Chapter 724: X784
Chapter 724: X784
Two days later...
Feng Ye returned to the main world with Lisanna in tow.
Lisanna's story of Edolas captivated the Magic Council, leaving them in awe. Soon, a crowd of curious mages gathered around.
"I-Is that how big I am over there?"
Wendy tilted her head back, looking up at Lisanna with wide eyes.
Lisanna smiled at the young dragon slayer and, unable to resist, stepped forward and swept Wendy into her arms.
"Eep!"
Wendy's face reddened as she let out a startled cry, her eyes sparkling with a mix of surprise and shyness. "L-Lisanna sister?!"
Lisanna held Wendy in her arms and laughed. "Yes, but you're even cuter here."
"..."
Wendy lowered her head, her cheeks still flushed, and her shy demeanor elicited a round of good-natured laughter from those nearby.
"Indeed, Wendy is the cutest," Erza agreed with a smile.
Natsu, a tad curious, asked, "Who's this Lucy person? I don't think we have anyone by that name in our guild."
Lisanna tilted her head, pondering the question. "That's true."
Her eyes drifted to Feng Ye, who sat not too far away.
With a slight smile, Feng Ye explained, "If there's no Lucy in this guild, it means she hasn't joined yet. But rest assured, a companion by that name will join us sooner or later."
"I see," Lisanna nodded, deep in thought. Then, a smile broke across her face. "The Lucy over there is quite fierce, so I guess our Lucy will be gentler. I can't wait to meet her."
Feng Ye offered a casual smile in response, choosing not to elaborate further. He took a sip of fruit wine from the cup beside him and turned his gaze toward the window, his eyes gazing into the distance.
...
Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, two more years passed, bringing them to X784.
This was the year the original story began, but there was a slight difference. Since Lucy's mother, Layla, had not passed away, Lucy was not oppressed by her father, Jude. Instead, she left home with her mother's support, driven by her aspiration to become a mage.
As she wasn't running away alone, it was easy for her to reach Magnolia and find the Fairy Tail guild.
"So this is Fairy Tail..."
Lucy pushed open the guild's door and stepped inside, her eyes sparkling at the sight that greeted her.
She first spotted Natsu and Gray in the midst of a scuffle, which excited her a little. Then her eyes landed on Mira, who was walking gracefully in a long skirt, carrying a tray of drinks. "It's really Miss Mira!" she exclaimed.
Mira set three mugs of beer on a nearby table and turned to Lucy with a smile. "How may I help you?"
Two years had passed since the incident.
Mira was no longer the tough-as-nails leader of a dark guild; she had transformed into a gentle and beautiful young woman, gracing the covers of several issues of Sorcerer Magazine.
"Um... I-I'm a mage, and I want to join your guild," Lucy stammered, her eyes shining with admiration as she addressed the magical world's equivalent of a celebrity.
Mira was taken aback by Lucy's request and felt slightly embarrassed. "I'm sorry, but the guild master has to approve new members, and she's not here right now."
"Oh..."
Lucy didn't seem too disappointed. Instead, she smiled and said, "Then I'll wait."
"I'm Mira Jane," Mira introduced herself with a smile. "What's your name?"
Lucy returned the smile, her expression full of charm. She took out a set of keys and waved them in the air. "I'm Lucy, a Celestial Spirit Mage."
Natsu and Gray, who were brawling nearby, also paused and turned to look at Lucy, their faces mirroring her surprise. In unison, they exclaimed, "Lucy?!"
Taken aback by their reaction, Lucy stammered, "Wh-What... Do you all know me?"
"No, we didn't know you before, but... well, the situation is a bit complicated to explain, but we know of you, and it seems you're destined to become one of us."
Mira's face lit up with a smile.
Before Lucy could process this unexpected turn of events, the rest of the guild members had heard the commotion and one by one, they turned to look at her.
"Lucy?"
"Lu...cy!"
Even Lisanna, Wendy, and the others joined in, their eyes fixed on her.
Under the intense gaze of the guild members, Lucy's forehead glistened with a thin layer of sweat, and she felt a bit flustered, unsure how to handle the situation. She took a small step back and asked, "I-Is something wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong. Welcome to Fairy Tail, would you like to be my friend?"
Gray stood up and created an ice flower with his magic, offering it to Lucy with a smile.
Lucy's eyes widened in surprise, and she couldn't help but exclaim, "That's too forward! And can you please put some clothes on?! You exhibitionist!"
"Don't scare off our future companion."
Natsu threw a punch at Gray.
The ice flower in Gray's hand shattered, and he glared at Natsu irritably. "What's it to you, idiot fire-breather?!"
"What did you call me, perverted exhibitionist?! We haven't settled our score yet!"
Natsu gritted his teeth and glared back at Gray, then lunged at him with a fist. The two friends resumed their chaotic brawl, causing the entire guild to descend into chaos once more.
Elfman and the others, caught in the crossfire, joined the fray as well.
In an instant,
The entire guild was in an uproar, with chairs and tables flying everywhere, and glass shattering.
"Waaahhh..."
Lucy was shocked by the scene unfolding before her, and she turned to Mira, unable to hide her fright. "Sh-Shouldn't someone stop them?"
Mira flashed a gentle smile and replied, "It's the usual chaos. Don't worry, someone will clean up this mess soon enough."
Swoosh!!
Just as Mira finished speaking, a bottle that had been knocked into the air during the scuffle came hurtling down, aiming straight for her head.
But just as the bottle was about to hit its mark, a hand reached out and caught it mid-air with precision.
Mira blinked, then smiled as she recognized the person who had caught the bottle. "Feng Ye! You're here!"
"If I didn't come soon, the guild would've been torn down again," Feng Ye said with a light smile. "Besides, we have a new member today, and this kind of welcome is just embarrassing."
Mira's words froze Lucy in her tracks, and she slowly, cautiously turned to look at Feng Ye standing beside her.
It was him!
The mage who had saved her mother, Layla! And he was also the most famous mage in Fairy Tail, consistently ranking first in Sorcerer Magazine's 'Mage You'd Most Want as a Boyfriend' polls!
"It's been a while," Feng Ye said, setting the bottle down and glancing at the golden-haired girl, Lucy, before offering her a casual smile. "I'll take care of this first."
Lucy's mouth hung open, and she clasped her hands in front of her chest, a touch of emotion shining in her eyes. Her heart fluttered at the realization.
Feng Ye still remembered her!
