Chapter 711: Confining You for a Month
Chapter 711: Confining You for a Month
"Lisanna... Lisanna..."
Mira finally managed to stand up, her gaze falling on the direction where Lisanna had been knocked back. She took a stumbling step forward, struggling to make her way over.
Supporting her sore body, she didn't know how far she had walked when she finally spotted Lisanna lying on the ground. She bit her lip and rushed over.
"Lisanna!"
"Mira... sister... where are you..."
Lisanna turned her head towards Mira and said with some difficulty, "It's good that you're okay, sister. How's Elfman?"
Mira looked at Lisanna's state and bit her lip. "Elfman is fine. He's regained his form. How are you, Lisanna...?"
"I should... be fine..."
Lisanna smiled, "When I was knocked back just now, I felt a power that didn't belong to me helping me withstand the attack. That magic feels familiar. If I'm not mistaken, it should be from Feng Ye."
Mira paused, scanning the surroundings but not spotting Feng Ye. "Is it really Feng Ye?"
Lisanna shook her head at Mira's reaction. "Feng Ye isn't here... It should be some magic he left in my body before."
"Feng Ye's magic is very powerful. I remember him saying that because Wendy and I are weak and prone to danger, he left a special magic in our bodies to protect us in critical moments."
Hearing Lisanna's words, Mira's tense expression softened slightly, and she breathed a small sigh of relief. "I see... that's good."
Lisanna nodded, but then her face took on a slightly strained look again. "But something feels off about my condition. My body seems fine, but I feel like..."
As her words trailed off, Lisanna's body began to gradually turn ethereal.
"W-What's happening!?"
Mira was taken aback, then shocked as she watched this unfold. "Is it the influence of the Beast King's magic? No... no, Lisanna..."
As Lisanna's body became more and more insubstantial and drifted towards the sky, Mira's face reflected her inability to accept what was happening. Fear flashed in her eyes, and she reached out to tightly embrace Lisanna.
This was clearly a scene of death!
"Huh?"
Lisanna, seeing her own state, also looked a little confused. "Couldn't Feng Ye's magic protect me?"
After a moment of confusion and bewilderment, she realized that she might be about to die. A mix of loss and sadness flashed through her mind, but seeing Mira's distress, she forcibly suppressed her emotions and tried to smile. "Sister Mira... I... I've always liked you the most... If only you could be a little gentler, I'm sure you would get along better with everyone..."
With that, her figure completely faded and disappeared.
"No... No!!! Lisanna!!!
Mira felt the person in her arms gradually disappearing, eventually dissipating completely into the air. She couldn't accept it and cried out, tears streaming down her face uncontrollably.
At that moment, she was filled with regret.
It was her fault.
It was her own fault for being too confident and arrogant, for rushing into the battle against the Beast King unprepared. Not only had she failed to win, but she had also put her younger siblings in danger.
The calmness in the voice momentarily halted Mira's sobs.
She slowly lifted her head and saw a familiar figure standing before her, his gaze level and unreadable.
Feng Ye stood there, observing the vulnerable Mira with detachment. "Venturing into danger with those important to you without possessing the strength to protect them—this is the price you pay for your recklessness, Mira."
"Feng Ye..."
Mira's usual haughtiness was nowhere to be seen; only vulnerability remained as she pleaded, her voice cracking, "Save Lisanna... please, save her..."
Feng Ye's magical prowess must be able to save Lisanna, she thought desperately, clinging to this last shred of hope.
Feng Ye remained silent, his gaze unwavering.
Just as Mira felt the last flicker of hope fade from her heart, Feng Ye finally spoke, his tone uninflected. "Lisanna is still alive. But you must reflect on your actions after this incident."
"On behalf of the guild master, I am here to punish you for your rash behavior that endangered Lisanna. You are confined to your room for a month. You are not to leave during this period."
Feng Ye's words jolted the distraught Mira back to attention, and hope flickered in her eyes once more. "Is Lisanna really alive?"
"She was pulled into a different spatial dimension. I'm going to find her now."
Feng Ye's tone was indifferent as he asked, "Do you remember what I said earlier?"
Lisanna's survival was all that mattered to Mira at that moment. She struggled to her feet and nodded. "I understand. It was my fault... Please, go and save Lisanna..."
Feng Ye gave Mira a fleeting glance before looking up at the sky.
Mira and Lisanna had failed to notice it earlier, but there was a glowing sphere in the sky, and at its center, suspended between the cracks of space and worlds, was a massive magic circle.
It was a super-spatial magic from one of the parallel worlds—Edolas—called Anima, which meant 'soul' in their language.
Its purpose was to absorb and devour humans or other beings with magical power from this world and transport them to Edolas.
Lisanna had just been taken by this magic.
Feng Ye had witnessed the entire process but had chosen not to intervene, wanting Mira to fully grasp the consequences of her careless actions.
With a swift motion, Feng Ye stepped forward and pointed. The spatial magic array rippled and parted at his command.
He effortlessly opened a passage between the two worlds and, with one graceful step, disappeared from Mira's sight, following Lisanna's trail to the parallel world of Edoras.
