Chapter 705: Feng Ye vs. Kildas
Chapter 705: Feng Ye vs. Kildas
In a detached villa, Elsa, donning a loose and thin garment, lay on a lounge chair in the courtyard, donning sunglasses as she soaked in the sun. It was a rare leisure day.
"Here's your drink, Elsa sister," Wendy said gently, entering the courtyard with two cups of beverages. With a sweet smile, she offered one to Elsa.
Elsa gracefully accepted the drink and replied, "Thank you."
Wendy's big eyes curved into adorable crescents as she said, "You're welcome."
At sixteen, Elsa had transformed from a little girl in Rosemary Village into a graceful and curvaceous young lady.
As for Wendy, now nine years old, she had grown taller, but that was the extent of her changes.
"Your skin is looking better and better, Elsa," Lisana said as she appeared behind Elsa, placing her hands on Elsa's shoulders and giggling.
Although Elsa and Mira remained incompatible, the playful and adorable Lisana got along well with everyone, including Elsa.
"I've been taking good care of my skin," Elsa replied with a smile.
As the strongest female in the Fairy Tail guild, she was still a girl at heart, paying attention to her appearance and skincare.
"Unlike Jubia here," she continued, "who doesn't need to."
Jubia, who had just finished watering the flowers in the garden, strode over, her eyebrows raised challengingly at Elsa.
The fourteen-year-old rain woman now saw Elsa as a romantic rival.
"After all, Jubia's body is made of water," Lisana giggled, reaching out to pinch Jubia's cheek.
After teasing Jubia, Lisana turned to Elsa, narrowing her eyes. "So, Elsa, what kind of boyfriend are you looking for?"
"Hmm, I haven't really thought about it," Elsa said, taking a sip of her icy fruit juice.
However, as she spoke, the image of Feng Ye flashed through her mind.
A hint of mirth flashed in Lisana's eyes, and she suddenly looked at Wendy beside her, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. "How about you, Wendy? What's your ideal boyfriend like?"
"Eh?" Wendy was caught off guard by the question, her face turning red as she stammered, "Th-That's... That's too far away for me to think about!"
Lisana chuckled and tilted her head back to gaze at the sky, a hint of longing in her eyes. "I hope he'll be sunny, mature, strong, and handsome."
Wendy tilted her head, deep in thought. "You're describing someone a lot like Feng Ye, aren't you?"
"Who's like me?" came Feng Ye's voice from not far away.
Startled, Wendy looked up to see Feng Ye entering the courtyard, his expression relaxed as he glanced over at them.
Her face reddened slightly, and she said, a bit embarrassed, "Elsa sister and Lisana sister were talking about their ideal boyfriends."
"Oh? And what about you, Wendy? What's your ideal type?" Feng Ye asked with a hint of teasing in his voice.
Steam rose from Wendy's head, her face reddening as she lowered her head, her hands fiddling with her skirt. "Wh-Why are you asking me...?"
"Because it's the most interesting when I ask you!" Lisana replied, unable to hold back her laughter as she reached out to ruffle Wendy's hair.
Even Elsa found Wendy's reaction adorable and couldn't help but smile.
"It's great not to have to work ourselves to the bone this year," Elsa said, sitting up in her lounge chair and stretching. With a smile, she suggested, "How about a game of mahjong?"
"Not available for play right now," Feng Ye replied with a casual smile. "Kildas will be here soon."
Jubia tilted her head slightly, a hint of surprise flashing across her face. "Kildas?"
"Mhm."
Feng Ye nodded, his eyes shifting to the direction of the guild as he smiled. "He's taken on a 100-year quest. Most likely, he'll want to challenge me before he departs."
Feng Ye's words startled Elsa, and she stood up abruptly, her eyes wide with shock. "A 100-year quest?!"
An ordinary mage might only know that a 100-year quest was the most difficult type of mission, but they wouldn't grasp the specifics of its challenges. However, as an S-class mage who had come into contact with and even completed several S-class quests, Elsa had a deeper understanding of the sheer difficulty of a century-long task!
"Yes," Feng Ye acknowledged with a slight smile. "He wants to test himself."
As he spoke, he casually picked up a cup and tilted it toward Jubia, scooping out a cupful of water from her shoulder, which had transformed into a stream of water.
Splash!
Jubia's shoulder morphed into a watery cascade, and Feng Ye filled a cup with water from her body.
"Feng... Lord Feng Ye," Jubia stammered, her instincts urging her to dodge. But because it was Feng Ye, she restrained herself and allowed him to take the water from her body.
Feng Ye offered a casual smile. "Borrowing some water."
Crack!
As his words landed, he flicked his wrist, sending the water in the cup surging forward. Simultaneously, the water froze inch by inch in the air, transforming into an ice sword.
Just as Feng Ye grasped the ice sword in his hand, a loud 'boom' reverberated, and Kildas appeared outside the courtyard, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.
"Whoops, sorry. I wasn't paying attention..." Kildas trailed off.
"It's fine. Just remember to compensate Elsa for the wall repairs," Feng Ye said with a slight smile, brandishing the ice sword as he approached Kildas.
Kildas's eyes fell on the ice sword in Feng Ye's hand, and he paused for a moment before regaining his composure. "So, you already know why I'm here. It's a bit cramped here. Let's find a more spacious location."
"No problem," Feng Ye agreed, nodding calmly. He waved his hand, and instantly, a golden magic array covered the ground beneath their feet. The next moment, Kildas, Elsa, Wendy, and the others in the courtyard felt their heads spin, and the world around them shifted.
When the transformation ended, they found themselves no longer in Magnolia Town but in a vast, open field outside the town!
"Your spatial magic truly is awe-inspiring," Kildas exclaimed, realization dawning on him.
While he himself couldn't use spatial magic, he had witnessed its use on numerous occasions and could thus gauge the significance of Feng Ye's effortless manipulation of space.
Mest in the guild could also use spatial magic, but he could only transfer people he was in contact with. Feng Ye's spatial magic, however, had just relocated an entire area of space!
"A mere trifle, not worth mentioning," Feng Ye replied, his demeanor relaxed and unbothered. He stood in place, facing Kildas, and said, "Now, let's begin... I'll offer some guidance to the others regarding their magic, but in your case, there's no need for any testing."
Kildas let out a hearty laugh, his eyes glinting with battle intent. His entire body surged with a vast and tumultuous wave of magical power. "That's exactly what I intend to do!"
