Chapter 742: Jerry vs. Althium, the Celestial Supreme (First Update)
Chapter 742: Jerry vs. Althium, the Celestial Supreme (First Update)
At dusk, an old man sat on a bench in the park, enjoying the last rays of the setting sun. A young and beautiful woman pushed a stroller along the cobblestone path, and office workers streamed out of the high-rise buildings, making the city suddenly crowded.
And on this otherwise ordinary day, something extraordinary happened.
"Here he comes!"
Jerry, sitting atop The Shard, the tallest building in London on the south bank of the Thames, slowly stood up and looked up into the sky.
As soon as he spoke, the originally rosy sky was suddenly filled with an incredibly large head. However, it resembled more of a six-tile in mahjong, only magnified countless times.
This head belonged to none other than Althium, the Celestial Supreme. After arriving on Earth, he sensed the Metal Connector in London and lowered his head to investigate.
"Truly enormous!"
Seeing the sky-obscuring head of Althium, Jerry couldn't help but exclaim.
However, he wasn't particularly surprised. After all, he had been to the Voidland, which was built by hollowing out a Celestial Embryo's head.
"Crack, crack, crack."
As Jerry marveled, the citizens below the building clearly noticed the anomaly in the sky. However, they didn't feel particularly afraid. Instead, they took out their phones to take videos and photos, posting them on social media.
Having experienced alien invasions and demon attacks, Earth's inhabitants had gradually become accustomed to such unusual phenomena. They believed that if anything happened, the Avengers superheroes would always come to the rescue.
"It seems he didn't notice."
Jerry, who had been silently observing since Althium's appearance, noticed that after Althium appeared over London, he only retrieved the Metal Connector bracelet he had deliberately thrown into the Thames and then silently left.
Clearly, Althium hadn't sensed the Eternals or the three Water Nymphs he had transformed into humans on Earth.
However, the moment Althium left Earth, Jerry didn't stay behind. Instead, he used his Spatial Magic to cautiously follow.
Once Althium was far from Earth and even the Milky Way, Jerry changed his appearance and suddenly appeared, blocking Althium's path.
"May I ask if you are Althium, the Celestial Supreme?"
"I am Althium. Who are you?"
Suddenly being blocked, Althium was taken aback. He looked at the tiny creature before him with a puzzled expression.
"Who I am is not important. I've heard that Althium, the Celestial Supreme, is the strongest of the Celestials. I wish to spar with you!"
Jerry, of course, wouldn't reveal his identity. He stopped Althium for two reasons: to help Ajak and the others get farther away, buying them time, and to gauge the gap between his current strength and Althium's.
Since entering the Singular Universe level, Jerry had no clear idea of his own power. The enemies he faced were either too weak, easily dispatched, or too strong, like the God of Creation in the Fairy Tail world, who was a Multiverse-level being in their own realm.
Now, encountering the Multiverse-level Althium, although also a Multiverse being, but without his own world, Jerry felt he could test his skills. If he couldn't win, he could still escape.
"Spar? I have matters to attend to and no time for such frivolities. Move out of my way."
Althium immediately recognized that Jerry was a single-universe-level being, possessing some impressive energy within.
There were many such beings in the universe. Some existed since its creation, while others were born and grew on the planets they created.
The Celestial Group generally avoided provoking these beings. Their duty was to continuously create new Celestials, then generate more planets and life, expanding the universe.
Of course, if conflicts arose, they wouldn't hesitate to act.
Now, he needed to hunt down the Eternals who had betrayed and fled from Earth. He didn't have time to spar with this unfamiliar single-universe-level being.
"That's not up to you! Domain, expand!"
Jerry didn't care whether Althium was willing or not. He immediately expanded his Domain, enveloping Althium's massive body.
He didn't try to pull Althium into his Ring World. First, given Althium's strength, he might not be able to do so. Second, the Celestial Embryo was still in the Ring World, and pulling Althium in would expose everything. He would have to be confident that he could kill Althium inside to risk it.
In fact, he believed that even if he managed to pull Althium into the Ring World and worked with everyone in Kulorido, it would still be extremely difficult to kill Althium. The risk was too high.
"You're asking for death!"
Seeing that a mere single-universe-level being dared to attack him, Althium was enraged. He lifted his giant fist, as large as a city, and swung it toward Jerry.
"Time Pause!"
Facing Althium's fist, Jerry dared not block it directly. Even his body, which could withstand molten lava, would likely be reduced to nothing if it took a direct hit from Althium.
Fortunately, he wasn't a warrior but a versatile Magic master. So, he immediately used the Time Law to pause the Spatial time where Althium was.
With the enhancement of his Domain, his Time Law was at least three times stronger than when he used it alone.
After the Time Law was activated, Althium's body was frozen in place. However, to Jerry's surprise, his usually unstoppable Time Law only held Althium for less than a second before being forcibly broken by Althium's sheer strength.
"Strength can break all laws, I've learned something new!"
In Jerry's understanding, the Time Law was clearly superior to the Strength Law. However, Althium's deep understanding of the Strength Law and the advantages of his own body made his Strength Law surpass Jerry's Time Law, even with the Domain's enhancement.
Thus, this effect of "strength breaking all laws" was created.
Although impressed by Althium's strength, Jerry didn't give up. He immediately added several negative Magic effects on top of the Time Law to slow Althium down.
But Althium broke through all of them with sheer force and continued to hammer toward Jerry.
Seeing Althium's terrifying fist about to land, Jerry quickly used Spatial Magic to teleport behind Althium, hoping to evade.
"I've killed many Dimensional Demon Gods who were proficient in Spatial Law!"
At this moment, Althium, who had been silent, let out a deafening cold snort. He teleported to Jerry's back as soon as Jerry did, and his fist continued to follow.
As a member of the Celestial Group, who created planets and life throughout the universe, how could he be just a brute who relied on strength alone?
