Chapter 71: Poppin and Primarin
Chapter 71: Poppin and Primarin
Making Pokeblock was not a difficult task.
Following Lily's instructions, Naoki first mixed the flour, eggs, and milk together. He then poured clear water into a pot and added two different Berries—the sweet-tasting Pecha and Cheri berries.
He heated the pot, and slowly, the clear water turned a delicate pink, emitting a sweet fragrance.
"Frostmilk will definitely love this," Naoki thought to himself.
When the mixture was ready, he poured in the batter he had prepared earlier, and then, with a utensil in hand, began to stir slowly and evenly.
Having spent a lot of time in the kitchen, Naoki had developed an innate sense of timing when it came to cooking.
Only when the batter was thoroughly mixed did he turn off the heat and pour it into a mold, placing it in the oven to bake.
Lily watched the entire process, a look of surprise in her eyes. "I didn't expect you to have such a talent for this!"
Naoki grinned. "It's probably a chef's intuition!"
"A chef? But I thought you were a ranch owner?"
"My profession is a ranch owner, but I also work as a part-time chef," Naoki said, turning to look at his Machoke. "I usually prepare all the food for the Pokemon on the ranch."
Hearing this, Lily exclaimed, "I see!"
She thought of the Pokemon that had accompanied Naoki at the Sakura Blossom Wine Party and couldn't help but admire, "You're amazing! Taking care of so many Pokemon all by yourself!"
Baking the Pokeblock took some time, and Naoki patiently waited with his Machoke.
During this time, some customers also came into the store to buy sweets.
Lily asked Naoki to keep an eye on the time while she attended to the guests.
On the eighth minute, Lily returned with a young girl by her side. This girl wore a brown beret and exuded an artistic vibe.
Noticing Naoki's gaze, Lily introduced them, "This is Mr. Naoki, the ranch owner from the nearby ranch. He's currently learning how to make Pokeblock from me."
"And this is Suiren," she continued. "Like you, she's also learning the art of Pokeblock making from me."
Suiren was bubbly and enthusiastic as she greeted Naoki. "Good morning, Ranch Owner!"
Naoki nodded. "And good morning to you, Suiren."
Following Lily, Suiren sat down at the table and took out a red and white Poke Ball from her bag.
With a flash of white light, a blue and white dolphin Pokemon appeared before them.
It floated in mid-air, identical in shape to a dolphin, but with a smaller build. A blue water ring encircled its tail fin, and its eyes were a unique combination of blue on top and pink below, giving it an adorable appearance.
The most striking feature, however, was the red heart on its white abdomen.
Naoki was surprised.
A Poppin? No, the presence of the heart indicated that this Poppin had evolved into a Primarin.
He wondered if its Ability was still Protean and if it could transform into its other Formes.
At that moment, Suiren spoke up in a lively voice, "Poppin, this is Mr. Naoki. Today, he'll be joining us as we learn how to make Pokeblock from Miss Lily!"
Hearing this, the floating Poppin turned its head and emitted a melodious call, seemingly greeting Naoki.
Naoki was astonished. "How is it floating like that?
Poppin? Shouldn't it be Dolphman?
Suiren continued, "When Poppin swam to save me, it really looked like the Dolphman from the stories!"
"Mr. Naoki is from another region, so he probably hasn't heard of the Dolphman legend from the Padia region, has he?" Lily asked.
Naoki blinked, knowing very well about the legend but feigning ignorance. "Dolphman?"
Suiren stroked the "Poppin" by her side and nodded. "It's a hero of the ocean! Whenever it hears a companion in distress, it will change its form, and no one will ever see it in that moment."
"The Pokemon legends of Padia record the heroic scenes of Dolphman rescuing people. They have incredible strength after transforming, able to lift a cruise ship with just one fin! It's a shame that no human trainer has ever captured a Dolphman, and they rarely appear before humans."
Naoki: "......"
So, you mistook Dolphman for Poppin, huh?
Naoki glanced at the Dolphman, choosing not to reveal its true identity.
Just then, a ding sounded, indicating that the Pokeblock was ready.
Naoki put on oven mitts and took out the freshly baked treat.
Immediately, a sweet aroma filled the entire room.
Everyone in the room, including the Pokemon, stared at the pink Pokeblock in the baking dish with surprised expressions.
"Wow! It smells so rich and fragrant!"
Naoki's mind was also filled with information about the Pokeblock.

Good friend? Significantly increases affinity with Pokemon...
Overall, the effect was quite good and would help him build better relationships with Pokemon.
However, he was a bit disappointed that he hadn't achieved the desired cooking effect.
"This will be perfect to take back and give Frostmilk as a nutritional supplement."
Naoki shared the Pokeblock with everyone in the room, including the Pokemon, while also taking a piece for himself.
The baked Pokeblock was soft and chewy, similar to a pancake, with a refreshing aroma of Berries. It perfectly blended the flavors of Pecha and Cheri Berries, resulting in a sweet taste that wasn't overwhelming.
"Wow! This is delicious!"
As the Pokeblock melted in her mouth, Suiren's eyes lit up.
Lily was initially surprised but soon wore an appreciative expression. "This is really good!"
The Machoke and Dolphman also looked joyful as they devoured the Pokeblock.
Seeing the eager look on the Machoke's face, Naoki chuckled. "Slow down, I can make more if it's not enough."
The Machoke let out a happy roar, "Gao~"
