Chapter 732: The Eternals (First Update)
Chapter 732: The Eternals (First Update)
"Seal it!"
Jerry took out a specially designed double-layer rice cooker. First, he sealed Hela's soul, which was still struggling to break free from the time laws, at the bottom layer using a sealing Magic. Then, he sealed her physical body as an energy source in the second layer.
Once the sealing was complete, he threw the rice cooker into his Ring World and lifted the Law Domain's coverage.
"It's over!"
Loki stood there, stunned, as he watched Hela being sucked into the rice cooker and disappearing.
What had he just witnessed? That powerful Hela, who could easily crush Mjolnir with one hand and brutally beat the awakened Thor and himself, had been effortlessly pinned down and sealed away by a Witch from Midgard in just a few seconds.
The entire process took less than three seconds, and he barely had time to react.
He knew Jerry was strong; after all, he had been outsmarted by Jerry's intricate Magic back then. With a few more years of growth, Jerry must have become even more powerful.
Jerry's ability to instantly heal his near-fatal injuries and repair Thor's Mjolnir was a clear indication of that.
But he never imagined that Jerry's strength had reached such a level, where he could subdue Hela, who had even given the All-Father Odin headaches when Odin was alive, in just three seconds.
It was almost mind-boggling.
Even if Jerry and Hela had battled for three days and three nights, with him and Thor barely managing to defeat her, he wouldn't have been as shocked.
What had happened in the outside world during his time in the Dungeon?
"Looks like even if I become the king of Asgard, I shouldn't mess with this guy. He's just too terrifying!"
"Jerry, thank you again for your help!"
At that moment, Thor summoned his hammer and, rubbing his sore stomach from Hela's kick, walked over.
He wasn't as surprised as Loki. After all, he and Jerry had been through many perilous battles, and he had a good understanding of Jerry's capabilities.
Especially when he brought Jane back to Asgard, Odin had mentioned that Jerry's strength might have already surpassed his own.
So, it wasn't that shocking to Thor that Jerry could handle Hela.
If he didn't have confidence in Jerry, he wouldn't have sought his help. He wasn't the type to drag friends into a death trap.
"We're friends, and as you said, Hela is a threat to Earth as well."
Jerry waved his hand, indicating that Thor shouldn't worry.
In truth, even without Odin and Thor's request, Jerry wouldn't have let Hela go. Not only was she needed to catalyze the Celestials, but her character suggested that after ruling Asgard, her next move would likely be to invade the Nine Realms.
"Let's head back. King Odin has passed away, and Asgard needs both of you to take charge."
"Once I've sorted things out in Asgard, I'll come back to have a drink with you!"
Thor wasn't the type to fuss over details. He said his goodbyes to Jerry, then grabbed the still-dazed Loki, shouting for Heimdall to open the Bifrost.
Seeing Thor and Loki leave, Jerry vanished on the spot.
The deal with Odin was complete, and he had even exceeded the goal by helping Thor awaken Thor's Power. The matter of who would become the king of Asgard was now up to Thor and Loki to decide.
Now, Jerry's plan was to first find the Eternals and see if he could manage to secure the Celestial Seed today.
Why not go directly to the Indian Ocean near the Emergence Site and move the Celestial Seed buried deep underground to the Ring World, instead of seeking out the Eternals first?
Of course, it was because Jerry still harbored some fear of the Celestials.
The supreme Celestial, Arishem, scattered Celestial Seeds on suitable planets, and every billion years or so, these seeds would absorb all the life on the planet to hatch a true Celestial.
These newly born Celestials would then create more planets, more suns, and more life, expanding the universe continuously.
Therefore, the birth of each Celestial was of utmost importance to the Celestial race.
If Jerry were to directly take the soon-to-be-born Celestial Seed and hide it in his Ring World, using Magic to claim it as his own, the Celestials would certainly come after him.
From the movie, it was clear that although Arishem needed the Eternals to know what was happening on Earth, when the Celestial Seed Tiamut was killed, he immediately sensed it and rushed to Earth as quickly as possible.
To take down Tiamut, Jerry would have to be prepared for a war with Arishem, a Celestial on a multiverse level, and other Celestials on a single-universe level.
With his current strength, he knew he couldn't win a fight, but he could definitely run. However, he feared that the Celestials might take out their anger on Earth, and the destruction of Earth was not something he wanted to see.
After much consideration, he decided that if he wanted to avoid trouble with the Celestials and still obtain Tiamut, the Eternals were crucial.
In the sky above London, England, Jerry transformed into an owl and, using the owl's natural talent for finding people, flew toward a building on the south side of the city.
Two minutes later, he landed on the window of the second floor of the building. Through the glass, he saw a young woman inside, lecturing her students about ecological balance.
The young woman looked to be in her late twenties, but Jerry knew she was older than Odin, having been one of the ten Eternals sent to Earth by Arishem in 5000 Bce to eliminate the Deviants. Her name was Sersi.
The growth and development of the Celestials required a sufficient number of intelligent beings on the planet.
To achieve this, they created a species called the Deviants, designed to kill the top predators on the planet and prevent overhunting, thus delaying the Emergence.
However, the Deviants later rebelled, no longer under the control of the Celestials, and evolved into the most powerful predators on the planet.
To eliminate the Deviants, the Celestials created the World Forge and designed and created the Eternals, synthetic beings that could never evolve, and sent them to various planets to hunt the Deviants and protect the Celestials' Emergence.
After each mission, the Eternals' memories were erased, and only the leader knew the true mission. The others believed their mission was simply to kill the Deviants and protect the intelligent life on the planet.
Sersi was not the leader of this mission, but she was the most kind and human-friendly of the ten Eternals, and she was the one who ultimately killed Tiamut in the movie.
Thus, Jerry chose Sersi as the first Eternal to approach, a crucial step in his plan.
