Chapter 746: You Still Don't Know How Vast the World Is
Chapter 746: You Still Don't Know How Vast the World Is
"In your dreams!"
Makarov roared, his hands clasped in front of him as golden light converged, summoning the Fairy Law he had used before!
Having already deployed Fairy Law once and facing a formidable opponent like Serena, he had to channel all his magic into this spell, and his life might be forfeit as a result. But it was a risk he had to take.
"That Super Magic might get a little troublesome if you use it again, so I suggest you stand down, Makarov..."
Serena fixed her eyes on Makarov, a chilling glint flashing in them. She then raised her hand and gestured forcefully toward Makarov, unleashing a torrent of overwhelming magic.
"Frost Dragon's Icy Hell!"
BOOM!!!
A surge of magic instantly engulfed Makarov, freezing him and the seawater behind him in an instant just as he had gathered the magic for 'Fairy Law'.
It was like the arrival of winter on a summer day!
"Master!"
At this sight, Erza and Mira cried out in a mix of shock and anger.
In the Fairy Tail guild hall, Lucy and Wendy, who were watching the battle from a distance through Feng Ye's projection, also exclaimed in unison.
"Ah! Master!"
Wendy, holding a cat in her arms, cried out, her eyes darting anxiously to Feng Ye, "Feng Ye..."
Feng Ye gave her a reassuring look, gently patting her head, and calmly turned to the projection, "Don't worry, it's fine. Someone who can deal with him is on their way."
"Someone who can deal with him..."
Wendy's big eyes widened in surprise, and she turned to the projection, her little face reflecting her astonishment at what she saw next.
Both Levy and Lucy mirrored each other, raising their hands to their mouths in a muffled exclamation.
Behold!
On the battlefield that had been frozen in an instant, turning it into a wintry landscape, Makarov was encased in ice, and Fairy Law was halted in its tracks.
Just then, a blazing flame descended from the heavens, enveloping Makarov's frozen figure. The flames entwined and unraveled, thawing the ice that had trapped him.
The flames embraced Makarov without causing him any harm, dispelling the icy chill that had permeated his body in an instant.
"Who?!"
Serena's eyes widened in surprise as she witnessed her magic being dispelled, and she immediately looked up to the sky, her gaze flickering, "This magic is..."
Erza and Mira, witnessing this spectacle, also wore astonished expressions, and they, too, followed Serena's action, craning their necks to gaze skyward.
There, in the sky, appeared a cluster of fiery flames, and within them, a figure hovered, wings of a phoenix unfurled behind her.
As the phoenix-like wings fluttered gently, the figure descended slowly from the heavens, coming to rest in front of Makarov. The flames retracted swiftly, revealing a young girl.
The flames and the phoenix wings converged silently into her brow, where they coalesced into a faint golden phoenix emblem, and the heart-stirring magic gradually faded.
"You... who are you...?"
Makarov, taken aback by the sudden appearance, quickly realized something, his voice quavering, "You... you're..."
Although he didn't recognize the girl before him, the magic she had just displayed, the phoenix-like wings, was undeniably the legendary Phoenix Magic!
In the annals of magic history, only two individuals were recorded to possess this magic.
One was the Phoenix Priestess, Eclea, who had been the head of the Ten Wizard Saints for hundreds of years, and the other was Mebis, the founding master of their Fairy Tail guild!
While Makarov had never met Mebis, he had seen her statue, so he knew the girl before him wasn't her, which left only one explanation for her identity.
Eclea, the only master of the Phoenix Heart guild, deeply connected to Fairy Tail, and ranked first among the Ten Wizard Saints—the Phoenix Priestess!
"So, you've finally emerged," Serena said, her demeanor no longer as composed as before but instead grave and serious.
Eclea's gaze swept over Erza and the others, noticing the Fairy Tail guild mark on their bodies, and she asked, "Do you intend to destroy Fairy Tail?"
Serena shrugged, "I have no such intention. I merely wish for them to hand over something, but if they refuse, then I have no choice but to take more forceful measures."
Eclea remained unperturbed, responding, "So, you wish to obtain the magic left by our master. Your guess is correct; I indeed possess one of them."
A smirk played on Serena's face as he said, "It seems my guess was right. So, how do you intend to hand over that magic orb?"
"I'm sorry," Eclea said calmly. "The master entrusted me to guard it forever, so I won't let anyone obtain it."
Serena's brows furrowed, his expression shifting, and finally, his gaze turned cold. He huffed and said, "Since that's the case, there's nothing more to say... Anyway, even if I get the one from Fairy Tail, I'll still have to take the last one from you."
Buzz!!!
As his words fell, a vast surge of magic erupted from Serena's body, spreading out in all directions like a tangible force. The ground beneath his feet seemed to shatter like a spider web, cracking apart.
This terrifying magic far surpassed that of Makarov and Jose Porla. Just the oppressive force of pure magic caused Natsu and the others to nearly suffocate! Even Erza and Laxus struggled to breathe.
"This... What terrifying magic..."
Erza stared at Serena, a bead of cold sweat forming on her forehead, and shock reflected in her eyes. This magic was worlds apart from theirs!
The previous battle with them was likely just a casual play for Serena; he hadn't even exerted himself fully, not even when he attacked Makarov.
At this moment, Serena, erupting with magic, didn't need to explain his intentions; his actions made them clear—he was challenging Eclea!
If he defeated Eclea here, he would obtain the magic orb she held. Then, he could easily get the one hidden by Fairy Tail, gathering all seven magic orbs and acquiring the legendary magic of that Mage!
After that...
He would be able to defeat the Black Dragon Acnologia and make everything before him crumble!
The only person in the field who showed no change in expression amidst Serena's overwhelming magic was Eclea, standing opposite him.
She had followed Feng Ye for many years, and the power she had felt from him was far beyond what Serena could match. While Serena's magic was not weak compared to hers, it was minuscule in comparison to what she had experienced from Feng Ye.
It was like a drop in the ocean!
A single strand of Feng Ye's hair carried a weight she couldn't bear, and a single drop of his blood held a vitality she couldn't parallel. Having witnessed such awe-inspiring power from Feng Ye, she naturally didn't feel surprised by Serena's magic.
"You all should move back a little," Eclea said, glancing at Serena before turning to Makarov and the others.
Erza and the others didn't know who Eclea was, and the oppressive force of Serena's magic still lingered, causing their bodies to tremble involuntarily.
Gray couldn't help but ask, "Who are you?"
Makarov silenced him and ordered, "Shut up, Gray! Everyone, do as she says! Move back, now!"
Makarov's words snapped Gray and the others out of their confusion, and they quickly retreated with him to a safer distance, leaving only Eclea and the Celestial Spirit King Serena facing each other.
Serena paid no heed to the retreating Fairy Tail members.
It didn't matter if Fairy Tail ran or not; as long as he defeated Eclea, Fairy Tail wouldn't be able to stop him. All he needed to do now was beat this one person!
"Since I became one of the Ten Wizard Saints, you have always been above me. No matter what I achieved, I couldn't shake your position. After all, you are an immortal priestess who has lived for four hundred years, and I've always conceded that my magic is inferior to yours... But, that's no longer the case!"
Serena looked at Eclea, his arms outstretched, his palms surging with magic. "I obtained five magic orbs, and while I couldn't break the seals on them, the seals gave me insight into a higher level of magic. I am stronger now than I ever was!"
"You do have a talent for magic," Eclea acknowledged quietly. "It's impressive that you were able to decipher a higher level of magic from the master's orbs, but unfortunately, you still don't know how vast the world is."
