Chapter 736: I Am the One Who Surpasses All Under Heaven!
Chapter 736: I Am the One Who Surpasses All Under Heaven!
After glancing at the blade, Kuro raised his gaze to the martial artist standing atop the building, arms crossed.
"Hey", Kuro called out. "Your companions are dead. What’ll you do now?"
Boom!
In response, the figure leaped down from above, landing heavily and kicking up a cloud of smoke and dust.
From within the swirling debris, a deep, resonant voice echoed:
"They were never comrades—merely temporary allies. I seek only strong men to test myself against. Their deaths prove their weakness. If I die, it will be the same."
The smoke cleared, revealing a man in a coarse hemp robe, his muscular frame coiled like a spring. He widened his stance, fists shifting into a classic martial arts posture—left foot forward, right foot back, one arm extended, the other pulled close.
Boom!
The earth trembled as his aura surged outward in a shockwave. Cracks spread across the ground, and loose debris lifted slightly, vibrating toward the air.
"I am Giruon, the man who swears to surpass all under heaven!!"
His voice, deep and resonant, now carried a choral intensity, as if multiple echoes overlapped. His battle aura burned with unrelenting ferocity.
Kuro’s expression darkened. "I guessed it. You’re the strongest among them."
The moment Giruon appeared, Kuro had sensed it—their auras were nothing alike. Unlike Apu’s eerie vanishing act, Chuan Zang’s mercurial unpredictability, or Sig’s Zoan beast-like savagery, Giruon’s presence was deceptively calm, like the eerie stillness before a storm.
Of the four elder pirates, this man was unquestionably the mightiest—a pure unarmed combatant, a relentless powerhouse!
"You came to Gold City too?" Kuro asked. "What’s your goal?"
Giruon’s aura alone screamed that he was no one’s follower.
"World Nobles", Giruon replied bluntly. "Killing those who arrived here is my sole purpose beyond my lifelong vow."
"Brazen", Kuro shrugged. "Then why chase me? Go hunt World Nobles yourself."
He’d let Giruon kill them all—deal with the consequences later.
"I already did."
Kuro froze. "You said… what?"
——
"Ka… Karmiel Saint!"
In a corner of Gold City, a man in a black dress uniform stared in horror at three fallen figures in long robes, his face twisted with fear.
He’d merely left to capture a woman Karmiel had desired. When he returned…
Three World Nobles and their armored guards lay battered beyond recognition, their bodies littered with concussive injuries. Karmiel’s two female relatives had gaping holes in their abdomens, and the Saint’s own head was shattered, missing half its mass. The corpses radiated brutality—clearly the work of someone who’d beaten them alive with fists alone!
The black-clad man screamed, dropped the woman he’d captured, and fled.
World Nobles were dead!
No one could survive taking the blame for this! As a mere guard, he’d be executed. Better to escape now than wait for death.
But he wouldn’t remain unnoticed for long. Moments later, a man wearing half a steel mask sprinted over, eyes gleaming with excitement.
Spandam—commander of this Celestial Gold operation. As a former CP9 officer now in CP0, he still nursed his ambitions. Please the World Nobles, and maybe he’d reclaim his CP9 position.
He’d just delivered the good news about the gold’s safe storage to Karmiel Saint…
Then his face paled, terror-stricken.
——
"Baro-baro…"
Beyond Gold City’s waters, ten warships cut through the sea.
"Lucci officer, Transponder Snail", reported a Marine officer aboard one vessel, handing the device to Rob Lucci, who stood at the bow, eyes fixed on the Grand Line.
Lucci glanced at the caller, then took the receiver.
His body stiffened.
——
"Wait, you’re joking, right?!"
Back in the commercial district, Kaku stared at his Transponder Snail receiver, eyes wide with disbelief.
"Did this really just happen?! Kuro, Kuro!"
He dropped the receiver and sprinted toward the source of Kuro’s aura.
Meanwhile, at the entrance between the commercial district and Vip area, Zoro smashed his receiver and strode off, supporting Shusui, toward the direction of Kuro’s aura.
"Things just escalated…"
——
Kuro stared at the rough, hulking figure before him, half-tempted to ask if this was a joke.
But Giruon’s unwavering aura and solemn tone left no room for doubt.
Some men couldn’t lie. Others wouldn’t deign to. Giruon was the latter.
His aura screamed it—this was no fabrication. He’d truly killed World Nobles.
"Are you insane?!" Kuro bared his teeth, torn between awe and shock.
Technically, he wouldn’t have stopped Giruon from targeting World Nobles. But actually killing them? That was another matter entirely.
Even the Four Emperors treated World Nobles as untouchables, some even collaborating with them. Others might dare act but would never announce it.
Giruon did both.
"You fear mere insects", Giruon said. "Why gawk? Killing them draws all eyes to me—so I may fight every strong man in the world!"
He dragged his feet, the scuffing of straw sandals against stone piercing the air.
"Fight! Come at me with intent to kill—or I’ll kill you!"
"Giruon… Giruon…"
A gentle voice flickered in his mind. A soft, feminine figure slowly materialized in his thoughts.
Giruon’s eyes flared. He crushed the memory, his face twisting into something monstrous.
"I care only to crush everything alive in this world!!"
This man—a madman incarnate!
Madness personified, even surpassing Kaido.
Kaido at least had the self-awareness to build his influence before fighting, chasing the One Piece.
But Giruon? He’d burn it all down without hesitation—less a pirate, more a living legend.
"An extreme martial cultivator…" Kuro sighed, shaking his head. "Someone’ll have to answer for this. You may not be enough alone, but catching the ringleader’s better than nothing."
