Chapter 740: The Celestial Embryo at Earth's Core (First Update)
Chapter 740: The Celestial Embryo at Earth's Core (First Update)
"How can one person take on a Celestial?"
Watching Jerry knock down Ikaris, their strongest, with a single strike in the air, Jinger’s lips twitched.
Although they had seen many reports about the Witch in the news, those were just brief videos and images. Today, they truly realized just how powerful the Avengers' top superhero was.
"He probably can't, or he wouldn't have come to us. And the power of a Celestial far exceeds your imagination."
Ajak shook her head.
She had seen many Celestials, and their true power was beyond everyone’s imagination. Compared to a Celestial, Ikaris was like an ant to an elephant; there was no comparison.
You have to understand that most Celestials are over ten thousand meters tall. Their Celestial Overlord, Arishem, stands at 320,000 meters. Without using any abilities, just one reach of his hand could crush them.
The Witch is indeed powerful and could transform into a few thousand meters to withstand an entire city during the Sokovia incident. But compared to the 320,000-meter Arishem, the Witch is still too small.
"Don’t worry, I just used Magic to make him unconscious. Once we resolve the Emergence issue, he probably won’t react so strongly."
Jerry picked up the unconscious Ikaris and handed him to Sersi, who looked worried.
At this moment, Ajak said with a serious expression:
"I need to act quickly. Arishem can check on us at any time. If he discovers our plan to stop the Emergence, it might be too late!"
Because of the precedent set by the Deviants, when creating the Eternals, the Celestials implanted some restrictions to prevent them from rebelling like the Deviants.
First, as long as the distance is close enough, a Celestial can directly teleport an Eternal to their side and imprison them.
Second, Celestials can use the Connection Device to monitor the Eternals at any time. However, Celestials are usually very busy, either creating planets and life or on their way to do so.
Even for Celestials, creating planets, suns, and life is not something that can be accomplished quickly. Therefore, they generally don’t actively monitor the Eternals unless the Eternals’ leader contacts them to report something.
Ajak was worried that a new Celestial was about to be born. If Arishem suddenly decided to check on them, and found out they were planning to stop the Emergence, he would be furious and immediately come to deal with them.
"But creating the Connection Device will take time, and it can’t be done quickly."
Druig replied helplessly.
Ajak closed her eyes for a moment, and then a small metal ball flew out from her chest and landed in her hand.
"This ball can establish a connection with Arishem and unify our Eternals' thoughts. Can you use it as a medium to create the connection?"
"Yes, if you give me a few minutes to modify it, I can turn it into a Connection Device."
Druig took the metal ball, examined it, and responded with surprise.
"Then let’s do it as soon as possible. We’ll aim to end this by this afternoon."
Hearing that Druig could modify the Connection Device in just a few minutes, Jerry’s face lit up with a satisfied smile. He hadn’t wasted his words trying to convince Druig to change his mind.
Ten minutes later, the small metal ball had been modified by Druig into a metal hoop, which Sersi wore on her wrist.
At three in the afternoon, by the coast of a volcano on the Indian Ocean.
"The Celestial Embryo is located beneath that volcano."
Ajak pointed to the distant volcano and turned to look at Jerry, saying:
"Mr. Jerry, it's up to you now."
The Celestial Embryo was hidden deep within the Earth's Core, and with their abilities, they couldn't reach it. Therefore, they needed Jerry's Magic to help.
"Just give me a moment; I'll handle it for you."
Jerry nodded and casually drew a portal leading to the Earth's Core beneath the volcano.
Everyone felt an intense heat surge out of the portal. Upon closer inspection, the other side was filled with fiery red magma, with temperatures reaching over a thousand degrees.
At the center of this magma sea, a Celestial, already beginning to form a human-like shape and towering over ten thousand meters tall, was sleeping with its eyes closed.
Jerry paid no attention to the terrifying magma and stepped through the portal.
Although his body wasn't as strong as the Celestials, it was certainly not vulnerable to mere thousand-degree magma. Even if he were to take off his clothes and bathe in it, it wouldn't be much of an issue.
"Open!"
After stepping into the magma sea, Jerry immediately activated his Realm. The magma instantly parted as if pushed aside by an invisible hand, creating a clear space around the still-forming Celestial.
Jerry then waved his hand, and a beautiful stone bridge appeared, extending from the portal to the Celestial Embryo.
"Alright, come in!"
The Eternals, amazed by the power and magic of Jerry, wasted no time. They quickly crossed the Spatial Gate and followed Jerry along the stone bridge to the Celestial Embryo.
"Let's begin!"
Ajak, looking at the sleeping Celestial Embryo, had a complex expression as she instructed Druig.
For millions of years, she had guarded countless Emergences. This time, however, she had to lead a team to kill the Celestial, a task that filled her with conflicting emotions.
But if they didn't kill this yet-unawakened Celestial, the Earth and its inhabitants would be destroyed.
Upon hearing Ajak's command, Druig activated his bracelet. A golden light enveloped all the Eternals, including the still unconscious Ikaris, causing them to float.
The cosmic energy within the nine Eternals was extracted by the golden light and, under Druig's control, channeled into Sersi. Sersi's body was instantly surrounded by a powerful cosmic energy.
From Jerry's perspective, even with the combined energy of the nine Eternals, Sersi's current energy level wasn't particularly strong, at least not compared to the Celestial Embryo.
The reason she could petrify the Celestial was primarily because the energy of the Eternals and the Celestials shared the same origin—cosmic energy. Therefore, the Celestial Embryo had no resistance to this same-source energy.
"Sorry, Celestial!"
Sersi leaped onto the sleeping Celestial Embryo and was about to place her hands on the Celestial's head.
"Time—Pause!"
At that moment, Jerry, who had been standing at the back, suddenly activated the Time Law, pausing all time within his Realm.
He quickly retrieved from the Ring World a duplicate of the Celestial Embryo that he had prepared in advance. He then swapped the real Celestial Embryo with the fake one and lifted the time pause.
Time resumed, and Sersi placed her hands on the fake Celestial Embryo. The fake Celestial Embryo rapidly petrified, turning into a massive stone within seconds.
