Chapter 727: Odin's Last Wish (Second Update)
Chapter 727: Odin's Last Wish (Second Update)
Recently, Jerry has gathered five potential helpers to assist him in creating planets and life: Kurorido, Yuzuko, Jellal, Mavis, and the Magic King.
However, they are only potential helpers. It will likely take a while for them to become as skilled and systematic as the Celestials in creating planets and life.
After all, even Jerry finds it difficult to create a planet and life himself. So far, he has only managed to create one planet, and that was by moving Ego Planet from elsewhere.
But that's not a problem. While he is not proficient, there are beings in this universe who are very skilled at such tasks.
These are the Celestials, who have been diligently working since the universe's birth.
However, the average Celestial possesses the power of a single universe, even if they don't have their own dimension. Given their numbers, Jerry would find it impossible to move against them.
Fortunately, there is a Celestial embryo within Earth that has yet to awaken.
What's even better is that this embryo needs to consume the life on Earth to grow. As Earth's superhero and protector, it is only natural for him to stop it.
Even if other Celestials come later, they would likely side with him, especially given his current strength, which the Celestials cannot afford to underestimate.
The Eternals, created by the Celestials, would find it hard to justify preventing the emergence of a new god. But Jerry is a genuine Earthling, always protecting the planet. Stopping the emergence of a new god is only logical.
At least this way, the Celestials won't see Jerry as deliberately provoking them; he is simply protecting his planet.
Once he deals with the Celestials, he can move the embryo to his dimension and try to control its growth to serve him.
This way, he will have a competent and experienced planet-creator.
Then, he can have this expert train Kurorido and the others—perfect!
If he can't control the embryo, he can try to extract the knowledge it carries and teach it to Kurorido and the others.
"Mom, I'm going out. I might not be back for dinner tonight."
With a new plan in mind, Jerry immediately stood up to leave.
Has, who was sweating profusely in the gym, training his increasingly youthful body, poked his head out.
"Take some time to contact Hermione and invite her over for dinner. It's been a while since we've seen her!"
"Yeah, Hermione hasn't been over in a long time. I've been experimenting with many new cake recipes recently. I'll have to bring her over to try them out."
Belle, who was whisking egg whites, walked out of the kitchen. Due to her powers, she has multiple clones, one of which focuses on researching recipes and baking. Her culinary skills have improved significantly, and she is very confident in her creations.
"Sure, I'll invite her over in a few days."
Jerry caught the small Charlie floating by and handed her to one of Belle's clones before turning to leave the villa.
In a few days, the cooldown period for the Panel will end, and he will go to the Harry Potter world to obtain the Spatial coordinates. Once he has the coordinates, he won't be limited by the Panel's cooldown and can bring Hermione to this world whenever he wants.
So, he readily agreed to Has and Belle's request to invite Hermione over, without the usual delay.
Leaving the villa, Jerry was just about to teleport to find the nearly formed Celestial embryo when a familiar voice echoed in his mind.
"Jerry, do you have time to visit Asgard?"
The owner of this voice was none other than Odin, the king of Asgard.
"Odin is calling me now?"
After a moment's thought, Jerry had a hunch. He temporarily put aside his plan to search for the Celestial embryo and drew a portal to Asgard with his hand.
Inside the Bifrost teleportation hall, as soon as Jerry appeared, Heimdall approached with a serious expression.
"Carmen, Odin is waiting for you in the Goddess's palace."
"I understand."
Seeing Heimdall's expression, Jerry became even more certain. He spread his wings and flew toward the rear of the Golden Palace.
In the hall of the Goddess Frigga's palace, Jerry looked at Odin, whose life force was nearly depleted, and couldn't help but sigh.
"King Odin, is it time?"
"Yes, if nothing goes wrong, my soul will enter Valhalla tomorrow. So, I'll be counting on you from now on!"
Odin smiled and nodded.
"It's my duty. I agreed to this condition with King Odin before, and it's not a big deal for me."
Hearing Odin's response, Jerry knew he had guessed correctly. Odin had called him because he was about to die and needed Jerry's help to deal with Hela breaking the seal after his death.
With Jerry's current single-universe-level power, handling Hela, who was barely at the level of a Sky Father, would not be a problem.
"Actually, King Odin, if you need it, I can help you extend your lifespan further."
After hesitating for a moment, Jerry tentatively added this suggestion.
Asgardians have a lifespan of 5,000 years, and Odin was no exception. However, with Jerry's current abilities, he could indeed break this limit and help Odin live a few hundred more years.
But Odin shook his head when he heard Jerry's words.
"No, if I stay alive, Thor and Loki will always remain as children. Moreover, the destiny of Asgardians is to go to Valhalla, where I can meet my father."
Jerry didn't say anything more because he knew that if Odin wanted to continue living, he likely had his own ways to extend his life.
For beings at his level, death was not the end.
Just like the Ancient One, who appeared to have died but was actually traveling through the multiverse with Eternity.
At the peak of the Sky Father level, unless both the body and soul are completely erased by an enemy, the death of the physical body alone is not true death.
"Tomorrow afternoon, I will take Thor and Loki to Norway. After I die, Hela will break the seal. If possible, please don't intervene immediately. I hope they can feel some pressure."
Seeing that Jerry agreed to fulfill his previous promise, Odin made one last special request.
Loki had been imprisoned in the Dungeon for several years due to an incident and inevitably harbored some resentment. Odin hoped that the pressure from Hela would help mend the relationship between the two brothers.
"Just wait a bit before acting. Don't worry, I'll gauge the situation well."
Jerry understood Odin's well-intentioned plan and nodded in agreement.
