Chapter 75: A Quick Word
Chapter 75: A Quick Word
Lately, I've been noticing some comments criticizing the plot as cliche and unreadable. I understand that this might be a sensitive topic for some, but I'd like to address it briefly.
You see, I'm a bit of a softie, and these comments do stir up complex emotions within me. I've had to cut off several novels in the past due to negative feedback.
Of course, I'm aware that this is my issue. I can't expect to write something not up to par and then silence all criticism.
Moreover, even if I asked you not to comment, you'd still find a way to express your thoughts, and that's just how it is.
The only thing I can do is to accept it and move on.
But when I see such comments, how can I not feel a bit down? After some thought, I've decided to chat with you all for a moment.
In my view, a novel is like a sightseeing train traveling towards the mysterious, the unknown, and the fantastical.
My pen, or rather, my keyboard, is the steering wheel of this train, and I, as the driver, aim to bring you the best views along the way. However, it's inevitable that there will be some less-than-perfect moments, as not every part of the journey can be picturesque.
We might encounter deserts, crossroads, breakdowns, or even the driver having an emotional moment. Even if the scenery is breathtaking throughout, people have different preferences, and it's unavoidable that some passengers will want to disembark along the way.
So, I kindly ask, or rather, I kindly plead, that when you decide to get off the train, you do so with a smile, considering we've traveled together for a while. Please don't smash the windows on your way out.
A silent departure, perhaps with a smirk and a 'Trash Smile' as you leave, would be more poetic. It would allow me to preserve some good feelings and continue the journey with those willing to move forward.
