Chapter 731: Hela's Use (Second Update)
Chapter 731: Hela's Use (Second Update)
"Long time no see, Loki!"
Ignoring Hela for the moment, Jerry turned to Loki and cast a healing spell, quickly restoring Loki's torn chest to normal.
Loki, now healed, looked at Jerry with a very complex expression.
If Jerry hadn't interfered back then, his plan might have succeeded, and he wouldn't have spent the past few years imprisoned in the dungeon. So, naturally, Loki's feelings toward Jerry were not particularly favorable.
However, the current situation clearly required Jerry's help, and Jerry had just saved him from a near-death state, which was a significant act of kindness.
"Thank you, long time no see."
In the end, Loki adjusted his mindset and expressed his gratitude to Jerry.
If Jerry could help them deal with Hela, and if he, Loki, became the future king of Asgard, then their past grievances would be insignificant.
"Jerry, I knew you were the most reliable. Can you help me repair Mjolnir?"
Seeing Loki return to normal under Jerry's magic, Thor quickly pointed to the shattered remains of Mjolnir, which Hela had crushed into countless pieces nearby.
Thor knew that Jerry had a special repair spell that might be able to fix his beloved Mjolnir.
Mjolnir was the weapon Odin had given him at birth, and it had been with him for over a thousand years. Even now, with Thor's Power awakened, he still felt he couldn't lose Mjolnir; it was his most cherished treasure.
"Restore!"
Jerry reached out, summoning all the fragments of Mjolnir to his hand and cast a reparo spell, restoring it to its original form. He then handed it back to Thor.
Though Mjolnir contained immense power, it was no challenge for Jerry to repair it, which was why he hadn't intervened when Hela had shattered it earlier.
"Midgard's mage, it seems you've chosen the wrong side."
Hela, seeing Jerry heal Loki and repair Mjolnir, narrowed her eyes and charged at Jerry with incredible speed.
With her extensive combat experience, she understood that a secret mage like Jerry was one of the most difficult opponents to deal with. If he used various spells to support Thor's attacks, even she would find it very troublesome.
So, her top priority was to eliminate this secretary mage before dealing with the two insignificant brothers.
"Leave it to me!"
With Mjolnir back in his hands, Thor's indomitable spirit seemed to be rekindled. Seeing Hela charge over, he roared and swung his hammer, rushing to meet her.
"Clang, clang, bang, bang, bang"
With the boost from Thor's Power and his thousand years of hammer-wielding experience, Thor was finally able to exchange a few blows with Hela.
Loki, seeing a chance for victory, quickly summoned his dagger and ran over to provide support for Thor.
However, before he could even reach Thor, Hela unleashed a series of rapid attacks, knocking Thor's hammer away and sending him flying back.
"Um, I think I don't need to be in such a hurry."
Seeing Thor fly back, Loki quickly stopped and retreated to Jerry's side.
No way, with Thor taking the brunt of Hela's attacks, he could provide some support and sneak in a few attacks. Without Thor as a meat shield, he would be pure cannon fodder.
"Let me handle this!"
Seeing Thor struggle to stand and recall Thor's hammer, ready to fight again, Jerry extended a hand to stop him.
Although Thor had awakened Thor's Power, he had only just done so and was no match for Hela, whose strength was second only to Odin's.
While Hela might not have the power to return to Asgard and take control, the inherent death energy and near-immortal body she possessed made her a formidable opponent, far beyond the reach of an average celestial father-level being.
"Die, all of you!"
Hela, no longer holding back, summoned hundreds of Celestial Swords, covering Jerry, Thor, and Loki in a wide attack range, aiming to end the fight in one go.
"Here, have them back."
As the hundreds of Celestial Swords, each carrying death energy, flew towards them, Jerry stretched out his hand and drew a large circle above their heads, using Spatial Magic to send all the swords back to Hela's head.
"Ah!"
With a muffled grunt, Hela, who had quickly dodged, found herself instantly pierced by a dozen of her own Celestial Swords.
Of course, Hela was not Loki. As a powerful Goddess of Death, such injuries were trivial to her. With a wave of her hand, the Celestial Swords vanished from her body, and the dozen wounds healed instantly.
"Spatial Magic, let's see how you dodge this!"
In the blink of an eye, Hela, having recovered from her injuries, unleashed all the death energy within her, conjuring two enormous Celestial Swords. She swung them at Jerry with a speed that was nearly impossible to see with the naked eye.
"I don't like close combat with women, so I'll just stop time and strike from the spirit realm!"
Facing the charging Hela, Jerry immediately activated his Domain, using the Law of Time to halt the flow of time in her area. He then stepped forward and delivered a palm strike to her abdomen.
Jerry's final blow did little damage to Hela's physical body but managed to force her soul out of her flesh.
Hela, infused with death energy and closely tied to Asgard, was not easy to kill. To eliminate her, she needed to be taken to a dimensional world where her power source could be completely cut off.
Initially, Jerry had planned to do just that—open the Ring World, draw her in, and resolve the matter there, fulfilling his promise to Odin.
However, he later changed his mind. Instead of killing Hela, he decided to seal her away. He needed her, a celestial father-level Goddess of Death, to help the Celestial Embryo fully form.
When the Celestial Embryo reaches a certain stage of growth, it will absorb the physical and soul energies of all life on the planet, completing its transformation into a true Celestial Group.
This process is known as Divine Awakening.
Jerry intended to claim the Celestial Embryo for himself and use it in his Ring World to create a new planet and life with Kurorido and others.
The most challenging part of this plan was providing the Celestial Embryo with enough physical and soul energy to achieve Divine Awakening.
Sacrificing Earth was out of the question, and randomly choosing another planet to sacrifice was not his style.
After much consideration, he decided that quality could replace quantity. Using a single, sufficiently powerful being to catalyze the Celestial Embryo's growth would have the same effect.
Hela was the perfect candidate.
Her near-immortal body and millennia-old powerful soul made her an ideal catalyst for the Celestial Embryo.
