Chapter 708: Grand Venerable Guangfa
Chapter 708: Grand Venerable Guangfa
Inside the cave heaven, Gu An and Xiao Lan sat on a cliff, chatting and enjoying the scenery.
"The Lord of the Dao Court truly has a grand vision, actually considering the dissolution of the Dao Court. However, the other high-ranking officials definitely won't agree."
Xiao Lan spoke of Yuan Songzi's decision, her face filled with admiration.
She wasn't saddened by the prospect of the Dao Court dissolving. She found Yuan Songzi's reasoning quite compelling. The Dao Court's problems were no longer something that could be solved by a few wars.
Xiao Lan looked at Gu An and asked curiously, "Brother Gu, with your cultivation, who do you think will be the next to unify the Under Heaven sects?"
Gu An swayed his wine gourd and smiled, "How could I possibly know? Even if I did, it would be a heavenly secret, and I must not reveal it."
Xiao Lan pouted. Over the years, the two had often sparred, and no matter how strong she became, she could never match Gu An. She always felt that Gu An was even stronger than Yuan Songzi.
Gu An's presence made her feel that the struggles of the great sects were all rather laughable.
The true great powers were hidden in the mortal world, observing the rise and fall of tides. If someone like Gu An were to take action, they could surely overturn the entire mortal world's landscape.
Thinking of this, Xiao Lan looked at Gu An with a gaze full of admiration.
Gu An wasn't particularly interested in Yuan Songzi's decision, as he had seen it coming long ago. He could even foresee the state of the mortal world after the Dao Court's dissolution.
"Have you gained any deeper insights into the Primordial Dao Emperor lately?" Gu An changed the subject.
An Xing was already very close to becoming a Primordial Dao Emperor. She would be the first Primordial Dao Emperor outside the Great Dao Path. Once she succeeded, the Primordial Crystal would spread to the Three Thousand Great Worlds, ushering the Primordial Emperor Path into a new era.
Xiao Lan's talent wasn't lacking, and with the accumulation from the Innate Cycle Technique, she had a high level of understanding of the path of reincarnation.
Xiao Lan nodded, "Yes, but I feel I still need to continue projecting."
Recalling the Reincarnation Projection, she felt it was truly incredible.
The cultivation method of the Primordial Dao Emperor was incredibly profound. Despite not personally experiencing reincarnation, she had memories of it, and those memories were not false.
She was now very curious about how powerful a true Primordial Dao Emperor could be.
She believed Gu An was a Primordial Dao Emperor, after all, it was Gu An who guided her on this path. However, she still didn't know how strong Gu An truly was, as the gap in their abilities was too vast.
She began discussing her cultivation dilemmas with Gu An.
Gu An stayed with her for three days before leaving.
After leaving the Dao Court, he first went to various places to gather medicinal herbs.
After Li Xuemiao left, the Mountain Deity Temple had fallen into disrepair. Gu An had already moved the herbs to the Wushi Dao Field, and to commemorate the place, he left a legacy there.
After picking the mature herbs outside the training ground, Gu An returned to the Wushi Dao Field, leisurely making his way to the mountain peak where he resided.
Everything was moving in a positive direction, and next, he looked forward to his own advancement.
Once he reached a lifespan of a hundred trillion years, he would break through.
What realm lay beyond the Dao Extreme Grand Luo Immortal?
He could invest part of his lifespan to probe the name of a higher realm, but he chose not to. Knowing just the name wouldn't mean much; it was better to keep it shrouded in mystery, making it more exciting for him.
As the sun set, casting a long, slanted shadow on Gu An's body.
...
In a magnificent golden hall, Dragon Slayer, also known as Heaven Destroyer, strode forward with a dragon-like gait. Clad in golden armor, he looked formidable, with dragon shadows swirling around him.
The grand hall was vast, with immortal mist covering the ground. Massive stone pillars stood tall, each adorned with different coiling dragons, all of which were living creatures. Some were fast asleep, while others stared intently at Heaven Destroyer.
He continued forward, reaching the white jade steps. The steps numbered a hundred, towering a hundred zhang high. At the top of the steps stood a colossal azure lotus throne, upon which a giant immortal sat.
Even seated, this immortal towered over a thousand zhang tall, dressed in a wide, dark Daoist robe. His hair was white, yet his face was exceptionally youthful, with a ruddy complexion. A jade hairpin adorned his head, its end blazing with fierce flames.
This immortal was the Supreme Xian of the Heavenly Court, known as the Venerable Guangfa Taiguang.
"Heaven Destroyer pays his respects to the Venerable!" Heaven Destroyer bowed and raised his hand in a respectful gesture, his tone full of reverence.
Venerable Guangfa Taiguang opened his eyes, and the entire hall became brighter. He gazed down at Heaven Destroyer and spoke slowly, "Your past is known to this venerable. You have contributed significantly to the Heavenly Court. This venerable will assist you in ascending to the rank of Star Lord. Before that, you will train in this venerable's training ground, striving to achieve the rank of Tai Qing Jin Xian."
"Thank you, Venerable!" Heaven Destroyer replied, his tone neither surprised nor overly excited.
"Subtle."
Venerable Guangfa Taiguang spoke, and as his words fell, a figure appeared in the hall, standing less than a hundred zhang away from Heaven Destroyer.
Heaven Destroyer glanced over, his eyes narrowing.
He could sense the other's Heavenly Dao Qi Yun. The immortal's rank was higher than his, yet their cultivation was only at the Xuan Yuan Zi Zai Xian stage.
Could such cultivation qualify one to become a Star Lord?
Heaven Destroyer did not underestimate the other. He knew that connections alone could not achieve such a rank. The other must have ascended through a superior path to immortality.
The figure who appeared was Li Xuemiao, who had passed the Heavenly Dao Immortal Stone trial!
Li Xuemiao wore a golden-threaded white robe and a peacock-silver crown, exuding an extraordinary and transcendent aura, as if he were a celestial being from a painting.
Though he lacked Heaven Destroyer's overwhelming presence, his immortal aura was still remarkable.
Li Xuemiao bowed to Venerable Guangfa Taiguang and said, "Master."
"He is this venerable's newly accepted disciple, hailing from the Inner Dust World. He passed the Heavenly Dao Immortal Stone trial and received Heaven's favor, ranking as a Star Lord. His cultivation is too low, so this venerable will not assign him any immortal duties until he reaches a higher realm. Heaven Destroyer, you are to be responsible for his training. This is your first task from this venerable. If you wish to descend to the mortal realm, you may do so, but not for more than a hundred immortal years at a time."
Venerable Guangfa Taiguang's voice echoed, and upon hearing this, Heaven Destroyer immediately accepted the task without refusal or further questions.
Venerable Guangfa Taiguang then closed his eyes.
Li Xuemiao gestured to Heaven Destroyer, indicating they should leave the hall together. Heaven Destroyer nodded, and the two turned and walked out.
As they exited the golden hall, they found themselves on a cloud above, where they could see distant palaces radiating golden light and a massive rainbow spanning the sky.
"Master has already informed me of your arrival and instructed me to prepare a training ground for you. Please follow me", Li Xuemiao said, looking at Heaven Destroyer.
Since his ascension, Li Xuemiao had encountered many immortals and accepted the hierarchical differences among them. As a Star Lord, he could command Celestial Deities, and even though Heaven Destroyer's cultivation was higher, he did not need to be overly courteous or bow.
"Thank you, Star Lord!" Heaven Destroyer said, bowing his fist in respect, showing no sign of displeasure.
Li Xuemiao began to lead the way. As they walked, he turned and asked, "Heaven Destroyer, I've heard about your mission to destroy worlds. Could you tell me about the duties of a Celestial Deity? I've only recently joined the Heavenly Court and wish to understand it better."
