standing beside him, also stood up in surprise.
Grindelwald did not recognize James and Lily, but he knew Ariana. She was Dumbledore's deceased sister.
Years ago, their differing ideologies led to a conflict between Grindelwald, Dumbledore, and Dumbledore's brother, resulting in a magical battle. Ariana died as a result of the battle's collateral damage.
This was a perpetual source of pain for Dumbledore, the deepest regret of his life. It was also the reason why Dumbledore and Grindelwald had a falling out.
Similarly, this was the reason Grindelwald felt the most guilt towards Dumbledore.
The reason he lost to Dumbledore in their final battle, the reason he gave Dumbledore the Elder Wand, and the reason he had stayed in this prison for so many years, was partly due to the guilt he carried in his heart.
