Chapter 721: Never Again...
Chapter 721: Never Again...
Inside the Vip Area, Tezoro and his entourage entered a grand Banquet Hall. He plopped down onto the sofa at the head of the table. His gloomy expression silenced everyone in the room, leaving his subordinates too terrified to speak.
A purple-haired woman brought a glass and wine, carefully pouring it for him. After filling the glass, she sat beside Tezoro, her expression calm and unsmiling.
"Carina", Tezoro swirled the wine in his glass, his voice deep. "What will those people do next?"
Carina hesitated before replying, "Tezoroofficer, they affirmed they won't easily give up. We must prepare thoroughly for any countermeasures."
A low chuckle escaped Tezoro's lips. "Yes, they won't give up. They'll affirm they'll find other ways, but they can't do anything to me. After all, I still have an ace up my sleeve!"
His words made Bartolo beside him smirk slightly. "Indeed, Tezoroofficer. They cannot threaten you."
"Hahahaha, Tezoroofficer!" One of his subordinates stepped forward holding a wine glass, flattering with a grin. "Here, you're like a world noble—untouchable!"
Tezoro's smirk deepened. He pushed his sunglasses onto his hair, revealing two sharp, sinister eyes fixed on the subordinate in white. Slowly, he asked, "Did I allow you to laugh recklessly in my presence?"
The subordinate's face paled. Stammering, he pleaded, "T-T-Teszoroofficer..."
"Who gave you permission?"
Tezoro spread his fingers and pulled out a Golden Ring.
"Tezoroofficer!" The subordinate seemed to understand. His face turned deathly white as he tried to retreat backward. "Tezoroofficer, I'm sorry! I just—I just—"
Tezoro revealed a malevolent grin. When he released the ring, it dropped and rolled toward the subordinate like a serpent.
"Aaaaah!"
The subordinate turned and fled in terror.
At that moment, the Golden Ring melted into liquid, snaking forward to bind the subordinate's body, slamming him to the ground.
Watching his struggling, screaming subordinate, Tezoro's grin widened. "Remember this: don't laugh until I permit it."
"Yes! Yes, Tezoroofficer!" The subordinate nodded frantically.
Tezoro nodded as if ready to let go, the subordinate's eyes widening with hope as he relaxed slightly.
Boom!
The golden chandelier overhead suddenly melted into liquid, raining down to engulf the subordinate entirely, encasing him in a golden statue.
"Hahahaha! How ridiculous!" Tezoro roared with laughter. "That moment when hope turns to despair—the expression on your face—it's the most spectacular performance! Nothing compares to this!"
A vision of a golden-haired woman with gentle, healing smile flashed through his mind.
Tezoro's expression froze. Lowering his head, he murmured, "Yes... never again."
The terrifying scene left the hall trembling with fear.
Tezoro raised his hand, waving dismissively. "All of you, leave."
His subordinates scattered instantly, none daring to linger or flatter further.
The previous example still fresh in their minds.
"Carina, handle the outside." Tezoro ordered the purple-haired woman.
"Understood." She nodded, rising to exit.
Now only Tezoro, Bartolo, and Tanaka remained in the hall.
But soon, footsteps echoed.
"Hey, those Navy guys—can I kill them?"
The long-chinned figure approached, his tone playful. "That Golden Lion especially interests me. He's gained quite a reputation recently. Killing him would damage the Navy's prestige."
"That sword's mine." Another voice chimed in from the side. A lean, tall shadowy figure resembling a ninja stood with arms crossed, feet together with only his toes touching the ground.
Blades lined his waist and back. "Both Golden Lion and Momousagi's swords are among the Twenty-one Great Quick Blades—Autumn Water and Golden Quetzal. I want them." He said flatly. "Their lives belong to me too."
Suddenly, a figure sat beside Tezoro, taking a glass from the table to pour his own wine.
"It's not that easy", he chuckled.
Bartolo stared in shock at the man who appeared beside Tezoro. "When did you..."
The one pouring his own wine was an elderly man, his hair silver, skin and flesh sagging, yet his eyes sharp with vitality.
Dressed impeccably in a black tailcoat, he drank with refined ease, every inch a nobleman.
Tezoro's expression darkened. "Apu, didn't I say to report when arriving? Also, rein in your ability. I took you in not to let you cause chaos."
Sig, the long-chinned man, shrugged with a grin. "Understood. Forming a new Pirate Alliance—your financial resources combined with our strength makes it easy. But first, we must announce our presence to the world."
"Apu, the one pouring his own drink, remarked calmly. "Smiths seem to have failed. That Golden Lion isn't just famous—he's genuinely strong. His failure will alert Headquarters. G-3 is no longer suitable. We must act now."
Leaning back, he addressed the pillar behind him, "What do you think?"
Leaning against a pillar stood a muscular man in short, practical clothing, arms crossed, silent.
"Silent in prison, still silent out here", Apu shook his head. "Lighten up, Giruon! We're free now!"
The man remained silent, arms crossed.
Apu shrugged, placing his glass on the table and standing before Tezoro.
"So then", Tezoro's lips curved into a smile. "I leave it to you."
"No problem", Sig grinned maliciously. "Of course, within your territory, you must handle the explanation."
Tezoro spoke slowly, "In this city, the deceived are the losers."
Sig's grin widened. Apu shook his head. The ninja-covered man's eyes narrowed. Behind them, the pillar-leaning man's arm bulged with a blue vein as his eyes gradually turned crimson.
"Hahahaha!"
Tezoro laughed aloud, spreading his arms wide as if to grasp everything before him. "Go ahead without worrying about the consequences. For the strength of money can even make the World Government bow!"
