Chapter 703: Fairy Heart (Second Update)
Chapter 703: Fairy Heart (Second Update)
Magnolia City, Fairy Tail Guild.
"Vice Master, good morning!"
As Jerry entered the guild, he saw Mira Jane standing at the bar, waving at him with a smile.
He hadn't officially taken over as the Guild Master yet, but everyone already knew he was the next in line. So, whenever some of the mages saw him, they would affectionately call him Vice Master or Fourth Master.
"Long time no see, Mira Jane. Is the Guild Master here today?"
Jerry smiled.
Mira Jane was taken aback for a moment, not understanding why Jerry would say "long time no see" when they had just seen each other yesterday. However, she didn't dwell on it and instead covered her mouth with a smile.
"The Guild Master went to the East Forest. He said if anything happens, you should handle it and there's no need to bother him!"
"That old man, he sure knows how to slack off."
Jerry shook his head helplessly.
Ever since Makarov appointed him as the successor, the old man would only occasionally come to the guild for drinks and boasting, spending most of his time in the East Forest catching up with his old friend (and perhaps old flame) Porlyusica.
Most of the guild's affairs were now handled by Jerry.
But in truth, there wasn't much to do. Mira Jane would take care of the small things, and the big issues usually came from Natsu and his gang, often due to large-scale property damage and complaints from the kingdom and the Magic Council.
For those, Jerry could simply teleport over and cast a Reparo to fix everything.
Recently, Natsu and the others had all gone on vacation to Arcane Paradise, so the guild was quite peaceful.
"I need to go to the basement for a bit."
After greeting Mira Jane, Jerry walked straight down the stairs to the guild's basement.
Mira Jane assumed Jerry was going to the library to read and nodded, then continued to pour another drink for Cana, who had just woken up from a hangover.
Jerry descended the stairs and reached the basement. Instead of heading to the library, he walked all the way to the lowest level, where a Magic-hidden door stood.
After leaving Fairy Tail to return to the Main World, he had read through the entire Fairy Tail series.
So, of course, he knew about Fairy Tail's greatest secret—the ultimate weapon known as Lumen Lux, also called the Myth of Light or Fairy Heart.
This was a similar object to the Eternal Flame, possessing the characteristic of being inexhaustible and capable of releasing infinite magic power.
By obtaining the Fairy Heart and merging it with the Eternal Flame, and then using the world's laws to endow it with the appropriate properties, Jerry estimated he could create a star similar to the sun.
Currently, his ring world had formed a rudimentary universe, but only one planet was of his own creation.
Igo Planet was one he had moved in, and the sun was currently just a ball of fire.
To develop the ring world into a fully mature universe, creating planets, stars, and planets would be essential.
Creating planets was simple for him now, and creating life-sustaining planets was a bit more complicated but not impossible. He had experience creating life and had many templates to draw from in the Marvel Universe and Mini World.
The real challenge was creating the sun, a massive star with infinite energy.
Fortunately, he had already obtained the Eternal Flame, a product of Surtur's countless years of research on the sun.
Thanks to the Eternal Flame, he had a basic understanding of the sun's structure.
However, even so, to create a true sun in the ring world, something was still missing. He believed that the Fairy Heart might be able to make up for this deficiency.
Once he could create the first complete sun, creating the second and third would naturally be much easier.
"First Guild Master, Mavis Vermillion!"
Ignoring the defensive Magic constructed by the Second Guild Master at the lowest level of the basement, Jerry directly entered the room and saw the First Guild Master Mavis sealed in a purple crystal.
In fact, what was known as the Fairy Heart was the body of the First Guild Master Mavis, who had already died.
Or more precisely, it was a special magic power structure that resulted from the curse of the Ankhseram God combined with various revival Magics used by the Second Guild Master over several decades, which unexpectedly mutated.
Several hundred years ago, Zeref began researching the Magic of life and death to revive his deceased brother Natsu. This ultimately angered the Ankhseram God, who cursed Zeref with immortality and the ability to emit death energy that would kill all life if he loved life.
A century ago, the First Guild Master Mavis encountered Zeref and learned many advanced Magic techniques from him, creating the Three Great Fairy Magics.
Among these, Fairy Law, due to its uniqueness, caught the attention of the Ankhseram God, who bestowed the same curse upon her.
Because of the curse, the death energy Mavis emitted killed Makarov's mother, and she couldn't forgive herself, so she left the guild alone.
Later, when she met Zeref again, they fell in love. Zeref's love for Mavis caused the curse within him to erupt, killing her.
The Second Guild Master Hades found Mavis's body, thinking she was still alive, and spent decades trying to revive her. This eventually led to the accidental creation of the current Fairy Heart.
"I wonder if this will draw the attention of the Ankhseram God."
Recalling the origin of the Fairy Heart, Jerry approached and placed his hand on the crystal sealing Mavis's body, activating his domain.
Due to the completion of the dimensional world and his advancement to the level of a single universe, his domain was now far more powerful than before.
Once activated, although he couldn't manipulate all the laws as freely as in the ring world, it still greatly enhanced his power.
Under the influence of Jerry's domain, the purple crystal began to gradually melt, and the special magic power structure within Mavis's body slowly emerged, forming a glowing orb.
Reaching out to grasp the orb, he analyzed it briefly before tossing it into his ring world.
"It didn't appear, so I'll take it!"
After a brief wait and seeing that nothing happened, Jerry picked up Mavis's body, opened a portal, and vanished from the basement with a Phantom Shift.
Actually, Jerry could understand the Ankhseram God's actions. When a creation from one's own world begins to meddle with one's own authority, it's natural to feel some discomfort.
However, his thought was that it depends on the situation. For someone like Mavis and Zeref, who have great talent and are not inherently evil, it would be better to cultivate them rather than punish them with a curse.
Since the Ankhseram God didn't want them, he wasn't going to be polite and would take them into his dimensional world, where they could be useful helpers in the future.
If the Ankhseram God was unwilling, they could talk it out later.
But from the current situation, it didn't seem to be a big problem.
