Chapter 743: Such Courage is Truly Unimaginable
Chapter 743: Such Courage is Truly Unimaginable
"Yes, Lord Hals..." Fenrir nodded solemnly, hearing Ivan's words.
He realized he had spoken out of turn. It was clear that Ivan was secretly planning something astonishing, even involving the Dark Lord in his scheme.
No wonder Ivan didn't pursue Voldemort last night, even after severely wounding him. It was clearly a deliberate move.
This was the second time Ivan had spared the Dark Lord's life. The obvious hint should have been clear to him, yet he had been foolish enough to ask directly. He felt ashamed.
The other Wizards, many of whom were also shrewd, naturally understood this as well.
But precisely because of this, it was all the more shocking. Treating the Dark Lord, whom everyone in the Wizarding World feared and dared not name, as a mere pawn—such courage was truly unimaginable...
Dawgert, standing nearby, was deeply moved by Ivan. The once somewhat naive Young Wizard had grown to a point where even he could no longer fathom his depth.
Despite having the power to dominate the Wizarding World, Ivan had kept it hidden, waiting to strike Dumbledore with a fatal blow once he had gained his trust. Such depth of strategy could only be described as unfathomable.
If not for Voldemort's sudden attack, they might still have been in the dark.
"Lord Hals, since we can't take the initiative, how can we avoid the Dark Lord's attacks?" Walker asked curiously.
"Next, I will inscribe a Magic Mark on each of you. Through this, you can communicate directly with me, and when necessary, I can use the Magic Mark to determine your location for Apparition..."
Ivan didn't hold back. He spent a few minutes explaining the effects of the Magic Mark, only omitting the fact that he could use it to kill directly.
Walker and the others were thrilled upon hearing this. They understood that the Magic Mark was essentially a protective charm. If they encountered an enemy they couldn't handle, they could request immediate assistance.
However, before they could get too excited, Ivan poured cold water on their enthusiasm.
While the Magic Mark could instantly transmit messages, if he was busy or temporarily occupied, he might not be able to provide timely assistance. Therefore, it should only be used as a last resort.
"Additionally, unless you have something important to report, do not use the Magic Mark to contact me directly..." Ivan added.
He didn't want them running to him for every trivial matter. That would drive him mad.
The Wizards present nodded in unison. In fact, even without Ivan's warning, they wouldn't dare do such a thing.
"Let's start with you, Dawgert. We'll remove the Dark Mark from your wrist..." Ivan scanned the room, his gaze finally settling on Dawgert.
"You can remove the Dark Mark?" Dawgert suddenly became very excited. Since Voldemort's resurrection, the Dark Mark on his hand had become more prominent, often causing unbearable pain.
Over the past decade, he had tried every method except cutting off his hand to remove the Dark Mark, but to no avail. He had resigned himself to living with this humiliating mark forever.
"Of course, it's just a marking spell, after all", Ivan explained casually. Knowing the principle behind the spell, removing it was much simpler.
Dawgert hurriedly stepped forward, trembling as he rolled up the sleeve of his left arm, revealing the highly visible Skull Mark. A serpentine figure was emerging from the skull's mouth, forming an intricate design.
Ivan drew his wand and pressed it against Dawgert's outstretched wrist. As he channeled magic, the Dark Mark seemed to come alive, the serpentine symbol writhing and hissing with an eerie sound that echoed through the living room.
Dawgert furrowed his brow, feeling two opposing forces clash on his wrist. His entire forearm felt as if it were branded with a hot iron, and a steady stream of dark aura wafted from the mark.
After about three minutes, the Dark Mark on Dawgert's wrist had vanished, replaced by a new symbol.
Seeing the casting was successful, Ivan relaxed and lowered his wand. Though he had been confident, this was his first time using a Marking Spell, and a mistake could have been disastrous.
"Go back to your place", Ivan gestured, dismissing Dawgert, and then ordered Fenrir to step forward.
Dawgert walked back to the crowd, feeling elated. He lifted his left wrist and examined the new mark, a strange dragon with its head and tail connected, encircled by irregular diamond patterns.
A dragon about to rise and soar?
Dawgert pondered the meaning of the Magic Mark, sensing that it was more complex than he initially thought.
About an hour later, all forty-five wizards in the room had been branded with the new Magic Mark.
Such intense, continuous casting left even Ivan feeling somewhat fatigued, but he maintained his composure and calmly assigned the next tasks.
The immediate threat from Voldemort was temporarily neutralized, but there was still much to be done.
"Dawgert, Rochelle, Parkinson, Macmillan... I'm entrusting you with the task of infiltrating the Ministry of Magic", Ivan said, looking at them.
"We will show you results within six months, Lord Hals", Dawgert declared, his mood lifted by the removal of the Dark Mark.
Rochelle and the others also pledged to prepare for the attack on the Ministry of Magic as quickly as possible.
Actually, there's no rush... you can take your time!
Ivan opened his mouth to speak but changed his words at the last moment.
"Remember, you must be discreet in your actions."
They nodded solemnly, though they couldn't guess what Ivan was planning, they were determined not to make any mistakes.
After that, Ivan turned his attention to Fenrir.
"Fenrir, you will lead the Aurors in managing Knockturn Alley. Establish some rules and clean up the area. If you find any suitable wizards, you can recruit them."
"I will take care of it, Lord Hals", Fenrir bowed slightly.
Ivan trusted Fenrir's capabilities and loyalty, so he didn't elaborate further. He then instructed Asia to oversee the Wizarding Market and to send people to track down rare magical creatures.
"Are there any questions or additional points you wish to raise?" Ivan scanned the room.
The living room remained silent, no one speaking up. Ivan wasn't surprised; he was well aware of his current intimidating presence, and this was merely a formality.
However, just as Ivan was about to conclude the meeting, a familiar figure stood up from the crowd.
