Chapter 723: That Man Has Become Even More Terrifying!
Asia closely observed everyone's facial expressions throughout the process, mentally noting them down. Then, she walked over to the Redwood Table and turned the oil lamp placed on it.
The wall trembled and split open, revealing a narrow gap. A large number of stone bricks rapidly sank into the ground, and a narrow passage soon appeared before everyone.
"Since you've all seen that note, come on in!" Asia turned and said to the Wizards, then led the way into the passage.
On the way to the Meeting Room, Asia took the opportunity to explain the principles and precautions of the Fidelius Charm to the Wizards who were still in the dark, to avoid any unnecessary misunderstandings.
"Such a magical spell exists? No wonder I don't remember ever coming here before…" Grace exclaimed after listening to Asia's explanation.
Most of the Wizards present were hearing about the Fidelius Charm for the first time and were amazed, discussing the spell's wonders among themselves.
Evers, Rochelle, and a few others, however, did not join the discussion. They felt a sense of superiority, having already recognized it as the Fidelius Charm. Such a high-level spell was known only to them, the exceptionally learned Pureblood Wizards.
When Asia pushed open the door to the Meeting Room, the noisy chatter ceased instantly.
A faint pressure began to spread throughout the Meeting Room…
Each Wizard who entered felt as if they were being watched by a fierce and brutal Dragon. Their minds were filled with warnings, urging their bodies to flee as quickly as possible.
Yet, no one dared to turn back. Instead, they entered in an orderly manner, like the most docile sheep, forming a long queue.
The Meeting Room was dimly lit, with only a Magic Lamp hanging from the ceiling providing light, which was limited to the area around the Conference Table.
Ivan Hals was seated at the head of the table, his face partially obscured by shadows, making it impossible to discern his expression. The pressure that permeated the Meeting Room emanated from him.
He has become even more terrifying! Upon seeing Ivan, everyone couldn't help but think this.
Evers's face showed a hint of regret. In his memory, even the most powerful Dark Lords had never exuded such overwhelming authority. He began to doubt whether he had made the right choice this time…
The remaining Wizards also entered with trepidation, hesitant to approach the Conference Table. The short distance from the door to the table, no more than three meters, took them ten seconds to cover.
Even when they reached the Conference Table, no one dared to sit down immediately. There were only forty-five chairs placed around the table, and there were fifty of them!
Who should stand? Who would be allowed to sit?
Intimidated by Ivan's presence, no one dared to ask, and they all looked to Asia for an answer.
However, Asia remained silent, her lips pressed together. This situation was unexpected for her as well; Ivan had not discussed it with her beforehand, so she was in the dark.
As Asia remained silent, the atmosphere in the room grew increasingly tense. The Meeting Room, which held fifty-one people, was eerily quiet, with only the sound of their deliberately suppressed breathing breaking the silence.
Some were puzzled, while others were filled with overwhelming fear.
Evers was one of them, his mind brimming with anxiety and panic. Fine beads of sweat trickled down his forehead, and his robe was drenched with perspiration.
Evers was well aware of what the forty-five seats represented. It meant that Ivan Hals believed five of them did not deserve a seat here, or perhaps did not even deserve to live!
Unfortunately, he might be one of those five!
However, fleeing now was clearly too late. Evers could only grip his wand tightly, hiding among the crowd with a glimmer of hope, trying his best not to draw attention.
"Long time no see, everyone!"
Amid the silence, Ivan finally spoke. His deep, dark eyes scanned the room, looking at each person present. After a moment, he nodded and continued.
"Very good, no one is absent this time. I had thought some of you might be too afraid to attend this gathering... so I didn't prepare seats for them."
After his words, Ivan clearly sensed the emotions of some Wizards becoming even more intense.
Although none of the Wizards present dared to meet his gaze, Ivan first used his Dragon Aura to intimidate them and then played up the mystique. His goal was to break through their mental defenses and amplify their emotions.
It seemed to be working well. Even with his eyes closed, Ivan could clearly perceive the emotions of tension, fear, and regret seeping from some of their minds.
"Lord Hals, is there something important you need to tell us?" After about half a minute of silence, Walker couldn't help but ask, unable to bear the oppressive atmosphere.
"Indeed, there is something important." Ivan nodded, then changed his tone. "But before that, I need to announce some news!"
"Fifteen years ago, the Dark Lord Voldemort, whom everyone in the Wizarding World feared to even mention, has returned!"
Perhaps because the news was so shocking, the previously quiet Meeting Room immediately became noisy.
"Lord Hals, are you sure that's true? But the Dark Lord should have died over a decade ago, at the hands of Harry Potter..." Joseph asked, his voice trembling.
"He never died, Joseph, not once!" Ivan explained with a gentle tone.
"That coward fears death more than any of us, so he used some Dark Magic to ensure he could survive even in a situation where death was certain!"
At this, everyone present felt a chill run down their spines. They found it hard to imagine what kind of Dark Magic could be powerful enough to evade death...
Ivan saw the thoughts of the crowd clearly and sneered. "Believe me, no one can easily evade death, not even the Dark Lord. If you saw him as he is now, you wouldn't fear him so deeply!"
"Over the years, I have had a few encounters with Voldemort. Back then, the Dark Lord had lost his power and looked like a pitiful, lonely wraith. His casting ability was even inferior to that of a noisy Goblin..."
