Chapter 739: The Cat and the Prince (Second Update)
Chapter 739: The Cat and the Prince (Second Update)
"Ajak, make your choice. Will you help Earth and humanity, or stand with the Celestial to destroy this world?"
Jerry stared into Ajak's eyes and asked.
Actually, Ajak's answer wasn't crucial. If she chose to help Earth and humanity, that would be ideal, as it would mean the entire Eternals, except for Ikaris, would rebel.
If she still sided with the Celestial, Jerry would simply bind her and Ikaris, then release them after securing the Celestial embryo. It wouldn't affect the plan.
With eight Eternals involved, it would be enough to draw Arishem's attention.
However, Jerry felt that the likelihood of Ajak choosing to support Earth and humanity was higher.
Based on the movie, she had already leaned towards Earth and humanity by the year 1500 AD. After Thanos snapped his fingers, delaying the Emergence, she became even more determined to prevent it.
"Perhaps Arishem's decision isn't entirely correct. At the very least, Earth shouldn't be destroyed. But with our abilities, how can we stop the Emergence from happening?"
After struggling for a while, Ajak finally followed her heart, though she was still somewhat confused.
"Can't we put him to sleep? Use Druig's mental control abilities!"
Sersi stepped forward and suggested.
She had discussed this with the others before, and they believed Druig's mental control could be used to put the Celestial into a deep sleep, thus preventing the Emergence.
Ajak shook her head.
"No, even though the Celestial on Earth is still an embryo, his mind is far beyond what Druig can control."
As an Eternal who had not had her memories erased and had guarded the Emergence multiple times, she had a clear understanding of the Celestial's immense power, which far surpassed their own.
"I can create a device to connect all of our cosmic energies and channel them to Druig, amplifying his mental control abilities many times over."
Phastos proposed.
But Ajak shook her head again.
"Even if Druig's abilities can temporarily put the Celestial to sleep, we can't keep providing energy indefinitely. Once our energy is depleted, the Celestial will still wake up and complete the Emergence."
"I think you shouldn't channel your energy to Druig, but to Sersi."
Seeing that everyone was struggling to find a solution, Jerry spoke up again.
Sersi pointed at herself in surprise.
"Me? But my abilities can only change inanimate objects, not living ones."
"No, that's just because you haven't fully developed your abilities. If you can absorb the cosmic energies of others, I believe you can directly transform the Celestial's body into stone."
Jerry pointed at the black horse next to Ajak and used the Transformation Spell to turn it into a stone horse.
"Trust me, I'm an expert in this, and I'll help you when the time comes!"
"I think we can try it. If it doesn't work, we can think of other solutions. After all, there are still a few months before the Emergence."
Kingo raised his hand in agreement.
Sersi bit her lip and nodded.
"I'll do my best!"
Seeing Sersi nod, a smile spread across Jerry's face. He knew things were basically settled.
Sersi would definitely be able to petrify the Celestial, not because she had done so in the movie, but because Jerry would pull a fast one and switch the Celestial. Even without the cosmic energy boost from the other Eternals, Sersi could still accomplish the task.
The reason it had to be Sersi was to ensure that when Arishem eventually captured the Eternals and discovered through their memories that Sersi had petrified the Celestial, there would be no suspicion.
With enough cosmic energy, Sersi's abilities could indeed achieve this.
"Ajak, do you know where the Celestial seed on Earth is hidden?"
Druig asked at this point.
Ajak nodded:
"I do, but before we act, we need to go back to the house and talk to Ikaris. He might not be able to accept our plan."
"Ikaris is with you?"
Sersi looked at Ajak in shock.
Ikaris had suddenly disappeared from her side a hundred years ago, and she never imagined he would be living with Ajak.
Ajak quickly waved her hands:
"Sersi, it's not what you think. Ikaris left you because he learned the truth about the Emergence. He was afraid you would try to stop it, but he didn't want to lie to you, so he came to me.
He is very loyal to the Celestial, so convincing him will be difficult."
"Leave it to me!"
Sersi turned and walked toward the nearby elegant two-story house. The others exchanged glances and followed closely behind.
Ajak, however, held back Jerry, pointing to the black horse that Jerry had turned to stone, and said with a hint of resentment:
"Mr. Jerry, can Nicole be restored? She's my favorite horse!"
"Oh, sorry, of course."
Jerry paused, then waved his hand, and the black horse instantly returned to its original form.
Ajak, delighted, mounted the horse and extended her hand to Jerry:
"Want a ride?"
"Thanks!"
Jerry didn't refuse, climbed up behind Ajak, and they rode off to catch up with the others.
"What? You want to stop the Emergence and kill the Celestial!"
In the living room of Ajak's house, Ikaris's face changed drastically when he heard from Sersi about their plan to kill the Celestial and that Ajak had agreed to it.
Ignoring Sersi's attempts to reason with him, Ikaris flew up and burst through the roof, his eyes glowing as he launched a laser attack at Phastos below.
"I can't let you betray the Celestial, so I'm sorry, friends!"
Phastos could create devices that connect everyone's cosmic energy, so if he were killed, the others would be unable to stop the Emergence.
Ikaris's actions were so swift that none of the Eternals were prepared.
They knew Ikaris might not agree with their plan, but they never expected his reaction to be so intense and ruthless, to the point of trying to kill his former comrades.
Fortunately, Jerry, who had been standing nearby, was ready. As soon as Ikaris took off, Jerry cast an Ironclad Shield over everyone.
Ikaris's laser eyes hit Jerry's magical shield without causing even a ripple.
"Since you disagree, you'll need to rest first!"
Ikaris was surprised that his attack had been blocked, when he suddenly heard a strange voice from behind him, and then he fainted.
Jerry had used an Apparition to move behind him and hit him with a Stunning Spell.
Ikaris, though the most powerful warrior among the Eternals, was just a small Karamel to the current Jerry, easily dealt with with a single move.
