Sigh, it seems even the system knows that a guy like Wang DaMaZi, with his level of intelligence, struggles to express himself properly. So, as soon as he finished speaking, the system immediately provided a task prompt.
Lu HaiKong took a look and exclaimed, 'Wow!' It was an outdoor mission, and this guy had been wanting to go out and play for a long time. Finally, the perfect opportunity had arrived, and Lu HaiKong couldn't help but burst into laughter.
After receiving the task, the foodie didn't bother with the foolish Wang DaMaZi and immediately ran off to prepare for his descent from the mountain.
When going downhill, the most important thing, of course, is to enjoy a hearty meal in the nearby county town. And how could one eat without money? Oh, right, he also needed to buy a weapon to carry with him. As a bandit, it would be embarrassing to go out without something intimidating.
Lu HaiKong first ran to the old man Wang DaFu and bought a 1.5-meter-long wooden-handled axe for five hundred copper coins. Then, with the axe on his shoulder, he proudly marched downhill.
What Lu HaiKong didn't know was that after he left the mountain, Wang DaFu and Wang DaLi, whom he had never met before, got together.
"Is this really okay? Shouldn't we tell him that he doesn't have much time left?" Wang DaLi and Wang Fat expressed their concerns.
"What's the point of telling him? If it's meant to be his, it will be. Not getting something that wasn't meant for him might not be such a bad thing, you know," the old man said, clicking his tongue as he counted the five hundred copper coins the foodie had just paid.
Wang Fat was taken aback. "Well, with his character, this kid doesn't seem like he could ever become a mountain king."
The old man's cloudy eyes flashed with a sharp gleam. "You're wrong there. Don't judge him by his usual behavior. I bet you that if this kid becomes the chief, he'll be far more outstanding than you can imagine."
"How can you be so sure?"
"Of course I am. After all, this kid is my top customer, you know." The old man spoke with confidence.
Wang Fat: ...
...
The path leading down from the bandit camp was the same one Lu HaiKong had climbed up earlier, about seven or eight kilometers long. After completing this journey, Lu HaiKong reached the imperial highway. With his 1.5-meter-long axe on his back, wearing coarse cloth clothes, and a small bag hanging from his waist containing all his 2,000 copper coins, Lu HaiKong walked along the highway. The coins jingled with each step, and with a bundle of meat buns on his back, he looked less like a bandit and more like an easy target for thieves.
Occasionally, travelers on the Imperial Highway would glance at Lu HaiKong with curiosity. Even when he received hostile glares from some foodies, his intimidating display of a giant axe was usually met with amused smiles, indicating no genuine fear.
Some kind-hearted individuals even showed concern for Lu HaiKong, asking about his destination and offering him a ride.
This irritated Lu HaiKong. He had assumed that most people in this game world would be as dim-witted as the bandits, making his robberies effortless. However, the travelers on the Imperial Highway were cunning, much like Uncle Wang, and they traveled in groups, dashing Lu HaiKong's hopes. He felt less confident about using force, especially since he was alone.
What infuriated Lu HaiKong the most was that despite his impressive bandit appearance, no one seemed afraid of him. He felt a lack of accomplishment, having gone through the effort of carrying an axe to look tough.
Lu HaiKong sulked, giving everyone a 'Don't bother me, I'm in a bad mood' look. He took out a meat bun from his bag and stuffed it into his mouth, huffing angrily.
This individual seemed to have never seen Lu HaiKong's appearance in this world. Although he occasionally noticed during wood-chopping that he seemed slightly smaller than before, he didn't pay much attention to it. Unbeknownst to him, after entering the game world, he had shrunk, and now he looked no older than sixteen or seventeen.
A sixteen or seventeen-year-old boy, with a substantial amount of copper coins tied around his waist, and a giant axe in hand, still looked like an easy target. This thought crossed the minds of some travelers on the Imperial Highway.
As Lu HaiKong ate his bun, he didn't notice three sharp-faced, sinister-looking men approaching him.
These men seemed experienced and didn't get too close to Lu HaiKong at first, maintaining a distance of one or two meters. They waited for him to lower his guard, gradually closing in until they surrounded him. The one behind Lu HaiKong casually touched his axe.
Lu HaiKong finally sensed something was wrong, but before he could react, a sharp dagger was pressed against his back.
"Don't make a sound, or I'll stab you!" the man holding the dagger whispered harshly into Lu HaiKong's ear.
Lu HaiKong was stunned, his mouth full of food, as he looked around blankly.
There were other people on the Imperial Highway, but no one intervened, even though some noticed the situation.
"Don't look around, behave, we just want your money," the man with the dagger said, slapping Lu HaiKong on the back of his head and reaching for the money pouch at his waist.
As the man was about to get the money, a smile of joy appeared on his face. He didn't notice the mischievous grin on Lu HaiKong's face, and even if he had, he would have just cursed at Lu HaiKong, not believing he could do anything.
In reality, Lu HaiKong had noticed these men as they approached and even obtained their attribute information through the game system.
Name: Zhang Danyi
Occupation: Hooligan
Level: 3
Attributes:
Strength: 2
Agility: 2
Intelligence: 1
Constitution: 1
Skill: Bullies the Weak, Afraid of the Strong
Property: 700 Copper Coins
The attributes of the three men were similar, differing only in names. They were clearly minor monsters, and they had their eyes on Lu HaiKong. He was eager for them to make a move so he could turn the tables on them, justifying it as self-defense.
I was just defending myself if I took their stuff; they started it!
Just as Lu HaiKong was about to retaliate, a clear and resonant voice rang out.
"Halt, you robber! How dare you commit such an act in broad daylight? Prepare to face the wrath of this female hero's sword!"
