Chapter 730: Thor's Awkward Dance (First Update)
“I am—Thor!”
Thor roared as he leaped up, unleashing all the newly awakened Thor's Power within him, transforming into a fierce bolt of lightning that struck Hela.
Hela simply waved her hand, and dozens of Eldritch Blades behind her shot toward Thor, aiming to skewer him like a flower before he could land.
However, Thor was clearly much stronger now. With a powerful swipe of his hands, he forced the dozens of Eldritch Blades to the sides with two mighty lightning bolts, leaving him unscathed.
“Boom!”
The two gods clashed head-on, and Hela was immediately blasted away by Thor's full-force, most powerful Thor's Power.
After sending Hela flying, Thor thought everything was over. He returned to Loki, picked him up again, and said with a face full of sorrow:
“Loki, my foolish brother, I never wanted to be the king of Asgard. If you hadn’t died, I would have gladly given the throne to you.”
“Since you put it that way, I think there might still be hope for me.”
Hearing Thor’s words, Loki, who had closed his eyes, suddenly opened them as if experiencing a moment of clarity.
“Loki, you’re alive!”
Seeing Loki open his eyes again, Thor became instantly excited.
Loki weakly whispered:
“I think if you can’t find a way to save me, I’ll really be dead in a few moments.”
As a prince of the Frost Giants, though his body was much smaller than a typical Frost Giant, his vitality was no less strong.
Hela’s sword had indeed pierced his chest, but he used the innate Frost Giant ice power to freeze the fatal wound, preserving his last breath.
So, he wasn’t really unconscious just now; he was just pretending to be dead. Hela was so powerful that Thor couldn’t possibly defeat her, so by feigning death, he could avoid further harm and seek revenge for Thor later.
However, blocking that blow for Thor was a reflexive action. Though he regretted it afterward, it led him to pretend to be dead.
But now, seeing Thor’s sudden surge in strength and the fact that Thor was willing to give him the throne of Asgard, he could no longer continue the charade.
“Right, I’ll take you back to Asgard to find a healing mage to treat you!”
Thor, upon hearing this, quickly held Loki tighter and was about to summon Bifrost. However, a cold voice interrupted him.
“You do have some skill, but compared to the old man, you’re still far too weak!”
Turning back, Thor saw that Hela, whom he had just blasted away with all his might, was now standing up, completely unharmed. She walked toward them with two swords in hand, her face cold and emotionless.
“Thor, hit her with lightning again!”
Seeing that Hela was still alive, Loki’s face turned pale.
If Thor lost this time, he wouldn’t even be able to pretend to be dead.
Thor helplessly twitched his mouth:
“I just used the most powerful lightning I’ve ever unleashed on her, and look, not a single hair on her head is out of place!”
Seeing that Hela was unharmed, Thor knew his lightning hadn’t broken through her defenses.
“It seems we’re really going to die. Do you have any friends in Midgard who could help us? Oh, forget it, even if you do, it’s too late now.”
Loki’s voice was filled with despair.
Back when he was imprisoned, he had sent a powerful Destroyer to kill Thor, and many Midgard humans had come to Thor’s rescue.
Wearing the Iron Armor and flying around, the one with the Shield, the Archer, and that particularly troublesome Young Sorcerer who ultimately foiled his schemes.
Loki's words suddenly made Thor's eyes light up. His thick-headed mind hadn't even considered this possibility until Loki mentioned it.
As a member of the Avengers, Thor had quite a few powerful friends, and one of them could indeed come to help immediately and subdue Hela.
"Hela, let's take a break. I'll dance for you. This is a dance I learned in Midgard called 'So Beat It, Just Beat It.'"
Seeing Hela approaching with a menacing air, Thor suddenly remembered what Star-Lord had told him about how his most admired idol saved a town with dancing.
Inspired, Thor put down Loki and started performing the Moonwalk he had recently learned, while secretly pulling out the Magical Mirror.
Hela, who had been about to attack her two brothers with her two Eldritch Blades, was momentarily stunned by Thor's bizarre dance.
"What are you doing?"
"Dancing. It's the hottest dance in Midgard, Loki. Want to join me, brother?"
Thor answered Hela's question with a serious expression, then looked at Loki on the ground.
Loki was taken aback for a few seconds but then seemed to understand Thor's intentions. Weakly, he replied:
"I'd love to, but I'm not in the best condition right now."
"What on earth did Father create?"
Hela, watching the serious Thor and Loki, felt a growing sense of unease.
Meanwhile, Jerry, hidden high above, was almost laughing uncontrollably. He had been about to reveal himself and deal with Hela when Thor unexpectedly started his unique Moonwalk.
It seemed that Star-Lord's clownish influence over the past two years on Earth had truly affected many, especially Thor and Spider-Man Peter.
"Well, this is better. At least I don't have to come up with a reason for being here."
Looking at the Fae-Glimmered Mirror, Jerry put away the Magic Camera he had been using to record the scene, then entered the Mirror Dimension and connected a video call with Thor.
"So Beat It, Just Beat It, woof. Oh, finally connected, Jerry. I need your help, my sister is trying to kill me."
Seeing Thor, who was dancing and urgently calling for help, Jerry managed to keep a straight face as he replied:
"Don't worry, I'm on my way!"
On the other side, Hela, seeing the Magical Mirror in Thor's hand light up and hearing Thor's words, finally understood the reason for Thor's awkward dancing. Without hesitation, she charged forward with her two Eldritch Blades.
But just as she was halfway there, a stranger suddenly appeared beside Thor, clearly there to assist.
"A Midgardian Arcane Mage?"
Feeling the powerful energy that flashed when Jerry appeared, Hela immediately stopped and her face turned serious.
"Close enough!"
In response to Hela's question, Jerry smiled and nodded without further explanation.
Loki, seeing Jerry as the rescuer, felt a slight relief. He had been defeated by Jerry before and thus respected Jerry's strength.
However, he still felt that one Jerry alone would find it difficult to defeat Hela.
