Chapter 734: Youth's Charm
Chapter 734: Youth's Charm
In the midst of their intense battle, both Erza and Leo paused, their faces reflecting their surprise as they looked towards the underground center of the ruins.
On the other side, Lucy, who was also engaged in combat, came to a halt, her eyes filled with shock as she gazed towards the center of the ruins. "Th-That... What a terrifying amount of magic power..." she stammered, a hint of fear in her voice.
Elsewhere, Natsu, Gray, and their companions, who were battling against Leo's allies on the island, likewise ceased their movements and turned their attention towards the central ruins. They wore expressions of astonishment.
A bead of sweat formed on Gray's forehead as he muttered, "Is this... Is it Deliora that's been resurrected? No, this magic power feels different. Who could it be?!"
There was no way that Leo possessed such power. This magical force was almost comparable to that of their master, Ul. More importantly, there was a slight resemblance between this power and Ul's!
Beneath the ruins, Feng Ye stood clad in a loose-fitting robe, his expression calm as he faced Ultear. "You have indeed grown," he said amicably. "Seeing your unwavering conviction, I shall accept your challenge. Come."
"... " Ultear's gaze turned solemn at Feng Ye's nonchalant attitude.
She was well aware that her magic power was by no means inferior to the weaker members of the Ten Wizard Saints. Yet, despite her unleashed power, Feng Ye displayed not a hint of tension or significant change in demeanor.
This made it difficult for her to gauge his true strength. Over the years, her extensive investigations into Feng Ye had failed to uncover his actual capabilities, and the limited intelligence she had gathered suggested that his personal power was at least on par with the Saints.
At this moment, she had no choice but to take a gamble and engage him in battle, regardless of his true strength. Only through combat would she be able to discern his true level of power.
With this thought in mind, Ultear raised her palm, and the crystal ball within began to shimmer, creating countless afterimages that floated upwards and transformed into countless spheres of light.
This was the Lost Magic, Arc of Time—each of those crystal spheres manipulated through time magic represented a potential 'future'!
"Divine Brilliance!" Ultear cried out, raising her palm and unleashing a mighty blast of magic power. The spheres of the future responded, radiating light that converged on Feng Ye at the heart of the ruins, seeking to obliterate his body into fragments with the power of the future!
But just as the radiant beams were about to reach Feng Ye's body, he casually lifted his left hand and waved it dismissively.
In that instant, a burst of power froze the magic-infused beams in midair.
Immediately afterward, the beams silently disintegrated, along with the crystal spheres that had been conjured. They shattered into countless fragments, scattering in all directions and vanishing from sight.
Ultear grunted, her body swaying as she felt the backlash of her magic being struck. She took a step back, her face paling slightly.
A look of astonishment crossed her features as she stared at Feng Ye. "Th-This... This is the Arc of Time, it's impossible..."
The power that Feng Ye had unleashed with that casual wave of his hand was none other than the very same Lost Magic she had diligently practiced—the Arc of Time!
Divine Brilliance had not been shattered; it had been undone! Undone by the same magic!
"Future Flash!" Ultear exclaimed, her eyes wide with disbelief. Gritting her teeth, she brought her hands together once more, reassembling the shattered crystal ball and surrounding Feng Ye with it.
"You..."
Ultear felt Feng Ye's power once more and was now certain that he was using the Lost Magic, Arc of Time. Not only was his magical power far deeper and more unfathomable than hers, but his understanding and mastery of the Arc of Time far surpassed her own!
A hint of fear flashed in her eyes, and she took a few steps back before suddenly leaping into the air, attempting to flee.
However, as soon as she jumped, Feng Ye extended his finger and pointed it at her.
"Freeze!"
A simple restraining spell was released from Feng Ye's hand, akin to the will of a god, instantly freezing Ultear in mid-air, as if her entire body had been solidified.
Her body couldn't move, but her consciousness remained active.
Feng Ye slowly walked in front of her, wearing a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes, and then extended his finger to gently hook her chin.
This action released the restraint on her face, allowing her to move her eyes and speak, but her body remained frozen, unable to break free no matter how she struggled.
"Wh-What do you want...?"
Ultear's eyes trembled as she looked at Feng Ye before her.
Feng Ye replied casually, "You challenged me, and I accepted. Your condition was that if you won, I would erase the writing on your body. But now that you've lost, how can you just run away? You should accept the punishment you deserve."
Feng Ye propped his chin with his hand and stared at Ultear, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Hmm... I've already written the words, and rewriting them would be boring. Oh, I know! This seems like a good idea."
As he spoke,
Feng Ye smiled faintly and suddenly raised his hand, pointing his finger at Ultear's brow.
Ultear's heart filled with dread, and she had a bad feeling about this. She wanted to dodge, but her body was frozen in place, leaving her to watch helplessly as Feng Ye's finger touched her brow.
Silence.
She felt an inexplicable power envelop her body.
This power caused the vast magical power within her to diminish rapidly, along with her physical strength.
Whoosh!
Feng Ye retracted his finger and casually waved his hand, releasing the restraining spell.
Ultear fell to the ground, and her first instinct was to run away. But before she could make any move, her clothes slid off her body.
It wasn't that the clothes had been untied, but that they had mysteriously become much larger—no, more accurately, she had shrunk!
"Wh-What is this...?"
Ultear instinctively covered herself with her hands and clothes, noticing that her hands had shrunk significantly. Her eyes widened in disbelief.
She touched her cheeks and could feel that she had indeed shrunk; it wasn't just her body that had become smaller, but her age had regressed to around twelve years old!
This is impossible!
The Arc of Time couldn't reverse the time of living beings! If it could, this magic would be almost invincible!
But her body had clearly regressed to the age of a twelve-year-old!
"Hmm, this is much cuter."
Feng Ye commented with interest, "So, this time, the punishment is that your body will remain forever at the age of twelve."
