Chapter 740: Ivan: Why Are You More Brave Than Me?
Chapter 740: Ivan: Why Are You More Brave Than Me?
Ivan was somewhat surprised as he took the newspaper. His expression changed slightly when he saw the content.
The front page featured a large dynamic photo of a scene he recognized all too well. Flames soared into the sky, and a vast area of collapsed ruins was visible. A closer look revealed a house in the distance, engulfed in flames...
Clearly, the photo was from last night's Knockturn Alley.
However, the article below did not mention his battle with Voldemort. It simply described a large-scale riot in Knockturn Alley, suspected to be a conflict between two groups of Dark Wizards.
"How could this be reported so quickly? It doesn't make sense..." Ivan frowned, muttering to himself.
Just as Ivan was puzzled, Asia spoke up to explain.
Their actions last night had a wide impact, impossible to hide from the shopkeepers in Diagon Alley and the Wizards staying in the inns.
While no one dared to enter Knockturn Alley to investigate, watching from a distance was a common human instinct. Thus, the news of the riot spread quickly this morning.
"Additionally, the photo in the Daily Prophet is incomplete... someone captured more details." Asia said, pulling out a magical dynamic photo from her pocket and handing it to Ivan.
Ivan leaned in to look, and his lips twitched involuntarily...
The photo also depicted last night's Knockturn Alley, but from a different angle and a bit later in time. It faithfully recorded Voldemort transforming into Dark Fog and escaping through a window, only to be brought down by a Fiendfyre Whip. Voldemort's panicked expression was vaguely visible in the Dark Fog.
"Is the person who took this photo still alive?" Ivan turned to Asia, asking curiously.
"He was still alive when I got there. The Dark Lord was just injured by you; he would need a few days to recover before seeking revenge." Asia chuckled and then paused before continuing, "Do you want to save him?"
"Never mind! Have someone escort him out of Britain... whether he survives is up to his luck." Ivan considered it for a moment and decided not to get involved.
To save the person, he would need to bring him to a Safe House for protection. But Ivan was barely managing to protect himself, and his intimidating presence was mostly an act. It wasn't worth risking his life for a stranger. Giving the poor soul a chance to survive was already a kind gesture.
"By the way, how many people have seen this photo?" Ivan asked again.
"It's hard to determine the exact number, but quite a few have seen it..." Asia explained, "Additionally, the news of you defeating the Dark Lord has also spread, though not many Wizards believe it."
Even this information was leaked? It seems the Wizards in Knockturn Alley aren't very good at keeping secrets...
Ivan raised an eyebrow. He had explicitly instructed everyone to keep it confidential. If Voldemort was influenced by these rumors and came after him out of anger, it would be disastrous.
No wonder the Daily Prophet was so eager to report on this; they were probably trying to "debunk" the rumors.
Asia continued to share the intelligence she had gathered during her morning outing.
Based on her prediction, it wouldn't be long before the entire Wizarding World knew about the chaos in Knockturn Alley. The Ministry of Magic might send someone to investigate.
So now they had two options in front of them.
Either admit it or conceal it...
For this, she spent the entire night discussing with Dawgert, Fenrir, and others, initially formulating the subsequent plan.
They all agreed that with the power Ivan now possessed, there was no need to hold back. They could be more aggressive, openly acknowledging the events and even fueling the spread of what happened last night.
As long as they could prove that Voldemort was truly still alive, it would severely damage the Ministry of Magic's credibility.
And Ivan, having defeated Voldemort, would instantly become the well-known savior and the new strongest wizard in the Wizarding World!
With these titles, Dawgert, Rochelle, and others could approach and persuade—or threaten—reasonable pureblood wizards and Ministry officials to join their side.
Additionally, they sent a team to search for Voldemort's hiding place, planning to expose him or force him to cause chaos in the Wizarding World, spreading panic and ensuring as many people as possible knew of Voldemort's return...
At this point, Ivan only needed to step in and stop Voldemort a few times to gain a massive following, pushing the ineffective Fudge into a corner!
Once the Wizarding World was filled with complaints, they could seize the opportunity to start a war, overthrow Fudge's tyranny, and install a compliant puppet Minister of Magic.
Asia spoke confidently, detailing the plan.
Ivan, standing beside her, felt a headache coming on.
He couldn't understand why Asia and the others had suddenly become so bold, daring to use the legendary Dark Lord Voldemort as a tool to boost their reputation...
Just a day ago, they had been so worried and afraid, even dreading the mention of the Dark Lord.
Who... Ivan suddenly realized it was probably him who gave them the courage.
He finally understood what the "Dark Lord's Rise" mission in the System panel was all about. It turned out that while he was sleeping, Asia and the others had spent the night discussing a plan to control the Ministry of Magic...
It was happening too fast!
Ivan was quite frustrated. Could they tone down their efficiency? They all seemed to be on a high, and after a busy night, did they not need any sleep?
Ivan looked at Asia with a particularly strange expression, noticing that despite staying up all night, she seemed energetic and not at all tired.
Asia laid out their entire plan in one breath and then continued, "In any case, Dawgert and the others are waiting for your next instructions..."
"Let's hold off for now. This isn't something to rush... We need to think this through carefully", Ivan waved his hand, declining.
Asia was taken aback for a moment but quickly realized something and asked, "You still plan to deal with Dumbledore first?"
Ivan sighed helplessly. He understood that Asia and the others had taken his words from last night seriously.
At the time, he had said those things to make Voldemort fear him, to believe that he was truly hiding his strength, not just having a temporary burst.
Now it seemed his acting was too convincing, even fooling his own allies...
