Chapter 733: Reunion with Ultear
Chapter 733: Reunion with Ultear
"You're too soft, Fengye," Elusa sighed helplessly.
Fengye smiled and said, "Lucy already understands her mistake, and that's good enough. It's not the style of Fairy Tail to dwell on past mistakes."
Elusa's gaze toward Lucy softened a bit, and she sheathed her sword, pointing at the towering ruins in the center of the island. "Is it there?"
"Yes, that's the place."
Lucy nodded immediately.
Elusa took a step forward toward the ruins and said, "Then let's hurry."
Fengye also stepped forward but glanced at Lucy, who was still standing in place, and smiled. "What's wrong? Do you want me to carry you?"
"N-no..." Lucy's cheeks reddened, and she quickly shook her head, hurrying to catch up.
The trio soon traversed the forest and mountains, arriving at the ancient ruins located in the center of Galuna Island.
Here stood towering ancient ruins, a peculiar pyramid-shaped structure with an obviously ancient style.
Elusa looked at the ruins, frowning slightly. "I can't sense Natsu's or Gray's magic. Are you sure they're inside?"
"Yes, we encountered the enemy here," Lucy nodded, her expression turning grim. "I don't know the specifics, but the enemies trying to resurrect the demon are powerful. Natsu, Gray, and I were separated during the fight... Anyway, the most important thing is to stop them from resurrecting that demon."
Fengye stood with his hands behind his back, his gaze piercing through the ruins to the center, where a huge block of ice held a frozen demon.
The demon Deliora.
"Deliora," Fengye said calmly.
His voice caused both Lucy and Elusa to turn and look at him, and Lucy was slightly astonished. "Brother Fengye, do you... know that demon?"
Fengye replied casually, "One of the demons created by Jellal, and one of the strongest. Its strength is comparable to the Four Kings of Ishgar and surpasses an average member of the Ten Wizard Saints."
"About ten years ago, it attacked a village in the north, killing all of Gray's family. After learning magic, Gray went to seek revenge but was easily defeated. Gray's teacher, Ul, fought Deliora to save Gray but ultimately fell and was forced to use the forbidden magic 'Absolute Ice' at the cost of his life, freezing Deliora in ice."
Fengye's explanation was more detailed than Gray's previous account.
He continued casually, "Don't worry, that demon is already dead. Even if the ice is melted, it won't be able to resurrect, and even if it does, I can handle it."
Elusa didn't doubt Fengye's words, and hearing this, she breathed a slight sigh of relief. "Then I'm relieved. Lucy, let's go in and deal with those people!"
"O-okay..."
Lucy's response was weak.
The two of them charged directly into the ruins and soon encountered the leader of the group trying to release Deliora from the Absolute Ice—Leo, Gray's senior apprentice!
"Tsk, it's Fairy Tail again. You guys are annoying," Leo said, noticing the Fairy Tail guild mark on Elusa's shoulder and showing a hint of annoyance.
Compared to before, Lucy now exuded confidence, knowing that Fengye was backing her up and Elusa was by her side. She took out a Celestial Spirit Key, lifted her chin, and said proudly, "This time, you should just surrender!"
"Surrender? Are you joking?"
Leo snorted and waved his hand. "Go and take care of her."
"Yes!"
His subordinates, all wearing hoods, rushed toward Lucy.
Elusa glanced at them and determined that they were ordinary mages who wouldn't be a match for Lucy. She turned her attention back to Leo and said in a low voice, "I don't know what your goal is, but unfortunately, I won't let you achieve it here."
"Then try me," Leo said coldly, a chill forming between his hands.
"Hmp!" Elusa snorted and charged forward, clashing with Leo.
On the other side, Fengye paid little attention to the battle between Elusa and Leo. Confident that Elusa could handle them, he strolled into the ruins, reaching the bottom where the demon Deliora was sealed in ice.
He glanced at Deliora briefly before turning his head to the side and said indifferently, "No need to hide over there. Come out."
From the corner, within the dark shadows, a sinister laugh echoed.
"Hehehehe..."
A small, skinny old man wearing a mask appeared. With a leap, he landed on a stone pillar and said, "I never expected the Queen of the Fairies and you, who refused the position among the Ten Wizard Saints of the Council, to come here. It seems Zero's plan is doomed to fail."
Fengye looked at him with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes and said, "What's this about Zero and his plans? Do you hate your mother, Ultear, so much that you want to melt even the ice that is her life?
"!!!"
The masked figure stiffened.
Whoosh! In the next moment, Fengye casually raised his hand and, from a distance of nearly ten meters, ripped off the mask from her face, then snapped his fingers to dispel her transformation magic.
Accompanied by a flash of white smoke, the 'old man' was forcibly expelled from his disguise, transforming into a girl wearing a slightly loose white kimono, holding a crystal ball in one hand, and a white scarf around her neck.
It was none other than a grown-up Ultear!
Compared to her younger self, the current Ultear had undoubtedly grown a lot. Both her magical power and confidence had increased exponentially since her childhood self, and she even had one of the Ten Wizard Saints, Jellal, under her control. Although she was surprised to see Fengye again, she did not show any fear.
"Oh dear, I've been found out," Ultear said, the corner of her mouth lifting slightly. "As expected of you to see through my disguise so easily."
With his hands behind his back, Fengye looked at her casually and said, "You don't really think that a shoddy disguise like that could fool my eyes, do you? Nothing can hide from my sight. By the way, it seems you still haven't been able to get rid of the mark I left on you back then."
"..."
Hearing Fengye mention the mark, Ultear's expression turned rigid.
Ever since her encounter with Fengye in the Tower of Heaven, she had returned to her guild, but no matter what means she tried, she couldn't erase the mark on her neck, and even her guild master was powerless to help.
As a result, she had no choice but to wear a scarf to cover the mark on her neck. Otherwise, if someone were to see it, it would surely raise a lot of strange ideas.
Because the mark was—
Right.
Ultear huffed, her gaze turning hostile. "I was just about to look for you. It's about time to get rid of this annoying magic, anyway."
The reason she couldn't erase the mark was that a formula magic had been used on it, connecting the mark to her life force, making it so that she couldn't remove it and even had to protect it.
According to the research of the Midnight's CEO, the only one who could undo this magic was the caster himself.
Fengye smiled faintly, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "What if I refuse to remove it?"
Ultear's voice turned cold. "Then prepare to die here... I'm no longer the same as I was back then. My magical power now is vastly different!"
Meeting Fengye was unexpected, but the current her no longer feared him! She, too, had reached the level of the Ten Wizard Saints, and she possessed the lost magic, Arc of Time!
As her words fell, a surging wave of magical power erupted from her body. This power was no less than that of the Ten Wizard Saints, instantly shaking the magical factors in the entire sky above Galuna Island.
