Chapter 747: The Order of the Phoenix Roster
Chapter 747: The Order of the Phoenix Roster
"Do you have the roster for the Order of the Phoenix?" Asia looked at Ivan with a mix of surprise and doubt.
"Kingsley Shacklebolt, Arthur Weasley, Remus Lupin, Dedalus Diggle, Sturgis Podmore, Emmeline Vance, Mundungus Fletcher..." Ivan rattled off over a dozen names of wizards, omitting Harry and his friends as they were not yet qualified to be included.
Asia was quite astonished. She certainly believed Ivan wouldn't make such claims without reason, and she recognized some of the people on the list, confirming they were indeed members of the Order of the Phoenix.
"These are the core members of the Order of the Phoenix. There are also a few spies and Squibs without magical abilities who haven't been recorded..." Ivan added.
These names were, of course, retrieved from his memory. If the timeline was the same as the original, Dumbledore's reformed Order of the Phoenix should consist of these individuals.
Reflecting on this, Ivan was somewhat surprised. Upon tallying, he realized that the total number of core members in the Order of the Phoenix was only a dozen or so.
Compared to his Aurors and Voldemort's Death Eaters, the Order was far weaker, being the least formidable among the three factions.
However, Ivan soon recalled that Dumbledore had a vast network of friends and enjoyed unparalleled prestige in the wizarding world. Many righteous individuals, though not officially part of the Order, were still willing to support Dumbledore.
When this hidden strength was taken into account, it was enough to rival the others.
"Is that werewolf, Lupin, your undercover agent?" After a long moment of contemplation, Asia suddenly asked.
To her, Ivan's precise knowledge of everyone's names suggested there was an insider within the Order of the Phoenix.
Among these wizards, the werewolf Lupin was the most suspicious.
After all, Ivan possessed the Wolfsbane Potion and was researching a cure for lycanthropy, which could easily persuade Lupin to join him.
"No, don't jump to conclusions. It's not him who provided the information!" Ivan shook his head and quickly denied it.
While Asia's reasoning made sense, he had a good relationship with Lupin and didn't want to put him in an awkward position...
"In any case, you don't need to worry about the Order of the Phoenix. I have my own plans. You just need to keep a close eye on the Ministry of Magic and the Death Eaters..." Ivan carefully stated.
He didn't know the exact nature of the conflict between Asia and Dumbledore, but the white wizard didn't have long to live.
Once Dumbledore was gone, past grievances would fade away, and there would be no need to target the Order of the Phoenix.
Asia nodded. Since Ivan had a plan, she wouldn't interfere.
Glancing down at the freshly recorded roster, Asia sighed.
"I didn't expect Kingsley Shacklebolt to be part of the Order of the Phoenix. Dawgert once told me that he's very capable and doesn't get along with Arthur Weasley. I was considering whether to try and recruit him..."
"Those conflicts are probably just a front. How could Kingsley pass intelligence to Dumbledore about the Ministry of Magic if Fudge didn't distrust him?" Ivan replied offhandedly, scanning through the letters in his hand. His expression changed when he read the last one.
In the few envelopes Asia had given him, one was unopened and had no signature.
Ivan looked up at Asia, puzzled.
"This letter is enchanted with a Detection Magic. If anyone other than you opens it, the parchment inside will immediately destroy itself", Asia explained. The magic on the envelope was very sophisticated, even she couldn't break it.
"Is that so?" Ivan muttered to himself.
He had a good idea who the sender might be and decided to open the envelope right away.
"Sure enough... it's from Master!" Ivan pulled out the letter and glanced at the signature at the bottom of the parchment. As he had suspected, the only person who would use such a special method to send him a letter at this time was Nicolas Flamel.
"What does he say in the letter?" Asia asked, curious.
"Master congratulates me on defeating Voldemort... and he wants me to visit him if I have time soon", Ivan described the contents of the letter briefly, then muttered to himself again.
"Strange, how did Master find out about my victory over Voldemort? The news shouldn't have spread that quickly..."
Asia wasn't surprised. Alchemical Masters like Nicolas Flamel always had special channels for information.
Moreover, over two hundred people had witnessed the events in Knockturn Alley. If someone wanted to investigate, it would be impossible to keep it a secret.
"So, when do you plan to go? Are you leaving today?" Asia asked, a hint of reluctance in her voice. Ivan had only been home for a little over a week this summer, and they had been busy with Knockturn Alley affairs almost every day, barely getting a chance to spend quality time together.
Ivan had intended to leave that night, but seeing the reluctant look on Asia's face, he decided to postpone his departure to three days later.
It would give him some time to prepare, such as making some magical items to pass Nicolas Flamel's test.
Yes, he also needed to reply to Hermione's letter, and he would write it tonight. This time, he couldn't forget.
Ivan thought about what he needed to do before leaving.
While he could use Apparition to travel between locations, Nicolas Flamel had warned him that using Apparition to enter and exit that particular space would affect the protective charms. So, he could only expect to make a round trip once a week at most.
...
That night, on a hill several miles away, Snape's figure suddenly materialized out of the void.
He looked around. The place was desolate and rundown. The remnants of the last battle were still visible, with the soft earth pockmarked by large craters from magical explosions. A broken tombstone was half-buried in the ground, and the nearby bushes bore the scars of flame.
Snape frowned. This didn't look like a place for a gathering.
Suddenly, a sharp, burning pain surged through his left arm. He quickly rolled up his sleeve, and the Dark Mark on his forearm began to move.
The serpentine mark writhed and hissed, and the hollow eyes of the skull emitted an eerie red light.
Then, a series of messages were transmitted directly into his mind.
【The Riddle House is located on a hillside near a village in southwestern Britain...】
A Fidelius Charm?!
Snape's eyes widened as forgotten memories resurfaced.
He turned around sharply, and a grand, imposing mansion materialized before his eyes...
