Chapter 735: Serna's Memories (Second Update)
Chapter 735: Serna's Memories (Second Update)
Hearing Sesi's request, a hint of hesitation appeared on Gilgamesh's face. He agreed with Sesi and felt that such an important matter should indeed be clarified with Ajak.
However, he was also concerned about Serna's condition. Although, over the years, his efforts had almost prevented Serna from having any more episodes, leaving this familiar and stable place could be risky.
Before Gilgamesh could voice his concerns, Serna, who had been quietly eating, suddenly rolled her eyes back, summoned a longsword and a shield, and cleaved the long table filled with food in half.
"Everyone will die! Everyone will die!"
Serna muttered to herself, and after splitting the table, she lunged at the nearest Water Sprite with her longsword.
Serna's special ability allowed her to shape the cosmic energy within her body into various powerful cold weapons, which she used with her exceptional combat skills to slay enemies.
If the Water Sprite were struck by Serna's longsword, it would likely result in severe injury or death.
"Serna, no!"
Seeing Serna, who had not had an episode in a long time, lose control during a meal, Gilgamesh was shocked. He quickly summoned a pair of gauntlets and rushed to stop her.
Unfortunately, the incident happened too suddenly, and he was some distance away, pouring wine for everyone, making it impossible for him to reach her in time.
Fortunately, there was a much more powerful Jerry present.
"Time Pause!"
Pointing at Serna, Jerry immediately paused time in her vicinity, freezing her in place.
The Water Sprite immediately screamed and ran behind Sesi, her ability being Illusion, which provided no defensive or offensive capabilities.
"Serna's Eternal Madness has flared up again!"
Gilgamesh rushed to Serna's side and, looking at her frozen form, asked anxiously:
"What's happening to her?"
"Don't worry, I've temporarily paused time around her. What exactly is this Eternal Madness that the Water Sprite mentioned?"
Jerry feigned a puzzled expression.
Sesi quickly explained the Eternal Madness, a condition known among the Alisem, which was similar to mental disorders and insanity in the human world.
"If you don't mind, I have some knowledge of healing magic and could try to help treat Miss Serna's Eternal Madness."
After listening to Sesi's explanation, Jerry paused and responded.
He understood more about Eternal Madness than Sesi did. It was a result of memory cleansing errors when the Alisem returned from missions, causing their memories to become disordered and their mental states unstable.
Jerry had methods to treat such conditions. He was a true master in the study of the mind and memory, far surpassing even the Celestial Group.
While in terms of power and the ability to create planets and life, Jerry might not match the multidimensional Celestial Group, his diverse abilities and his own dimensional world gave him a significant edge.
If not for the complexity of Earth and its connections to many powerful ancient gods, he had considered incorporating Earth into his dimensional world.
That way, even if he offended the Celestial Group, they would have no way to retaliate, and it wouldn't affect the lives of humans on Earth.
"You can treat Eternal Madness?"
Gilgamesh's face lit up with surprise. He suddenly remembered that Witches were rumored to possess healing magic.
“I can only try.”
Jerry walked up to the immobilized Serna and placed one hand on her forehead. Then, he mentally invaded her brain, starting to help her recover all the memories that the Supreme Celestial Alisem had deleted.
Memories cannot be completely erased. What Alisem called "deleting memories" was actually just a form of memory sealing. Once the seal was broken, the memories would naturally be restored.
After about a minute, Jerry released his hand and lifted the time magic that had immobilized Serna.
“It’s done. There shouldn’t be any problems now.”
Indeed, Serna’s eyes, which had been blank, now returned to their normal expression, and she also dismissed the longsword and shield she had conjured.
However, her expression was filled with sorrow.
“Mr. Jerry was right about the God Manifestation. Our home planet, Olympia, never existed. We were all directly created by the Celestials in the World Forge.”
With all her memories restored, Serna shared everything she knew.
Listening to Serna’s recollections of the planets they had protected ultimately being destroyed by the God Manifestation, everyone fell into a heavy silence.
Jerry’s words had only made them half-believe, and deep down, they still harbored a glimmer of hope. After all, no one wanted to be a mere tool created to complete a task.
But now, that hope was gone. Serna’s memories had proven everything.
This was exactly what Jerry wanted. The experiences in Serna’s memories would drive the Eternals to stand firmly against the Celestial Group.
“Actually, there’s nothing wrong with the God Manifestation. At least we can leave Earth and stop living like children, looking like freaks!”
As everyone remained silent, the Water Sprite spoke up first.
While she enjoyed Earth, she had grown tired of never aging, never being able to have a love like Sesi, and always being treated like a child.
“Water Sprite, didn’t you hear what Serna said? Our home planet, Olympia, doesn’t exist. Once the God Manifestation ends, we’ll have all our memories deleted and be sent to other planets to repeat the same experiences!”
Sesi replied with a grave expression.
She didn’t want the God Manifestation to happen. She loved Earth, the humans on Earth, and the life there. She didn’t want to lose all her memories.
“Water Sprite, if you don’t like your current body, maybe I can help you.”
Hearing the Water Sprite’s reasons for opposing the God Manifestation, Jerry immediately offered.
“If it’s just a temporary change using magic, that’s no use. My Illusions can do that. I want a real, fully grown body.”
The Water Sprite sighed, assuming Jerry’s offer was about using Illusion magic to change her appearance.
Jerry waved his hand.
“Of course not. I can truly help you get a new human body. I have experience with this. You’ve heard of Vision from the Avengers, right? He originally had a mechanical body, but now he’s a real human.
Just tell me what you imagine yourself looking like as an adult, and I can solve this problem for you right now.”
“Really?”
The Water Sprite’s eyes lit up, and she immediately used her Illusion to create the image of a stunningly beautiful woman.
She had fantasized countless times about what she would look like if she could grow up. This illusion was the form she found most satisfying over the past hundred years.
