Chapter 723: Open Scheme
Chapter 723: Open Scheme
After noticing the flash in the room, Liam curiously approached it. Upon inspection, he confirmed that the flash was actually a simple message Magic. All it needed was a touch of magic power to reveal its contents.
Injecting a bit of Magic, the flash immediately emitted a sharp and deranged female voice, one that Ryan and the others recognized well: "Mudblood, we are waiting for you right here. If you come, you can stop our operation and save these three ladies of the Greengrass Family. Let's see how brave you are."
After these words, a deep male voice stated a location in southern England and a time, followed by the same woman's maniacal laughter.
"Damn! It's Bellatrix", Hermione whispered, frowning. "But Bellatrix is a known lunatic among the Purebloods. Why would Mr. Greengrass bring his whole family to meet her?"
"I suspect Bellatrix used Polyjuice Potion to disguise herself as someone else", Liam explained. "Purebloods often socialize, and Bellatrix and her accomplices likely obtained some hair from a Pureblood Wizard who is friendly with the Greengrass Family, using it to assume their identities."
"We have two and a half hours left", Liam said, waving his wand. A series of numbers representing the current time appeared in the air. "That's enough time to secretly move our Aerial Fortress to the vicinity of that location."
"Really?" Hermione asked, somewhat surprised. After all, Liam had been primarily responsible for the traps in the Aerial Fortress, so she wasn't entirely familiar with the entire Sky City.
"Absolutely no problem. Our flying Fortress can travel at a stealth speed of 65 km per hour, and it's currently near Oxford. If everything goes smoothly, it should reach the location in just two hours", Liam explained quietly.
"Didn't you plan to use the Aerial Fortress to deal a fatal blow to the Dark Lord? Why are you changing your mind now?" Hermione asked after hearing Liam's words. "Aren't you going to keep it hidden?"
"Of course, hiding it would be ideal", Liam said. "But given this sudden situation, I think it's safer to bring the Aerial Fortress along. Of course, I've also prepared many weapons in our Dimensional Bags. We might not need to use the Aerial Fortress as our final trump card to resolve everything."
"I hope everything goes that smoothly", Hermione shrugged. "But I think the upcoming battle will be very tough. After all, this is a trap designed specifically for us, and I'm worried they'll have made targeted preparations."
"Don't worry. As long as we do everything we can, the rest is up to fate", Liam said. He then conjured a large and a small coffin, placed the two bodies inside, and used his wand to command them to float out the door, with Hermione closely following behind.
Once outside, Liam dug two deep pits in the grass near the door, placed the coffins inside, and restored everything to its original state. He then stood in silence for a few seconds, paying his respects to this makeshift grave. Although his relationship with the Greengrass Family had been purely based on mutual benefit, he felt responsible for their deaths and believed these actions were necessary.
After the moment of silence, Liam continued, "Based on the previous battles, I believe the Dark Lord has a good idea of our magic levels. Therefore, the ambush at that location will either be a group of elite Death Eaters or the Dark Lord himself. If we can win this, our cleansing plan will be nearly complete, and the war will be over."
"You're right", Hermione agreed as they walked out of the Manor. After a moment of thought, she added, "The Americans have stopped supporting the Dark Lord due to our sabotage, which has forced many Pureblood Families to invest their resources into the war. If we can deplete enough of the Pureblood Families' manpower, I think the war will come to an end."
Ryan and the others' previous actions gave the Death Eaters the impression that their primary goal was to protect Muggles. So this time, they set a trap that would leave Ryan and the others with no choice but to walk right into it. However, in the current situation, it wasn't clear who would be the hunter and who would be the prey.
"Let's head back to the Aerial Fortress", Liam said as they left the Manor. He then pulled Hermione and Apparated back to the Aerial Fortress. When the two of them stepped into the control room, they saw a small figure floating near the Flight Stone Core, operating something. Several images were projected around her, showing the surroundings, various data points of the Aerial Fortress, and a map of the British Isles.
"Thank you, Little Rose", Liam greeted Rose Crystal, who was busy working. Doll, upon hearing Liam's words, gently jumped down from the air, and the surrounding images disappeared.
"Welcome back, Big Brother", Rose Crystal said with a smile. "I wasn't really working hard. Such simple movements don't require manual operation; the Tower Spirit of the Magic Tower Core can handle such tasks easily. I was just a bit curious."
After that, the three of them left the control room on the lower level of the Aerial Fortress and used the internal teleportation ritual array to reach the Magic Tower. As they opened the guest room door, the sound of a little girl's chatter filled the room.
"Good evening, Liam", the silver-haired, black-winged Puppet greeted, waving her hand. "This castle in the sky is truly magnificent, but Father Rogen doesn't think creating such a thing is worthwhile."
"Professor Rogen is right, Mercury Lamp", Liam said as he sat down at the table. "The purpose of building this castle is for war, a brutal war. Fortunately, in your worlds, you don't have to face such things, so you don't need to expend so many resources to build such a structure."
"Alright, alright", Rose Crystal flapped her small wings. "My father says the same thing, but didn't you notice how beautiful this Sky City is, like a castle from a fairy tale?"
"Thank you, Crimson", Crimson said, holding a teapot that was enormous for her as she poured black tea into Liam and Hermione's cups. Ryan and the others took their cups and nodded in thanks. Then Liam looked at Rose Crystal. "I apologize, I really haven't noticed these things. We were only focused on the magical functions of the Aerial Fortress."
"But this castle is so beautiful—"
Before Mercury Lamp could finish, Rose Crystal flew to her side and said, "That's because Big Brother hired a group of Elves for the design. He didn't handle it himself."
"I see!" Mercury Lamp nodded. "But if I want to come play, you can't refuse me."
"Of course not, the door will always be open to you", Liam smiled and said to Mercury Lamp, then looked at the others. "I assume Rose Crystal has already explained why I invited you here?"
"Of course, we know the battle ahead will be brutal", Canary, the leader of Teacher Luo Zhen's daughters, stepped forward and said. "But I believe with our skills and preparation, we can win."
"That's the spirit", Liam said, his face lighting up at the energetic Miniature Dolls. "No matter what schemes the enemy concocts, the final victors will be us."
