Chapter 748: The Arrival of Death (First Update)
Chapter 748: The Arrival of Death (First Update)
"Jerry, with your wisdom, you shouldn't believe in such an unreliable legend."
Dumbledore stood up, his expression becoming complex.
In Dumbledore's mind, Jerry, a genius witch who had surpassed him in power in just a few years, possessed a level of intelligence far beyond the ordinary.
But he never expected Jerry to believe the ridiculous legend that gathering the three Deathly Hallows would make one the master of Death and allow them to dominate the world.
This truly disappointed him. Could it be that Jerry, like Voldemort, had developed those terrifying ambitions?
Jerry, seeing Dumbledore's expression, knew exactly what he was thinking and explained with a touch of helplessness:
"Headmaster, it's not what you think. Of course, I don't believe that gathering the three Deathly Hallows will make me the master of Death, and I have no interest in dominating the world.
To be honest, if I wanted to, no one could stop me from ruling the world. I don't need to rely on such an unreliable legend.
I just want to use the three Deathly Hallows to find Death, as I have some matters I wish to discuss with him."
With that, Jerry lifted the shielding charm and slowly released a small portion of his aura.
Dumbledore and Grindelwald, feeling the terrifying magical power emanating from Jerry, widened their eyes in shock.
It was a terrifying aura, one that even the two most powerful mages in the world, Dumbledore and Grindelwald, found chilling.
They felt that at this moment, Jerry could kill them with just his powerful aura, without even casting a spell.
It was then that they realized Jerry's words might not be lies but the truth, for with the power he was displaying, there was no need for him to deceive them.
Having proven his point with his power, Jerry retracted his aura and cast the shielding charm on himself again.
"Alright, Jerry, I believe you. However, even if you gather the three Deathly Hallows, I doubt anything significant will happen. It's probably just a legend."
Dumbledore handed the Elder Wand to Jerry.
Grindelwald, who had been silent until then, finally spoke up.
"You are very powerful, but I advise you not to do it. The legend may not be true, but it's not entirely false either."
"Gellert, do you know something?"
Dumbledore, who knew Grindelwald well, immediately sensed something from his words.
Grindelwald, clearly not intending to be cryptic, explained with a gentle tone:
"You know, I once believed in the legend of the three Deathly Hallows. My initial purpose for visiting Godric's Hollow to see my aunt, Bathilda Bagshot, was to find the Cloak of Invisibility.
But later, I gave up. After stealing the Elder Wand, I didn't seek the Cloak of Invisibility or the Resurrection Stone again.
Because in my research, I discovered that throughout history, there have been people who gathered all three Deathly Hallows. However, they did not become the master of Death or rule the world.
Instead, they all disappeared without a trace!"
"Disappeared, you mean?"
Dumbledore's expression grew serious again, and Grindelwald nodded.
"Exactly. I believe that gathering the three Deathly Hallows might indeed summon Death, but not to become the master of Death or to rule the world. Instead, it will result in your soul being taken by Death."
"You forgot, in the story, the ultimate purpose of Death giving the three brothers the Deathly Hallows was to take their souls."
"Mr. Grindelwald, perhaps your guess is correct, but it doesn't matter. I should be able to handle this situation."
After hearing Grindelwald's words, Jerry showed no fear at all. Instead, he directly touched the Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone, and the Cloak of Invisibility together.
If Grindelwald's guess was right, gathering the three Deathly Hallows would summon Death. That would save Jerry the trouble of searching for Death based on the Death Aura.
"Boom!"
The moment the three Deathly Hallows touched, a powerful light filled with the Death Aura burst from them, followed by a strong Spatial fluctuation.
When everything returned to normal, a four- to five-meter-tall skeleton, draped in a black hood and holding a massive scythe, appeared before Jerry, Dumbledore, and Grindelwald.
"Haha, after so many years, another fool has finally gathered the three Deathly Hallows. I have a new toy!"
The Death holding the scythe laughed loudly, the sound of his skull chattering with each laugh.
Dumbledore and Grindelwald, feeling the powerful Death Aura emanating from Death, froze on the spot, their fear magnified to the extreme.
But Jerry, standing in front of them, seemed unaffected. He rubbed his chin, examining the Death before him, and muttered in confusion:
"That's odd, this Death seems so weak. Could it be that he's not the Creator God?"
In Dumbledore and Grindelwald's eyes, Death was a powerful being capable of instantly taking their souls. But to Jerry, Death was surprisingly weak.
He could clearly sense that this Death's strength was not even at the level of a single universe; at most, it was at the Celestial Father Level, and not even a very strong one at that.
He believed that if Odin were still alive, he could easily overpower this Death.
Compared to the Creator God of Fairy Tail and the multiverse-level Ankseram, this Death was far inferior.
So, he guessed that this Death was not the creator of this world. Creating a Magic world like Harry Potter, even if not a multiverse, should at least require the strength of a single universe.
This disappointed him. Now, he could only see if this Death knew where the true Creator God was.
"You are the one who gathered the three Deathly Hallows, are you not? I hereby proclaim that you have honorably become my servant. I will take your soul back to Hell!"
Death looked down at Jerry, raising the Scythe of Death, and spoke in a condescending tone.
Jerry, however, waved his hand dismissively.
"Let's not discuss that right now. I want to know, as Death, do you know where the god who created this world is, or can you contact him? I need to talk to him about something."
"A mere mortal wants to meet the great Creator God? How audacious! You should obediently follow me to Hell and serve me properly!"
Hearing this, Death swung his scythe, intending to take Jerry's soul.
Dumbledore and Grindelwald, seeing this, wanted to intervene, but they were paralyzed by Death's aura, unable to move.
