Chapter 710: Hades' Turmoil (First Update)
Chapter 710: Hades' Turmoil (First Update)
"Yes, I can prove that Zeref cannot be killed!"
Mavis raised her hand again.
Jellal, looking at the little girl Mavis, narrowed his eyes and revealed an angry expression.
"You're playing me!"
He didn't believe for a moment that the First Guild Master of Fairy Tail was still alive, let alone that this little girl, who had no magic power, could be the First Guild Master.
So he thought this was just a trick to deceive him.
However, what he didn't know was that everything Jerry said was true. The reason he couldn't sense the powerful magic power inside Mavis was because Jerry had cast a powerful shielding spell on her.
"Since you don't believe us, it doesn't matter. We won't play your Paradise Game. I think we should leave now and come back after this place is reduced to rubble by the Mystic Spirits Force to collect your remains."
Jerry waved his hand and, surprisingly, led all the magic wizards back onto the large wooden ship, intending to leave the area.
"What should we do now? Attack them?"
Banshu slowly drew the katana from her waist, ready to attack.
But Jellal raised his hand to stop her.
"No, with Jerry there, they are determined to leave, and we can't stop them. We need to find a way to make them stay and fight, and then either kill Jerry or use the opportunity to kidnap Erza for the sacrifice."
"To be honest, the Mystic Spirits Force can't destroy the Paradise Tower. It only provides the magic power needed to resurrect Zeref. Exposing the Paradise Tower to the Magic Council is all part of my plan!"
Jellal didn't believe a word of what they said. He just thought Jerry and the others were leaving to avoid dying in the Mystic Spirits Force's attack, so he decided to self-destruct to lure them back.
Unfortunately, his only response was Jerry's dismissive wave.
"Suit yourself!"
At the Magic Council, in front of the activation device for the Mystic Spirits Force, Urteil was discussing the next plan with Jellal's astral form.
"Lord Jellal, after the Mystic Spirits Force is launched, I will use Time Magic to make the Magic Council disappear. You won't have to worry about anything."
"Using such powerful Time Magic might cost you your life."
Jellal looked at the Mystic Spirits Force launch device being activated by numerous Magic Council wizards and showed a hint of concern.
Urteil, standing before him, was another councilor he had brainwashed while posing as Zeklein and infiltrating the Magic Council, now a loyal follower who served only him.
"For Lord Jellal and Lord Zeref, I don't care about death!"
Urteil's face was filled with reverence.
"After so many years of manipulation, we've finally reached this point!"
Looking at the puppet she had controlled for eight years, Urteil felt a sense of satisfaction.
Back when Jellal was being tortured and felt the presence of Zeref, it was actually Urteil using Control Magic to forcibly twist his mind. Everything that happened to Jellal afterward was orchestrated by her, or rather, by the Demon Heart Guild Master.
The Demon Heart and the dark magic wizards who built the R System were from the same faction. If not for Jellal's powerful magic talent, she would have killed him long ago.
Jellal thought he had brainwashed her, but in reality, his life had been carefully planned by them.
"Lord Jellal, what's wrong?"
Urteil's expression changed dramatically when she saw Jellal, who had looked so confident just moments ago. A sense of foreboding suddenly filled her heart.
Could something have gone wrong at Paradise Tower?
"Most of the Magic Wizards from Fairy Tail have arrived, led by a Magic named Jerry. Among them is a child who claims to be the First Guild Master, Mavis, saying that Zeref is not dead and is ruling as an emperor in the West Continent."
Jellal's brow furrowed, as if he was considering a strategy.
Urteil was also stunned by the news.
She, of course, knew that Zeref was not dead, as their Guild Master had once been Zeref's disciple. The entire series of events orchestrated by Jellal was not truly to resurrect Zeref, but to disrupt the Magic Council. Once the Mystic Spirits Force was released, it would take years to gather enough Magic Power to release it again.
Without the threat of the Mystic Spirits Force and the Magic Council, they could focus on eliminating Fairy Tail, the strongest guild on the continent, and find the real Zeref to usher in the Great Dark Magic Era once more.
What truly surprised her was not that Zeref was alive, but that the First Guild Master of Fairy Tail was still alive and had appeared at Paradise Tower, knowing Zeref's exact location.
Although she couldn't verify the information, she felt it was important to report it to the Guild Master, Hades.
"The Mystic Spirits Force is about to be launched. I will prepare the Magic to destroy the Magic Council."
Urteil bid farewell to Jellal, who was still frowning and thinking, and found a secluded place to contact Hades using a crystal ball.
"What? You're saying the First Guild Master of Fairy Tail has appeared, and she's a little girl!"
When Urteil finished her report, Hades's emotions exploded.
"Yes, that's the current situation, but I believe it might not be true."
Having followed Hades for so long, she had never seen him lose his composure like this, which shocked her.
Hades's next words made her realize the true importance of Mavis in Hades's heart.
"Once the Magic Council is dealt with, return to the guild immediately. I will personally verify the truth."
"But, Guild Master, this—"
Urteil hesitated at Hades's sudden decision. They had been hiding in the shadows for years, unknown even to the councilors, to catch Zeref off guard at the last moment. Now, Hades was willing to disrupt their long-planned strategy and reveal themselves just because of a rumor about Mavis's resurrection, without even verifying its truth.
"Are you saying you don't understand me?"
Hades was clearly not in his right mind and did not give Urteil a chance to speak, his tone growing harsh.
Urteil, seeing his reaction, dared not say another word and replied respectfully:
"Yes, Guild Master, I understand!"
It was a hasty decision, but as long as the Mystic Spirits Force was launched successfully and the Magic Council was destroyed, even if they were completely exposed, with the strength of Guild Master Hades and the Seven Demons of Purgatory, it might still be feasible.
With this thought in mind, Urteil no longer hesitated and continued to follow the original plan.
