Chapter 710: He's Back!
Chapter 710: He's Back!
Unicorn Shadow arrived in an instant, its gleaming hooves stamping down on Voldemort!
Voldemort's chest visibly caved in, his body flying backward as if struck by a raging bull, tumbling and crashing into the trees behind him...
Dumbledore, of course, wouldn't miss this golden opportunity. With a shake of his left hand, the Elder Wand caused the scattered golden-red flames to rise swiftly, forming a massive flame whip that lashed out viciously!
Before Voldemort could even hit the ground, the "Whip" had already caught up and struck him again.
The golden-red flames clung to his body like leeches, bursting into a fierce conflagration, and a piercing scream soon echoed through the forest...
"Confringo! (Exploding Spell)"
"Avada Kedavra! (Avada Kedavra)"
Ivan and Sirius Black showed no sympathy and continued to attack the fallen enemy, casting spells one after another, targeting Voldemort!
However, before their magic could reach him, Voldemort had already vanished, the two spells striking the tree behind him instead. The intense firelight blasted the innocent, ancient tree into pieces.
Countless fiery fragments of wood fell from the sky, and Dumbledore gently waved his wand, summoning a strong gust of wind to sweep them aside.
Sirius Black remained tense, on guard for a while, but when no attack from Voldemort came, he relaxed slightly and turned to Dumbledore, asking, "Did the Dark Lord escape?"
Dumbledore nodded, gazing at the severely damaged forest, and said gravely, "This injury will likely keep Tom quiet for a while!"
Ivan understood Dumbledore's implication and felt a bit helpless. It meant that Voldemort had not been critically injured and would recover and be as active as ever after some rest.
Once Sirius Black confirmed their safety, he rushed to Harry's side, helping him up and asking with concern, "Harry, are you alright? Is the scar still hurting?"
"It's... better..." Harry struggled to stand, touching the lightning-shaped scar on his forehead, muttering to himself.
Since Voldemort's departure, the scar had stopped hurting, but Harry couldn't understand why he had suddenly felt that way.
Regaining his composure, Harry looked anxiously at Dumbledore and asked, "Professor Dumbledore, what exactly happened? Why did I...?"
"Clearly, this was Tom's magic", Dumbledore interrupted Harry, then carefully added, "Harry, on the night you were born, you deflected Voldemort's Killing Curse, stripping him of his power and reducing him to a mere Soul Wraith. Perhaps at that moment, a special connection was formed between you, allowing Voldemort to influence you through certain means..."
Dumbledore's explanation was somewhat vague, leaving Harry confused, but he at least understood one thing: he could see Voldemort's actions in his dreams, and in turn, Voldemort could influence him in some way.
Ivan knew more, but he didn't intend to speak up. Revealing the truth to Harry now would be no different from telling Voldemort directly...
As they were talking, a faint spatial fluctuation was detected from the left. Harry and Sirius Black, already on edge, instinctively raised their wands, but quickly lowered them.
Because this time, the Apparition brought Mcgonagall, Arthur, and Mad-Eye Moody, along with Ron and Hermione, who were clearly brought along as well.
Upon arrival, they were met with a grim post-battle scene. The woods around them were still ablaze with raging fires, and the grass was pockmarked with craters from spells. The only thing that brought them some relief was that Ivan, Harry, and Sirius Black were all standing there, unharmed.
"Harry, Ivan, are you both alright?" Ron immediately noticed something was off with Harry and rushed over.
Hermione, even more agitated, ran up and gave Ivan a quick hug.
Ivan, who was already feeling weak, nearly stumbled and fell. He managed to steady himself after taking a couple of steps back, avoiding an embarrassing scene.
The young witches quickly noticed Ivan's pale face and released him, concerned. "Are you hurt, Ivan?"
"No, I'm fine. I'm just a bit tired", Ivan shook his head. The intense battles had taken a toll on him, especially since his magic was almost depleted.
Hermione scrutinized him for a while, only relaxing slightly when she saw no signs of damage on his clothes.
Feeling uncomfortable under Hermione's intense gaze, Ivan changed the subject and asked about what had happened at Hogwarts after he left.
The young witches didn't hold back, quickly recounting the events in rapid succession.
Shortly after Ivan's departure, Asia and Molly, along with a group of Aurors, managed to deal with the Blast-Ended Skrewts and Giant Spiders that had escaped from the Maze.
She and Ron had followed Ivan's instructions to search for Snape and Professor Flitwick in the castle.
However, they ran into several professors who had come out to investigate the disturbance.
After a lot of explanation, Snape decided to stay in the castle to maintain order, while Flitwick led them to a nearby Muggle village where they found Dumbledore.
"I told Professor Dumbledore about Harry taking Sirius Black. We all speculated that Sirius Black might have been under the Imperius Curse or someone had used Polyjuice Potion to impersonate him... In any case, we were all very worried, but we couldn't find you anywhere..." Hermione said, still shaken by the events.
They then saw the flames rising from this area, and Dumbledore, suspecting it was caused by magic, sent Fawkes to investigate.
While Hermione was still explaining, the members of the Order of the Phoenix approached. Mad-Eye Moody, at the front, looked at the battle scars around them and then at Dumbledore, his expression grave.
"Albus, we all saw the Dark Mark in the sky! Did you face him?"
"You're right, Alastor. I have met Tom. He has regained his strength and has a new body", Dumbledore nodded.
Although they had suspected it, the confirmation from Dumbledore sent a deep chill up the spines of Mad-Eye Moody and the others.
The Voldemort who had terrified the Wizarding World for over a decade, the one no one dared to name, had truly returned...
