Chapter 740: Heading to Number 12, Grimmauld Place
Chapter 740: Heading to Number 12, Grimmauld Place
The Niffler carriage soared through the vast cloud layer, swiftly leaving the village buildings far behind.
Perhaps due to their familiarity with the route, the return journey was much faster than the trip there. Soon, they were leaving the area of Devonshire County.
"Do you want to go back to Hogwarts now?" Kyle suddenly asked as they approached London.
"What do you mean?" Cona looked at him, "Aren't you going back?"
"I have something to take care of in Diagon Alley." Kyle replied.
"Now?" Cona frowned.
"Yes, now." Kyle paused for a moment, as if deep in thought.
If they returned to Hogwarts first, there would still be a long way to go, and by the time they reached Diagon Alley, it would be too late.
But now, they were already near London, and it would be convenient to make a detour.
However, Kyle was hesitant to let Cona travel back to school alone in the carriage.
After all, in the wizarding world, Niffler carriages were rare and considered one of the most luxurious means of transportation. Kyle was concerned that it might attract the attention of the increasingly rampant Death Eaters.
"If you don't have other plans..." Kyle thought for a moment and said, "How about coming with me? We can make a detour to London for lunch."
"Sure, of course." Cona smiled without hesitation.
"Then it's settled."
Kyle stepped out of the carriage and whispered a few words to the Niffler.
The Niffler, which had been flying towards Hogwarts, suddenly turned and headed towards London with the carriage.
"Wait..." Cona thought of something, "What if Muggles see the carriage in London?"
"Don't worry." Kyle said, "That's another advantage of the Niffler carriage. Muggles can't see these special magical creatures, just like they can't see Dementors. And the carriage is even simpler."
Kyle tapped his wand on the carriage, and it was immediately shielded by something.
"Concealment Charm, a bit crude, but it's enough here in London."
The carriage flew through the hazy cloud layer above London and reached its destination in less than half an hour.
They arrived at a square that seemed to have some history.
"Get ready." Kyle said to Cona, "This place is also protected by the Brave and Loyal Charm."
Cona nodded slightly, looking a bit tense.
As soon as the carriage came to a stop, before the two of them could even jump down, a cold voice came from outside.
"Who's there? Come out, no wands."
The voice sounded familiar.
"Don't worry, Charlie, it's me." Kyle extended his hand out of the carriage first to show that he wasn't holding a wand before sticking his body out.
"Kyle?" Charlie said in surprise, "Why are you here?" He ran over but didn't put away his wand.
"I should have known. This carriage is obviously from Hogwarts, and they haven't changed it in decades."
"But you pointed your wand at us." Kyle said.
"I had to, it's my duty. I still need to confirm." Charlie smiled, "Now, there's one more question. Where are you going?"
"Number 12, Grimmauld Place." Kyle said, "That should be enough to prove that I'm not someone else disguised by Polyjuice Potion, right?"
"The Death Eaters don't know this address." Charlie and Kyle hugged.
At this moment, Cona also stepped out of the carriage.
Charlie was taken aback for a moment, then squinted his eyes at Kyle without saying a word, looking at him with a teasing expression.
"We just happened to pass by." Kyle acted as if he didn't see his expression and said, "Are Fred and George here?"
Charlie nodded, "They just came back half an hour ago." But then he hesitated and pulled Kyle aside, asking in a low voice, "Not trying to spoil the fun, Kyle, but this is the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix. Did Professor Dumbledore know you're bringing this girl here?"
"I haven't had the chance to tell him yet." Kyle said, "But I can assure you, Cona is on our side. With her connection to Professor Snape, she is entitled to know about this place even if she hasn't officially joined the Order."
Dumbledore's agreement for Cona to go to Niko's estate already indicated his attitude. Even if Cona hadn't joined the Order yet, her connection to Snape was enough.
"Okay, I don't doubt that." Charlie hesitated only slightly before agreeing with Kyle's words.
"Follow me." He waved to Cona and took the lead.
"Mom will be very happy to see you both."
Then, to Cona's astonishment, a house suddenly expanded, pushing aside the houses marked 11 and 13.
"Let's go, quickly." Charlie said, leading the way up the stone steps. He pushed open the door and shouted inside:
"Mom, come and see who's here!"
"Keep your voice down, Charlie!" Mrs. Weasley came out from a room, "Shouldn't you be outside on guard duty? It's not time for lunch yet."
"No, Mom, it's Kyle. He's here." Charlie explained.
"Kyle?" Mrs. Weasley was taken aback and instinctively looked behind Charlie.
"Oh, Kyle, dear, what a wonderful surprise."
She quickened her steps and looked at Charlie for confirmation before giving Kyle a hug.
"Why are you here at this time?" She said, "I asked Professor Dumbledore, and he said you had other matters to attend to during the holiday and couldn't come here."
"That's right. We were on our way back to Hogwarts and just happened to pass by London, so we thought we'd drop by."
"Kyle," said Kyle.
"We?" Mrs. Weasley noticed that there was also a girl behind Kyle.
How to put it... For a moment, she was even more excited than seeing Kyle.
"This... I guess you must be Cona, Kyle often mentions you."
"Yes." Cona turned to look at Kyle, who was acting nonchalantly, and then looked back at Mrs. Weasley, "Cona Prince."
"Welcome, dear." Mrs. Weasley hugged her, "I'm so glad there's a newcomer here."
"Newcomer?" Cona was puzzled.
To be honest, she still didn't understand what was going on, nor did she know where she was.
The Weasley family? It shouldn't be, she remembered that the Weasley family, Kyle, and Cedric all lived in St. Catchpole Village.
Seemingly noticing her confusion, Mrs. Weasley asked, "Dear, didn't Kyle tell you where this is?"
Cona shook her head.
Mrs. Weasley immediately glared at Kyle in disapproval, but just as she was about to explain, two excited voices came from behind her.
"Cona..."
"How did you get here!"
Fred and George ran over, one after the other, almost knocking Ron over as he came out to check the situation.
"Do you know each other?" Mrs. Weasley asked.
"Mom, we've known each other for six years," Fred said quickly, "And it's not just us, Dad, Charlie, and Bill know her too."
He was referring to the last Quidditch World Cup, when Cona was with them, but Mrs. Weasley didn't go, so she hadn't met her.
"She's the Cona we mentioned before," George said, "And one of our best friends..."
"But her relationship with Kyle is obviously better."
When they got to this point, the two of them suddenly winked and gave a sleazy smile as if they knew something the others didn't.
It was really sleazy, even Mrs. Weasley couldn't bear to look, so she twisted their ears and pushed them back into their room.
"Sorry, dear, please forget about those two unclean things just now." Mrs. Weasley calmly turned around, "Where were we? Oh, the Order of the Phoenix."
"The Order of the Phoenix?" Cona blinked.
"Yes, it's an organization Dumbledore founded to fight against Death Eaters, and this is the headquarters."
Mrs. Weasley said, "Okay, don't stand at the door anymore, come with me, I made stewed beef for lunch, it'll be ready in a moment."
"Charlie, you go outside, Bill will come to find you for the shift change at lunchtime."
"Okay, Mom."
Charlie, who was about to go inside, could only say reluctantly, and then walked out of the house, closing the door behind him.
"This way, dear." Mrs. Weasley took Cona and Kyle to the kitchen.
At this moment, Kyle suddenly noticed several heads poking out from the direction of the stairs.
From top to bottom, they were Harry, Hermione, Ginny... As for Ron, he was right next to them.
"Why are you still here?" Kyle asked curiously, "Today is the last day of the holiday, aren't you taking the train to school?"
The Hogwarts Express had departed early in the morning, and under normal circumstances, they shouldn't still be here.
"We were," Harry explained, "But Mr. Weasley said that Professor Dumbledore specifically arranged for a one-time connection to the Floo Network, and we can get back to school in just a second."
"I see, that's quite convenient." Kyle said.
"Yes," Harry nodded, "But Kyle, why are you here too, and at this time?"
"Didn't I just say that? I'm just passing by." Kyle said.
However, his words could deceive Mrs. Weasley and Harry, but not Fred and George.
While Mrs. Weasley was taking Cona into the dining room, the two of them simultaneously grabbed Kyle and pulled him into another room.
"Come clean..."
"What are you doing!"
Fred and George stood on either side of Kyle, surrounding him.
This work is organized and uploaded by 69 Book Bar~~
"Don't say it's convenient..."
"This lame excuse can't fool us!"
"I didn't think so." Kyle shrugged, "I came here because I wanted to go to Knockturn Alley, remember what I mentioned in my letter to you before?"
"Knockturn Alley?" Fred thought for a moment, "You mean, the thing about watching over Draco Malfoy?"
"Yes." Kyle said, "How about it, did he go to Knockturn Alley during the holidays?"
The entrance to Knockturn Alley wasn't far from the Weasley brothers' shop, and even from inside the shop, they could see the situation at the entrance through the window glass.
So when he was writing to the Weasley brothers before, he casually mentioned this matter.
"We're not sure either." George shook his head and said, "You know, there's a lot going on with magic now, we don't have time to always be watching from the shop."
"But we assigned this task to the house elves in the shop." Fred said, "The elves always have an extraordinary enthusiasm for work, assigning them is the right choice."
"Makes sense." Kyle patted the shoulders of the two, "Then why did I tell you all this?"
After saying this, Kyle was about to leave the room.
"Hey, wait!"
Fred quickly blocked the door, explaining, "We were going to ask in the afternoon, then write to you."
"I didn't expect you to come back suddenly.
"Even if we helped a little, you should tell us what your plan is. We won't let you leave until you do."
The two stared at Kyle, refusing to let him leave the room without an answer.
They were too curious. Why was Kyle suddenly so interested in Draco Malfoy?
"Come on, tell us. Are you planning something against the Malfoys?" Fred asked. "If so, please take us with you."
"We've been waiting for this day for so long!" George added eagerly.
The conflict between the Weasley and Malfoy families was well-known in the wizarding world. Mr. Weasley and Lucius Malfoy had even gotten into a fight at Flourish and Blotts, which made the front page of the Prophet for several days.
A few years ago, due to a blocked platform, Ron had to fly a car to school. Lucius had made a big deal out of it, lobbying everywhere, nearly costing Mr. Weasley his job.
Besides these incidents, there had been many other disputes between the two families, and the feud continued to this day without pause.
Now, with an opportunity to strike a blow against the Malfoys, they didn't want to miss it.
Kyle knew what they were thinking.
"Sorry, you're overthinking it," Kyle said. "This time, it's just about Draco Malfoy."
"That's fine. One person is enough," Fred said. "Just tell us."
"Yeah," George nodded repeatedly. "You're about to go back to school and prepare for the N.E.W.T. exams. You won't have much time to deal with things outside of school."
"Maybe we can help you."
Kyle hesitated for a moment. "Do you really want to know?"
"Yes, yes."
"Tell us!"
The two were so excited that their heads were spinning.
"Alright," Kyle said. "The fact is, I found out that Draco Malfoy is planning to help Death Eaters enter Hogwarts."
The room fell silent.
A second later, Fred pouted. "If you don't want to tell us, just say so. Why make up such a story to deceive us?"
"Even if you're making it up, at least put some effort into it," George said disdainfully. "A Malfoy... letting Death Eaters into Hogwarts? That's a bit far-fetched."
"Even Ron wouldn't believe this."
The two looked at Kyle again, disappointed by his dismissive attitude.
But Kyle remained calm.
"A Malfoy can't do it... What if I helped him?"
"Help him with what?" George asked cautiously. "You don't mean helping him transport Death Eaters into Hogwarts, do you?"
"Yes," Kyle said. "Is there a problem?"
Fred and George's first thought was that Kyle had been given a Polyjuice Potion.
But they quickly realized that Charlie was guarding the door, and he wouldn't make such a rookie mistake.
Moreover, Kyle's demeanor and tone didn't seem like he was joking.
It seemed like it was true...
The two immediately became excited, eagerly crowding around Kyle, pinning him to a chair. One massaged his shoulders, while the other patted his legs, both acting as if they were the most attentive hosts.
"Quick, tell us everything..."
"We've long disliked Hogwarts for banning our prank products from the school.
"It's like they're crushing our dreams.
"They're completely denying us!
"We're at odds with this school rule!"
The two were so passionate and enthusiastic that it seemed like if Kyle gave the word, they would lead the Death Eaters into Hogwarts, overthrow Dumbledore, and create a brand new Hogwarts.
"You're so brave... Does Mrs. Weasley know about this?" Kyle asked calmly.
"Of course not.
"Otherwise, Mom would kill us..." Fred shrugged.
"Alright, tell us your plan."
"It's not my plan, it's Malfoy's," Kyle admitted. "He plans to use a Vanishing Cabinet to create a new secret passage into Hogwarts."
"A Vanishing Cabinet?" Fred stroked his chin. "You mean the kind that connects two different places?"
"Besides this, is there any other way to create a secret passage from the school to the outside?"
"Impossible," George frowned. "Aren't Vanishing Cabinets long gone?
"I read a book about alchemy once, and it said that since sixty years ago, someone used a Vanishing Cabinet to infiltrate the International Confederation of Wizards and kill an important witness. After that, they were all destroyed."
"That's right," Fred said. "And the alchemists who made the Vanishing Cabinets were forced to sign a magical contract, swearing never to make them again and never to reveal the method."
"Even the Malfoy family doesn't have the power to get their hands on such a thing."
"That's true," Kyle said. "But coincidentally, there's a forgotten Vanishing Cabinet right in Hogwarts."
"Did Malfoy find it?" Fred's expression turned serious. "No, I have to tell Dad."
"Don't rush," Kyle stopped him this time. "Malfoy didn't find it, I did."
Fred and George stopped in their tracks.
But before they could even breathe a sigh of relief, Kyle continued, "However, I've already given that thing to Malfoy."
