Chapter 730: Open the Door, Community Outreach!
Chapter 730: Open the Door, Community Outreach!
One minute later, the group emerged from the house, each carrying their target.
Due to the urgency of the mission and the need to handle other objectives, Joseph and the others didn't linger. After exchanging information with Walker and Grace, they Apparated away from the spot.
"We can't afford to waste any more time..." Grace muttered to herself, still standing in the same place.
She had just learned from Joseph that the faster teams had already invited three or four targets during this time, while they had only just managed to secure one.
"Right, we need to speed up!" Walker nodded in agreement, not wanting to be the last to complete the task.
With renewed determination, the two pulled out their maps and Apparated to the location of their next target.
In the house ten meters away, Vincent, woken by the shouting and the sound of the door being forced open, slowly lowered the curtain.
While annoyed that these people were causing a ruckus and disrupting his sleep, Vincent couldn't help but feel a bit schadenfreude. He wondered what his neighbor had done to attract such a big commotion.
"But what does it have to do with me?" Vincent mumbled to himself. After a moment's thought, he gave up on the curiosity.
Such incidents were common in Knockturn Alley. Many Wizards had criminal records or had offended someone, leading them to hide in Knockturn Alley. It wasn't unusual for them to be suddenly apprehended.
Vincent yawned and climbed back into bed to continue sleeping.
After an indeterminate amount of time, a dull knocking on the door reached Vincent's ears, accompanied by the rough voices of several men.
"Open the door, Community Outreach!"
...
An hour later, the once-empty square was now crowded with the invited Wizards, the air filled with a cacophony of voices.
Most of the Wizards had been forcibly stunned and transported here, and few understood what was happening.
Upon waking, some had even tried to gather and resist, attempting to escape.
Unfortunately, the Aurors had already confiscated their wands. Without their wands, even a large group of Wizards couldn't cause much trouble, and the leaders among them were severely disciplined by the Auror guards.
Seeing the fate of these "pioneers", the square's order was barely maintained. The captured Wizards suppressed their rising anger and chose to observe, waiting to see what would happen before deciding their stance.
About ten minutes later, Walker and Grace arrived at the square, dragging two Wizards behind them. Realizing they were the last team to arrive, both looked somewhat dejected.
Fortunately, they hadn't been delayed for too long, and Ivan showed no signs of reprimanding them. Once the stunned Wizards had regained consciousness, Ivan slowly walked up to the magic podium.
The murmuring crowd fell silent, all eyes turning to the magic podium.
As Ivan ascended the steps, a sense of pressure gradually enveloped the crowd.
It felt as though someone was pressing a heavy weight onto their shoulders, gradually increasing the load.
Noticing the Wizards' expressions of shock and uncertainty, Ivan nodded to himself. The new bloodline magic he had acquired was even more powerful than he had anticipated. Even without the Dragon Transformation, the Dragon Aura alone had resolved many issues.
Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Ivan quickly made his way to the center of the magic podium, raised his hands, and spoke with great enthusiasm.
"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you all for accepting our invitation to this important gathering!"
The Aurors in the audience clapped politely, while the Wizards who had been brought there frowned and looked at Ivan coldly.
Vincent, seething with anger, sneered, "You call sending people to break into our homes, knock us unconscious, and drag us here an 'invitation'?"
Ivan did not get angry at Vincent's sudden interruption but instead responded with politeness.
"Please forgive the rudeness of the Aurors! The situation was sudden, and to ensure everyone's presence, some special measures were necessary to prevent ... certain ill-intentioned individuals from escaping!"
As Ivan spoke, his gaze shifted slightly to the right, where Winky remembered a few Death Eaters were tied up and lying at the base of the magic podium, looking quite pitiful...
Vincent shuddered at the sight, his tone softening slightly as he asked, "What does Lord Hals plan to do with us, after all this trouble?"
Ivan scanned the crowd below, his voice calm. "Now that all the Wizards of Knockturn Alley are here, today's gathering is to discuss the future of Knockturn Alley..."
The future of Knockturn Alley?
The Wizards in the square, upon hearing this, displayed mocking and disdainful expressions, but Ivan ignored them and continued.
"I've heard that Knockturn Alley is a sanctuary for the unfortunate, and some believe it's a haven for criminals and Dark Wizards. Regardless, chaos and violence have always been the norm here, and I doubt anyone here would disagree with that..."
Ivan paused, then turned to Vincent. "Vincent, if I remember correctly, your wife died in a Knockturn Alley brawl three years ago.
It was a fight that had nothing to do with you, sparked by a conflict between a few Wizards near your home. The fight spilled over, and your wife was tragically killed..."
"Though you have avenged her, the loss is irreversible, and I doubt that was the outcome you desired."
Vincent's expression darkened, as Ivan's words ripped open a long-buried scar...
Ivan did not intend to further provoke Vincent and quickly turned his gaze to another Wizard. "Mark, I heard your child was almost kidnapped, and you nearly died in your own home?"
"What are you trying to say?" Mark's face turned sour, and if not for the lack of a wand and the watchful eyes of the Casters, he would have attacked.
"Good question!" Ivan nodded, looking at the Wizards below him. "I believe Knockturn Alley has been in chaos for too long, and it needs a new order!"
