Chapter 74: Discussing Cooperation, and the Shell-Shocked Cindy Doppeler
Chapter 74: Discussing Cooperation, and the Shell-Shocked Cindy Doppeler
"Alright, I'll give it a try."
Cindy Doppeler didn't share Su Yu's intense aversion to bug juice. She took the cola, unscrewed the cap, and took a small sip.
Feeling the carbonated bubbles dance on her tongue, she squinted her eyes slightly.
"What do you think of the taste?" Su Yu asked curiously. He was genuinely interested in how an alien would perceive cola.
"Um, should I be honest?"
"Of course."
"It tastes pretty strange, almost like drinking toilet cleaner." Cindy Doppeler looked at the cola in her hand and added, "But saying 'toilet cleaner' might be a bit off. It's more like a toilet cleaner that's been sweetened and carbonated."
Su Yu: "..."
He had given her a Pepsi. Maybe a Coca-Cola would have been better?
Cindy Doppeler set the cola on the table and poured herself a glass of bug juice, raising it to Su Yu. "In comparison, I think our Leiko bug juice tastes better and even provides protein."
"Let's move on to the main topic." Su Yu rubbed his forehead, not wanting to continue this conversation.
The Skrull taste preferences were vastly different from humans, so discussing this further was pointless.
"I agree, let's focus on the important matters." Cindy Doppeler finished her bug juice in one gulp and sat upright in front of Su Yu. "Mr. One, why have you come to see me?"
"Of course, it's with the intention of cooperation." Su Yu crossed his arms and spoke seriously. "Your citizens oppose the war between the two planets, and so do we. Since we share this common ground, there is a foundation for cooperation between us."
"But why should I cooperate with you?" Cindy Doppeler looked at Su Yu, her eyes gleaming with a dangerous light. "Killing you would earn us a 100 billion Lanktei reward. Which country could refuse such a massive sum?"
Su Yu remained unfazed, meeting Doppeler's gaze with a smile. "First, do you really think your country can kill me? I dared to go to Stenner City, and I fear no divine-level powerhouse like Stiem. Why would you think you have the capability to kill me?
Furthermore, if I had the courage to come see you directly, do you think I wouldn't be fully prepared? Do you think I'm a fool?"
Hearing Su Yu's words, Cindy Doppeler lowered her head, falling silent.
Indeed, their country had no divine-level powerhouses, and the chances of subduing Su Yu were slim to none.
As for informing the Lanktei Alliance of Su Yu's whereabouts—hah, a mere 100 million was nothing to her.
Su Yu stood up and continued, "Secondly, if we cooperate, it will be a win-win situation. Both our planet and your country will benefit greatly!"
Cindy Doppeler remained calm. "Mr. One, may I interject?"
"Go ahead."
"Cooperation with you would indeed benefit your Blue Planet. You would gain advanced technology and more practical psychic cultivation techniques from us. But what benefit would we, the Beker Nation, receive? And we would be taking a significant risk by angering the Lanktei Alliance."
Su Yu had anticipated Cindy Doppeler's response and smiled. "The benefits you would receive are numerous. First, you can trade for Blue Planet's precious mineral resources."
Su Yu took out a gold bar and tossed it onto the table.
Bang!
The gold bar hit the table with a sharp, resonant sound.
"I've brought 100 tons of this gold, which is worth several billion Solar Coins. If you need other metals, I can bring those too, in any quantity you desire! And you only have to deal with one seller, so no worries about bidding wars."
Cindy Doppeler thought about it for a moment and nodded. "That does give us an advantage."
Baker Nation's technological capabilities were a step below those of the Lankte Alliance and the Solar Empire. Selling their advanced technology to some of the poorer countries on Skrul didn't yield much profit, and those countries weren't very interested in it either.
But "Blue Star" was a different story!
This major client had a voracious demand and a robust purchasing power, with a vast consumer market.
Most crucially, they were the only nation on Skrul that could access this market! Long-term trade could indeed bring in profits beyond imagination!
Cindy Doppeler felt a slight stirring of interest at this thought.
As for selling technology to the Blue Star people, which some might call "aiding the enemy," well, Baker Nation had always opposed the invasion of Blue Star. They had no moral qualms about doing business with the Blue Star people.
Seeing Cindy Doppeler's interest, Su Yu pressed his advantage. "Secondly, in one year, Blue Star will have many high-tier powerhouses. We will have over a hundred Seventh-Rank Legends and 3 to 5 Eighth-Rank Gods.
Even if our transaction is exposed in the future, with our support, the Lankte Alliance and the Solar Empire won't dare to do anything to your nation."
"What? That many?!" Cindy Doppeler was genuinely shocked.
"3 to 5 Eighth-Rank Gods? You know, we Skrulians only have 7 God-Rank powerhouses in total. How can Blue Star suddenly produce so many?"
"Of course, I'm not lying," Su Yu smiled. "One of those Eighth-Rank Gods will definitely be me! Two months ago, I was just an ordinary person. Now, thanks to the game from the SINGER civilization, I have reached the Sixth Rank. I have full confidence that I can advance to the Eighth Rank in 10 months!"
"You?" Cindy Doppeler looked at Su Yu with disbelief.
"Of course, and Eighth Rank isn't my end goal."
Su Yu took a brown paper from his necklace and placed it on the table.
This brown paper was given to him by a War Monitor from the SINGER civilization. With this paper, he could go to the Holy Silver Federation's Holy Silver Secret Court for advanced training after the war.
This invitation was extremely important, so Su Yu always kept it with him.
"This is...!!!" Cindy Doppeler was utterly shocked, her eyes wide with disbelief, almost falling out of their sockets.
Skrul also had many young students who could study in the Holy Silver Federation, about a thousand per year.
However, most of these students went to ordinary academies. The Holy Silver Secret Court was the most prestigious institution in the Holy Silver Federation!
The last time a Skrulian entered the Holy Silver Secret Court was 20 years ago, and it was a noble prince from the Solar Empire. The then newly crowned Emperor Manina XIII of the Solar Empire was so delighted that he announced it globally, and leaders from all over the world went to Sun City to congratulate the prince.
Now, this "Agent One" in front of her had received an invitation from the Holy Silver Secret Court? Could it be that he could break through the Eighth Rank and become a "Planetary Powerhouse"?
Cindy Doppeler was completely stunned, unable to speak.
