Chapter 738: What Have You Been Teaching Her?!
Chapter 738: What Have You Been Teaching Her?!
In front of the shattered Fairy Tail Guild, Makarov, the guild master, stood alongside Mira and the others.
Noticing Feng Ye and Erza's group returning, Mira immediately waved and informed Makarov, "Master, Feng Ye and the others are back."
"Oh?" Makarov replied.
"You all took it upon yourselves to undertake an S-class mission. Now, come here and face your punishment!" Makarov, with his hands behind his back, turned to face Natsu, Gray, and the rest. He stroked his beard and suddenly raised his hand, his arm extending and enlarging as he brought it down in a chopping motion on Natsu's head, sending him crashing to the ground.
Makarov then swiftly turned his hand and delivered another blow, this time sending Gray toppling over.
Finally, Makarov swung his elongated arm in an arc, aiming a slap at Lucy.
However, this slap never landed on Lucy. Feng Ye casually flicked his magic robe sleeve, conjuring a gust of wind that formed a wall, blocking Makarov's palm with a gust of wind.
"Let's forget about Lucy; she won't do it again," Feng Ye said indifferently.
"Yeah, yeah!" Lucy, cowering beside Feng Ye, nodded vigorously to Makarov, displaying an attitude of sincere acknowledgment of her mistake.
Makarov raised an eyebrow at this, saying, "You're too soft on her... But since you say so, let's forget about Lucy's transgression for now. However, if she breaks the guild rules again, the punishment will be doubled."
At that moment, Natsu, who had been knocked down by Makarov, jumped to his feet, his face contorted in anger. "Is this really the time for this? Our guild has been destroyed!"
Makarov glanced at Natsu and said, "Calm down. It's not a big deal. The Phantom Lord's idiots only have this much ability. They took advantage of our absence and vandalized the guild."
"Absence?" Erza's cold gaze sharpened, and she furrowed her brows in question.
Mira explained, "Yes, they did it at night when everyone was away, so there were no casualties."
Hearing that there were no casualties, Erza's expression softened slightly. With her arms folded across her chest, she said, "Nevertheless, what they did was still a bit too much."
"Never mind," Makarov shook his head dismissively. "The Magic Council has prohibited conflict between guilds. Phantom Lord's provocation is an attempt to lure us into starting a war, giving them grounds to complain to the Council. Opponents who only resort to such underhanded tactics aren't worth getting angry over."
"You're in a rare good mood today," Feng Ye remarked as he strode toward the guild, extending his hand toward it.
In truth, Makarov was still angry, but after weighing the pros and cons, he decided to take the high road and not stoop to Phantom Lord's level. Hence, his unusually calm demeanor.
In contrast, Feng Ye felt nothing. On the one hand, he had known beforehand about the longstanding feud between Phantom Lord and Fairy Tail, and the timing of this incident was to be expected. On the other hand, such trivial matters couldn't evoke any emotional response from him.
It was incredibly difficult to provoke him these days. After all, in his eyes, he could see through the entire world, and with a mere wave of his hand, he could crush it. Aside from Erza, Wendy, and Mebis, who had accompanied him for a long time, he didn't care about anyone else.
Hmm!
As Feng Ye lowered his hand, the numerous iron pillars that had pierced and shattered the guild building began to rise into the sky, one after another. They then transformed into faint specks of light in the air and vanished. The broken stones and bricks also seemed to be in fast motion as they rapidly reassembled toward the shattered guild building.
Within just over ten seconds, the destroyed guild was completely restored to its original state.
"I'm not the type to get punched and not punch back," Makarov said nonchalantly. "Besides, you can fix it, so it's no big deal."
Feng Ye lowered his hand, having watched the guild's restoration. Instead of heading toward the guild, he walked in the opposite direction and casually remarked, "Since they've gone as far as to destroy the guild, who knows what other despicable acts they might commit."
...
Evening fell on Magnolia Park.
Lebi strolled leisurely through the park, with Jet and Troy, fellow mages from the guild, by her sides. As one of the adorable girls in the guild, Lebi, with her petite stature, gentle nature, and cute looks, naturally attracted suitors. Jet and Troy had seized the rare opportunity to 'coincidentally' bump into her during her solitary walk.
"I wonder what kind of girls guys usually like," Lebi mused aloud as she walked.
The reason for her contemplative stroll was that earlier in the afternoon, when she had encountered Feng Ye and Erza, it seemed to her that the two had become even more 'intimate' than before.
Although she knew it was a natural development, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of distress as she, too, had a soft spot for Feng Ye. Hence, her decision to take a walk in the park to clear her mind.
Life was tough for her.
She couldn't match Erza in terms of strength, ability, figure, or looks. She felt inferior in every aspect, and the more she thought about it, the more tangled her heart became. Even if she wanted to pursue Feng Ye, she had no idea how to go about it.
"Of course, guys like girls who are petite and adorable, just like you, Lebi," Jet and Troy replied in unison. Then, they glared at each other before Jet quickly added, "I think a girl like you is the best, Lebi."
Lebi's eyes widened in surprise. "Really?"
Having been beaten to the punch by Jet, Troy shot him a glare before turning his attention back to Lebi, who was looking at him expectantly. "I feel the same way," he said with a smile.
"Hmm..." Lebi's cheeks flushed slightly as she pondered their words. Perhaps it wasn't impossible. After all, matters of the heart were subjective; some preferred older sisters, while others favored younger sisters.
Maybe Feng Ye would like a girl like her?
But doing nothing wasn't an option.
Lebi pondered for a moment before asking Jet, "Do you think that if you don't take action when you like someone, you'll never have a chance?"
"Yes!" Jet exclaimed, surprised by Lebi's question. He thought she was referring to his efforts and felt delighted that she had noticed. "For someone you like, you must always give it your all!"
Troy chimed in, "Exactly! If you don't try, how will you know if you still have a chance?"
Lebi pondered their words for a moment before lifting her head and offering a smile. "I see... Thank you both for encouraging me! Jet, I should head back now."
After waving goodbye to Jet and Troy, she turned and ran off, leaving the two boys staring at each other in bewilderment.
Encouraging her?
What was that about? Were they talking about themselves?
After a brief moment of confusion, realization dawned on Troy, and he glared at Jet. "Are you an idiot, Jet? What have you been telling her?"
It was obvious that Lebi liked someone but was hesitating to make a move, and it didn't take a genius to guess who that person was—Feng Ye, of course! Jet, you fool!
He should have just advised Lebi to let it go if she felt she had no chance. That way, both he and Troy would still be in the running. Now, everything was ruined!
Jet's face reddened with anger as he glared back at Troy. "What does it have to do with me? You're the idiot!"
Heartbroken that the girl he liked was pursuing another, he was filled with rage, but he dared not challenge Feng Ye directly. Instead, he redirected his anger at his arch-nemesis, Troy.
As soon as he finished speaking, Jet lunged at Troy, looking ready to take them both down.
Troy, unwilling to be a punching bag, fought back, and the two instantly became a tangled mess of limbs.
Unbeknownst to them, lurking in the shadows, a figure with cold eyes watched their scuffle. This person glanced in the direction Lebi had left before baring their teeth in a grim smile and stepping toward the brawling duo.
