Chapter 737: Impossible! The Dark Lord is Invincible!
Chapter 737: Impossible! The Dark Lord is Invincible!
"Killing you first is the same, anyway. I was going to deal with you eventually, so changing the order doesn’t matter!" Ivan said with a malevolent tone.
Under Ivan’s constant taunts, Voldemort’s composure completely shattered.
In a mix of shock and anger, he abandoned his tightly guarded defense. The Fiendfyre surrounding him immediately sprang into action, the vicious flames rising high like a Giant Serpent ready to attack, swiftly burning towards Ivan.
Ivan was well aware of the tenacity of Fiendfyre. He frowned slightly, and his wand trembled. A more massive Fiendfyre burst from the tip of his wand, expanding into the shape of a Dragon as it caught the wind.
The two Fiendfyre formations soon collided in mid-air. The flying flames scorched everything in their path, reducing the surrounding tables, chairs, and cabinets to ashes. In just a few seconds, the larger Fiendfyre Dragon engulfed the Flame Great Serpent in a single bite.
Voldemort’s eyes widened in disbelief. He couldn’t accept that he had been outmatched in his own specialty, Dark Magic.
But he had no time to dwell on it. The Fiendfyre Dragon was already charging towards him.
Voldemort’s face turned grim. He swung his wand with all his might, summoning a semi-circular Magic Barrier to temporarily hold back the Fiendfyre Dragon.
The intense heat made his robes flutter, and cracks began to spread across the sturdy Magic Barrier.
Just then, a clear and shrill neigh echoed through the inferno.
A spectral Unicorn, ignoring the raging Fiendfyre, easily passed through his Magic Barrier and charged straight at him.
Voldemort’s heart raced with fear. He dared not stay a moment longer and, without hesitation, transformed into a Dark Fog, smashing through the window and fleeing as fast as he could.
He was terrified…
Facing this young wizard was sheer madness. Staying any longer would surely mean certain death.
"Want to run? Not so fast! Stay here!"
Ivan glanced at the seven seconds left in his Protection Mode, feeling a twinge of frustration. He had no intention of letting Voldemort escape so easily. Even if he couldn’t kill him today, he was determined to teach Voldemort a harsh lesson.
With a wave of his wand, the Fiendfyre scattered around him coalesced into a whip, lashing out viciously at the Dark Fog.
Voldemort, flying mid-air, sensed the danger approaching from behind. Just as he was about to evade, a sharp voice rang out from below.
"Impossible! The Dark Lord is invincible!"
Voldemort’s movement froze as he noticed the five Death Eaters on the square below, their eyes wide with shattered faith. The scream had come from one of them.
This momentary distraction was all it took. The Fiendfyre Whip was already upon him. Even in his Dark Fog form, he couldn’t avoid the attack, and a piercing scream soon echoed from within the Dark Fog.
Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, the invincible Voldemort was brought down by a single lash of the flame whip.
The square fell into a deathly silence. Apart from the faith-shattered Death Eaters, Dawgert and the others were equally stunned.
While Ivan had previously told them about his feat of injuring Voldemort, it had been just words, and no one had actually witnessed it. It was hard for most to believe that a teenage wizard could defeat the overwhelmingly powerful Dark Lord.
Unfortunately, the reality now before them was even more absurd than what Ivan had described.
Dawgert had expected at least a fierce battle, but Ivan had sent the seemingly powerful Voldemort flying with just one move and now had him completely pinned down.
If it weren't for the Dark Lord's ability to transform into Dark Fog and his immense pressure, they would have thought this was a fake Voldemort.
The most surprised person on the scene was Asia. Only she knew that Ivan's true strength far surpassed Voldemort's. The initial repulsion of Voldemort was mostly due to Dumbledore's efforts; otherwise, they wouldn't have gone to such great lengths to build the Safe House.
As everyone was thinking, the human-form Voldemort fell from the sky and crashed heavily onto the solid stone slabs. His black robe was scorched and pitted, and a small ball of Fiendfyre had attached itself to his exposed left arm.
Without hesitation, Voldemort swung his wand and severed his left arm, blood splattering everywhere, and intense pain flooded his mind.
But under the scrutiny of the onlookers, Voldemort gritted his teeth and remained silent, using Dark Magic to quickly regenerate a new arm.
Under the threat of death, Voldemort compressed this incredibly complex arm regeneration process into just two seconds.
Even so, before the new arm was fully formed, the mansion ahead exploded in a burst of flames, and the demon-like figure appeared before him once again.
Time was limited, and Ivan didn't waste words. As soon as they met, three Spell Beams shot out from his wand in quick succession.
Voldemort's face changed. The previous defeat had left him unwilling to engage Ivan again. After a few brief defenses, he activated blood magic.
Infinite Dark Fog seeped out of Voldemort's body, spreading in all directions. In no time, Ivan was enveloped in a space composed entirely of Dark Fog.
This scene was familiar; Ivan vaguely remembered the Horcrux Diary using a similar tactic on him in his second year.
Compared to then, the Dark Fog space was several times larger and even more bizarre. Just being here, various extreme negative emotions surged into his mind, trying to shatter his will.
However, Ivan's strength was no longer what it used to be. He was not about to be restrained by such a minor trick. He lifted his wand, and the Fiendfyre expanding in the outside world seemed to respond to his call. With a wave of his wand, it transformed into a massive blade dozens of meters long, slicing through the air!
The vast Dark Fog space trembled violently, splitting in half and finally collapsing and shattering.
In front of him, Voldemort's figure had vanished without a trace, clearly breaking through the blockade and using Apparition to escape.
With the heightened perception provided by this special state, Ivan could clearly detect the sudden spatial fluctuations and could even trace them back to Voldemort's escape coordinates without any issue.
However, since the Protection Mode provided by the System was about to end, Ivan had no intention of pursuing Voldemort. He used the last two seconds to calm the raging Fiendfyre.
After finishing this, Ivan turned to look at the crowd in the square, and the System's notification sounded in his mind.
