Chapter 70: 4.5 Chakra
Chapter 70: 4.5 Chakra
【Disciple Might Guy has completed his training mission. Rewards: Chakra +1000, Rock Breathing (Mastery Level)】
【Disciple Obito Uchiha has completed his training mission. Rewards: Chakra +700, Fire Style: Grand Fire Quenching (Skilled Level)】
Several messages quickly popped up on the system panel.
"It seems that the final completion level still has a significant impact on the rewards." Mu Yue understood the reward mechanism of the training missions as he looked at the disparity in rewards between the two.
The training mission rewards consisted of two parts: the improvement in strength during the training mission and the mission objectives.
Although Obito's physical prowess and taijutsu improved during the mission and were comparable to Might Guy's, he did not complete the first objective, resulting in a significant difference in their rewards.
Mu Yue's attention turned to the reward of Rock Breathing. He immediately recognized that it was not a ninjutsu from the Naruto world, having encountered a certain extinction in the past.
Drawing from his experience of acquiring the Reaping Death Seal, Mu Yue knew that the system would also grant abilities from other worlds and then adapt them to fit the Naruto universe.
Recalling the several decades' worth of Rock Breathing training memories that suddenly appeared in his mind, Mu Yue realized that it had indeed been localized.
After reviewing those memories, Mu Yue felt that the localized version of Rock Breathing in the Naruto world could be considered a forbidden technique.
Mastering Rock Breathing allowed one to unleash terrifying power at critical moments by using full-concentration breathing to burst forth in an instant.
With skilled mastery of Rock Breathing, one could maintain full-concentration breathing for twenty-four hours. Full-concentration breathing in its standard form could effectively train and enhance physical strength, leading to an increase in overall prowess.
Upon attaining mastery over Rock Breathing, one could access even stronger breathing techniques, causing a full-body chakra eruption that enhances their state, entering a state akin to the Tailed Beast Mode, resulting in a significant boost in strength across all fronts.
However, the Tailed Beast Mode state consumed an enormous amount of chakra and exerted immense pressure on the body.
"This is indeed more suitable for me than the Eight Inner Gates." Mu Yue secretly nodded in agreement.
As long as he refrained from actively entering the Tailed Beast Mode state, Rock Breathing would be absolutely beneficial to him without any drawbacks. It would allow him to better train his physique and also unleash tremendous power during battles.
After careful consideration, Mu Yue realized that the Eight Inner Gates and Rock Breathing were a perfect match when used together.
While the Eight Inner Gates could open the gates within the body to unleash a surge of chakra, the violent nature of this chakra surge made it impossible to use ninjutsu. However, the Tailed Beast Mode state of Rock Breathing did not require intricate chakra control at all.
The vast surplus of chakra generated by the Eight Inner Gates could be used to sustain the chakra demands of the Tailed Beast Mode state. By combining the Eight Inner Gates with the Tailed Beast Mode, the only concern would be whether the body could withstand the strain.
This was where the breathing technique showed its true value, as it could enhance the body's strength.
Mu Yue believed that the combination of the Eight Inner Gates and breathing techniques was an excellent strategy. Utilizing seven gates along with the Tailed Beast Mode was undoubtedly much safer than directly opening the eighth gate.
Mu Yue felt that he had truly struck gold with these rewards. Although Obito's Fire Style: Great Fire Quenching at the skilled level was impressive, it paled in comparison to the localized Rock Breathing, known as "Dojutsu" or more specifically "Tenseigan's" Rock Breathing-inspired jutsu, "Iwabe no Jutsu" or Earth Grudge Fear's influence on the localized Rock Breathing in the Naruto world as "Iwa no Kokyuu" in the Naruto world
Mu Yue opened his personal panel.
Name: Mu Yue
Age: 18
Chakra: 11,300
Skills: Chef, Three-Finger Seal, Fire Style: Grand Fire Quenching, Reaping Death Seal, Earth Style: Earth Spear, Rock Breathing...
Evaluation: You have mastered numerous ninjutsu, including high-level techniques and forbidden techniques with terrifying power. You can unleash astonishing strength when needed, and your prowess is undoubtedly among the elite even among jonin.
Seeing that he had successfully broken through the five-digit mark in chakra, Mu Yue felt delighted.
In just one semester, he had increased his chakra from the initial 4,300 upon his arrival in this world to the current level of 11,300.
With three semesters in a year at the Ninja Academy, if he could maintain this rate of growth, excluding the gains during vacations, he would be able to increase his chakra by 21,000 in a year.
"My chakra should be around 4.5 baby cards now.
With the conclusion of the first-place match, the exam also came to an end, and both teachers and students began to disperse.
"Obito, are you alright?" Nohara Rin hurried over to Obito's side and asked with concern.
"What could happen to me? It's just a kick..." Obito replied, but before he could finish his sentence, the abrupt movement caused a sharp twist in the spot where Might Guy had kicked him, and he winced in pain.
"Don't be stubborn. Let me help you," Rin said with a sigh, reaching out to support him.
"No, I'm fine, really," Obito insisted, gritting his teeth. "I was just careless and lost. It's no big deal."
He felt extremely unhappy about losing, especially since it happened under Mu Yue and Rin's watchful eyes. Now, he wouldn't be able to refute Kakashi's future taunts about never coming in first place.
"Teacher Mu Yue," Obito said, his eyes darting away as the teacher approached.
"Are you alright? Do you need me to take you to the infirmary?" Mu Yue asked with a concerned expression.
It was important to comfort a student after a defeat.
"No, I'm fine," Obito replied honestly. He felt that aside from the pain, he was alright, and he had already refused the exam proctor's suggestion to go to the infirmary earlier.
"Still, it's better to get it checked out. It won't do to have an injury," Mu Yue said gently.
"Teacher Mu Yue is right. You should go to the infirmary," Rin agreed.
"Then, Rin, you head back first. I'll have Teacher Mu Yue take me to the infirmary," Obito said, unable to refuse their simultaneous suggestion.
"I'll come with you," Rin insisted, feeling responsible for Obito.
"No need. Teacher Mu Yue is here," Obito said, not wanting to trouble Rin any further.
"I'll come too," Might Guy spoke up.
Fighting with his all didn't change the fact that he considered Obito a comrade.
"See, there are already two of us with you. Rin, you head back," Obito said.
Rin hesitated for a moment, thinking that Mu Yue was a reliable teacher. With Obito's persistent persuasion, she eventually left on her own.
In the infirmary, Mu Yue found an excuse to send Might Guy away temporarily and began to chat with Obito.
"Don't let a single exam victory or defeat affect you too much. There are two exams per semester and six exams per year. If you don't do well this time, just work harder for the next one," Mu Yue said earnestly.
"Don't feel like you've let me down just because you didn't get first place. If that were the case, either you or Kakashi would have to let me down every semester, twice a year," Mu Yue added with a playful smile.
Obito laughed, then fell silent as he considered Mu Yue's words. They made sense—there were more exams to come, and he could always try again next semester.
"As long as you train diligently and improve your strength, you won't have let me down," Mu Yue said, patting Obito's head.
"Teacher Mu Yue..." Obito was deeply touched by Mu Yue's sincere expression. He resolved to work harder and prove that he was just as worthy of Mu Yue's teachings as Might Guy, by achieving first place in the next semester.
【Disciple Uchiha Obito's Training Mission】
【Training Mission: Achieve first place in the Ninja School practical exam】
As Mu Yue saw the system prompt, a relieved smile appeared on his face.
After comforting his defeated disciple, Mu Yue didn't forget to reward the winner. He left the infirmary with Might Guy in tow.
