Chapter 75: On Shelving
Chapter 75: On Shelving
This is the first book I've ever published, and it wasn't easy to get it on the shelves.
I've been anxiously watching my subscriber count, and as soon as I crossed the passable line, I published, fearing that I'd drop below it again the next day.
Those anxious days had me sitting up until 6 am, tweaking the content, but I still wasn't satisfied with the changes. It felt like a desperate attempt to fix things.
Thankfully, we made it, and I want to thank all my subscribers and the friends in the group who offered me suggestions. Your support and help mean a lot.
The following plot will feature more of the battles that you all enjoy. My apologies for holding off on the battle scenes for so long in this book.
I think everyone can guess the protagonist's current situation by now. After all, we've all read enough fanfiction to understand the various plotlines.
However, I do think I have a bit of a unique twist up my sleeve. As far as I know, no one in the fanfiction world has had Xiao Xue recognize Tang YuEHua as her godmother.
Some readers might find this plot point a bit toxic, but I feel that instead of having Xiao Xue constantly yearning, it's better to let her proactively let go.
When she becomes a god, her obsessions will be to attain maternal love and romantic love. So, I'll give her those and then let her make her own choices.
I believe this is how Thousand Snow will truly grow up. Otherwise, no matter how strong she becomes, she'll always be a giant baby, longing and craving in her heart.
So, there will be some unpleasantness between Thousand Snow and the protagonist, but the protagonist's main theme is to have it all.
I hope readers can accept this going forward.
Regarding the protagonist's allegiance, I can give a little hint.
The gods of the Divine Realm have cut off the path to godhood for human soul masters by using soul rings. The fact that the protagonist can freely detach soul rings and enhance their lifespan puts him in opposition to the Divine Realm.
His ability to control and enslave others through the use of soul bones aligns him with the soul beasts. Once a soul master absorbs a soul bone, they cannot lose it, similar to the curse of the soul beast clan.
Initially, I had set Wang Si to be influenced in his thoughts by a fragment of the dragon god's remnant soul, but now I feel that this setting is a bit cliche.
However, despite pointing out these weaknesses, I do have a few strengths.
Compared to those novels that drag on for over a hundred chapters without capturing a single woman's heart, my story moves at a much faster pace in that regard.
(Although I know some readers may not prefer this, it is one of the few strengths I can confidently present.)
A little spoiler for a plotline that will be revealed much later—consider it my thanks to all of you who have read this far.
The story will continue to feature some of my unique little twists and turns.
However, I might not be able to deliver on the Saturday burst update, as I have a thesis to work on.
This week, I plan to update with ten chapters. If I don't finish, I'll double the number next week.
Well, that's it. I expect we'll see fewer familiar faces in the review section going forward, so feel free to say or rant about anything you'd like to here.
